Title: GHWT/RB1/RB2 question
Post by: Azazel on November 18, 2008, 02:25:26 AM
Quick GHWT/RB question: Do these games follow the tried-and-bullshit formula of previous GH titles where they force you to play through the "campaign" mode in order to unlock all the damned songs in order for you to play the fucking titles as party games with your fellow untalented friends?

To unlock all GH:WT songs:

Just plug this string of buttons into the "Cheats" section under the "Options" menu: Blue, Blue, Red, Green, Green, Blue, Blue, Yellow.

To unlock all RB2 songs:

The code happens to be the same unlock code from the original Rock Band: Red, Yellow, Blue, Red, Red, Blue, Blue, Red, Yellow, Blue. And there you have it: instant gratification.

Permanently and saveable? Or bullshit "input this code every time you play"-style?

Permanent sir.

Ookii is correct--GHWT definitely did cheat codes right (although the one for always being able to use the touch pad didn't seem to work for us).

Thank you Ooki. You are indeed the man.

Hm, GameFAQs says that the code in RB1 disables saving?

Don't buy RB.

The easiest way in RB2 to unlock all the songs, is to go into tour challenges, play the first instrument warmup set, and then do the decade challenges (not the marathon decade challenges). That gets you all the songs unlocked with ~25 songs played. You can also do it the old-fashioned way, by unlocking every song in increasing difficulty, but that sucks.

Don't buy RB.

RB has only just been released in this country about 3 weeks ago. No ETA on RB2. Bought the disc-only version to go with my GHWT bundle and instruments.

I like RBs interface more than the GH one.

Also, I think the slide on the WT guitar is useless.

I prefer the look and feel of the RB onscreen Drum board. It's an overall cleaner and slightly more clear interface.

Another question - I seem to recall someone in one of the RB/GHWT threads talking about a dual-USB microphone hook up, so they could split the vocal parts on songs, etc.

Now I can't find it, have used the Search, and reread some of the threads again.. no luck.

If anyone can help, it would be appreciated.
