Aelos is moved to REM as well, had to pick a new name: Irminsul.

Account is going to close in 11 days though, and I'm not reupping for a few months at least.

I transferred over but the guild is in limbo until we get 6 people to create a new guild.  Mythic always finds new ways to piss me off.

After a guild making party with 3 other guildleaders, Bat Country is reborn.

I just transferred today. Muffin was taken so I am now Chestnut to go along with my alt, Pecan.

I transferred today, too  (Dower -> Doli), but I don't be on again until Sunday or so.  Seems like a fun server, so far.

As someone with a shutdown account.

Why did guild move? Server population to bad? Server merge? Or was that original server being phased out?

Title: Re: Bat Country moving Red Eye Mountain

Ulthuran barely had enough population.  Once they allowed people to start moving off, there was even less.  For the few of us still playing there was no choice but to leave.

<not in bat country>
...but you can still move your chars with an inactive subscription via the account management page!

Rolled a SW, got it to 6 and threw a few /who's. No results for bat country, tazel, crom, and all of schild's chars.
Is anyone still playing? This was at 9-11 pm GMT -03:00

I was on last night (Crommwell) and got invited into Bat Country. Don't know if Taz gave me invite powers or not.

Everyone but foozle can invite.

Having been on REM since launch, I think those that are playing will like the population on the server. It seems decently balanced and queues pop fairly quickly, even on the Destro side of things.

Looking forward to running into a few of you other there ;)

No oRVR stuff in t3 to speak of in the days I've logged on. NONE.

I'm cancelling my account. I didn't figure I'd reup it anyway, but I just can't get excited about it anymore, knowing there is 3 more levels of GRIND before I can even think about being mentored up for t4 RVR. This game is such fail as a PVP game. Maybe I'll look at it again in 6 months.

Ya, I am not sure what to do besides call the time of death.  Mythic's lackadaisical attitude towards fixing their game leaves me no hope.

While i'm fully aware that T3 is a cockblock, it's been pretty active in T1 REM.

Could never stomach T2 for long, though.

If you're quitting, might as well make Mythic waste some bandwidth with your account.

I can say from experience that Ironbreakers are pretty awesome, just be warned that they're hellbent on nerfing the class to the ground.

I'm cancelled but got another month or two on my sub so I'll probably log in once in a great while but I doubt that I'll be back once the sub dies.  I can't think of anything they could change that would draw enough players to make RVR consistently available so I won't be back.

So...I just got back and was able to transfer my characters...  Is the guild defunct?  Should I bother to get Sianne to transfer as well?

Your new task is to pick up two copies of Left 4 Dead.  Alternately, you could try this browser game which seems to have some members of Bat Country enthralled for a couple days (http://forums.f13.net/index.php?topic=15266.0).

At least you 2 should play teir 4 oRvR on Red Eye for a little bit.  So you have a complete view of how badly Mythic fucked up.

You don't need to hit t4 to do that, just t3.

Fuck's sake, so much potential pissed away.

No doubt that T3 by itself is plenty of reason to quit.  But I submit that you haven't have had the full experience of Mythic's fail-train until you tried to flip a zone and can't because the game mechanics favor avoiding PvP.  And since Amiable has a tier 4 character, he might as well go all the way.

I handed the guild over to Okijin when we transferred and he changed the name to Crusade. Just incase anyone was wondering what happened to IO.

I am back playing WoW and I am actually having a lot of fun. A lot. Fun.

Sorry Taz, I just couldnt do it. My account expired today. I was hoping to wait till 1.1 and see if it fixed anything, but with how fun WoW is again. I dont see Mythic pulling off a miracle patch. Maybe I will try WAR again in a year.

I played on REM for about a week.  After repeatedly being unable to flip zones in spite of the fact we had Destro dominated, I called it quits.  My account lapsed as well. I am MMO-less.

Post by: squirrel on November 18, 2008, 01:16:47 PM
I didn't make the cut-off on my sub so I'm in until mid Dec. But I only play my T2 BW and T1 squiggy atm, even on REM there's almost no RvR at least when I'm on.

Bummer. I'm actually jonesing for a MMORPG and I don't have any interest in WoW (I know it's good, I know WoTLK is awesome, it just does nothing for me). God help me I may actually try AoC again...

Oh - also who is left that has invite privileges? My BW is only a foozle and my SM needs an invite.

