At least a friend was mentioning that to me a month or two ago. I'm sure somebody in the know can tell you for sure. The thing to keep in mind is that every new system, regardless of elite or what ever, is getting these changes. I think, heh.

The 65nm Falcon chipsets (and GPU, from what I hear) are out in the wild, apparently some of the Halo themed boxes have them. So they are slowly dripping into the retail channel, but the problem is that there's no way to identify which 360 has the newer chipset. Of course, time will clear up this problem, but if you want one right now you're pretty much SOL from what I'm aware. Title: Re: 360 Elite.. erm, does it exploding? I use it vertically, and in a well ventilated space. Just don't let your cat knock it over when there's a disc in it.

But I won't have time to play it till Christmas, and I may be unemployed for a solid 6-8 weeks starting around Christmas Eve, so it's probably smarter to hold off on buying one. Post by: Yegolev on October 22, 2007, 07:59:18 AM I am fairly sure that the heatsink revision is not coupled to the Falcon board, meaning that you may or may not have the Falcon if you have the new heatsink. I might look that up except there isn't any way to tell what you have at this point, so it's moot.

Maybe even just after Christmas, as I'm sure they'll turn over an enormous amount of stock in those last couple of weeks.
