Title: Three Trial Keys Available
Post by: Venkman on October 15, 2008, 05:11:07 AM
I have three PotBS Trial Keys from GenCon that should still work. PM me if you want one.

This game hasn't shut down yet?  Does the swashbuckling part still suck ass?  Is the ship part still horribly grindy and repetitive?

I think the biggest problem is that I absolutely had to level up via combat in order to learn mercantile skills that had zippo to do with combat, like posting remote buy/sell orders and other critical functions to being a merchant.  Not being able to play the game in a way that made sense (I'm a manufacturer/raw materials supplier, not a navy captain) was a literal cockstab.

Ship combat is probably the best thing about the game.

The ship combat sim part was very well done, right down to sail damage and masts breaking.  They just needed to design a better game around it.

Yeah.  I really wanted to like the game.  To reiterate Nevermore's question though, has it been improved any?

Well DQ, kind of strange you are giving these away when they just started their Free Trial, but I guess if people will use them.

If anyone does decide to take up this game, I do still have a shipyard and remnants of a Spanish Naval officer on Rackham and have a month of Station access which includes this game.

I still enjoy the ship combat once in a while, and enjoy the game in a brief casual capacity after the society and population disappeared.

I had these from GenCon, and simply forgot about them until now. Nobody's asked for them though. Anyone here playing and want to hold onto the numbers for me? Otherwise I'm tossing the cards, no other reason to hang onto them.

I recently went through the trial - a total meh.  So much potential.

Don't you mean, "You be keelhauling the mutinous curs!  They be headin' ta see Davy Jones!"?

I'm not sure PotBS deserves pirate-talk.

It's something of an indictment of your game when you can't get people to play it for free.  So much potential...  :heartbreak:

Heh, no doubt.

Just gave all three away though. So THERE!

(well, ok, not much "there" about it   :oh_i_see:)