Account lapsed today, only resubbing after C&C goes live.
Server is actually quite active if you don't give a damn about RvR.
Lots of people at Altdorf, even in the early morning.

Sadly, takes too much xp to get out of T2. Can't even imagine T3 being worse.

T3 is about 3 to 4 times worse than t2. T2 was a frigging breeze compared to T3.

Try this then:

I reached the T3 elf area at 19, very close to 20.  It wasn't that bad because I didn't do a lot of scenarios towards the end.  (I got tired of being one of two people to guard the flag in Phoenix Gate, and the other two scenarios didn't provide much for a Swordmaster.)

I got through Avelorn and the first area of the Saphery and I'm mid-way through 24.  All the mobs are level 29 at this point.  As I'm a defensive build I can actually outlast two or three on me, but it's slow and if a wandering champion (bastards are everywhere now) happens by, I will die.  I was doing scenarios fairly regularly, but again i tend to play defensively, so it didn't provide a lot of xp.  I also couldn't bring myself to spam Gust of Wind in Tor Anaroc.  I'd use it on occasion, but it started feeling really cheap.  (Further, I got tired of being the only one to go after the Dude with the Thing.  Yay for single-handedly winning a few of our rounds by making sure they went down and then keeping half a dozen people beating on me instead of going to pick up the bauble.)

It's not even the future design idiocies which stopped me from playing.  It's that I've ended up being under-leveled by the content by five.  I refuse to grind, so there is no advancement option except to head to other pairings, where I haven't been following the story, so it's just a different grind.

Mourkain is quite durn good for a Hoeth SM with s&b sporting that tactic that gives a dot to ensorcelled blow , actually, as is Phoenix if you play on O. Ended up becoming a tank and we hunter. Learned fast not to give a crap about D, since Mythic is too fucking dumb to reward the people that try to play the game properly. That's the reason why you see people with the artifact staying near the fight, even though it's a very bad tactical move. My SM was tearing shit up at 15-16, and I tended to get healed a lot, due to heavy use of guard and taunt.

Troll Country... that shit be random. Completely random. Never saw a reversal in the +-5 times that that thing popped.

Having an account with 7 11+ characters and not a single 20+ (heck, not a single 17+) should be a clear enough indicator that something is dead wrong with the game.

I used the Ensorcelled DoT, Rugged, and took Aetheric Armor.  With the stance dancing mod that switched my taskbar I really enjoyed the class.  Even in PvP, which says something since I'm a total Carebear.

At least until hitting that wall in T3.

Title: Re: Bat Country moving Red Eye Mountain
Post by: HaemishM on November 21, 2008, 09:00:08 AM
You hit the same wall I did in t3, only mine was in the Empire area. Until I hit level 24, all the mobs were 5+ levels above me, their patrol patterns crossed over all the roads so there was no easy way to travel, and all the quests I got took me through areas full of mobs I couldn't avoid even with the shitty With Hunter stealth. Most quests also gave me rewards I wouldn't be able to use for another 2 levels after I got done with the quest. Wandering champion mobs everywhere, little to no oRVR action going on, and the only fucking scenario that popped with any regularity was Tor Anroc. I finally went into the dwarven lands to get some quests, but it had all worn me down. I barely made it to 25.

The t2 grind is NOTHING, aboslutely NOTHING compared to the t3 grind. At least you have quests that fit your level without going to other faction zones. t3 is just a 90 degree inclined cliff after a slowly rising hill.

Y'know, yesterday while playing a friend's account with a WE at level 10, I found the answer to the current grind,

Leaving party at scenarios and going for solo kills.
Seriously.
Did some norden, ekrund and khaine's. When we lost, I got 10k xp. Highest order was 6.8.
Funny thing is, if you go completey solo you get loads of xp, sure, but even if you go with the team, you'll be getting more xp on the enemies you dps, to the tune of at least 450 per kill. Being grouped would net your 230-250.
Being a complete prick, whenever I died, i'd rejoin a group for the walk back, get any xp/renown that would come due to proximity while on my way to the flanks, position, drop group, kill.

There's your leveling mechanic. Each solo kill gives almost as much xp as a quest reward. AWESOME DESIGN!  :drill:

lol u bastid.  :awesome_for_real: isn't that like old news by now. I mean fuck, I played a sorc and if I died with no heals on me, I'd just leave party n solo kills.
but yeah rejoining sounds good lol.
