Title: Secondary Bat Country FF league.
Post by: Rasix on August 24, 2007, 10:59:07 AM
League ID:  578492
Password: supthou

12 teams max.  Same settings as the other league.

Opening this up because it appears some of us couldn't make it into the first league without watering down the talent pool available (Nebu, Zetlef, etc). Once newcomers join (no lurkers please unless you ask first), we can open it up to the rest of the board.

Sept 2 (Sunday) noon draft time.  Should be an easier draft with all of the training camp battles over.

Since this is the secondary league, we can get a bit experimental with the points if people have good ideas and if it caps lower we can open up additional roster spots.  I don't want to steal the primary league's thunder, just wanted to see if some of the people that got left out want to play.

I will wait to join until the folks that got left out get in. Holla if you need me.

Same here. When the folks who missed out on the other fun are in, I'll fill in any spots.

Count me as a third fill in. I'd definitely be in for another F13 league.

Edit:  The scoring system strongly favors QB's (6 pts for a thrown TD, only -0.25 for a sack) and defensive scoring (3pt safety, 2 points for an int or fumble recovery) .  Requiring 1 starting RB seems unusual to me as well.

Thanks for the invitation btw!

Added a RB. Took away a bench slot.  Figure we won't break 10 members on this league.

Nebu, you going to join up?

I'm opening this up on Wednesday to the rest of the site.  So people have time to set their prerankings in the case they cannot go to the live draft, Sunday 2pm PST.

Anyone have any thoughts on the point structure (I'm thinking of keeping the 6pts per throwing TD in place), roster structure, or league size?  10 or 12?

Title: Re: Secondary Bat Country FF league.
Post by: WayAbvPar on August 27, 2007, 10:07:58 AM
I would like to see a couple of tweaks in the scoring-

Fumbles/INTs should not be the same as sacks (currently both 2)

Never been a fan of negative scoring (- points for offensive INTs and fumbles)

Any way to do graduated scoring for defenses? Like shutout = 12 points, under 7 = 7, under 14=3? Something along those lines.

Points per reception- any way to apply this only to WRs/TEs? If you make it a PPR and exclude RBs it makes for a much more interesting and fair draft. Suddenly the top WRs are right up there with the 2nd tier of RBs instead of  the first 25 picks being 20 RBs, 4 QBs and a WR.

Sacks set to 1.

Don't know how the hell that was at 2.  Doesn't look like you can tweak receptions base on position.

Nebu, you going to join up?

I'll play if there's a live draft that I can fit in my schedule.  If it's a list draft, I think I'll pass. I'll try to take a look this afternoon... first day of classes and all.

It's a live draft for those that can attend. If you cannot attend, your picks are automated.

Sept 2. Noon in case anyone is still unsure of the time.

Classes on the Sunday before Labor Day? Are you non-US?

I posted on Aug 27th which was the first day of classes for me.  I was stating this because I was too busy to take a look at the draft date, time, and type... which I now see is Sept 2nd.

Clearer?

12 people wouldn't be bad.  Would separate the men from the boys in the later draft rounds.

I'd be fine with 12 if it were to let El Gallo and another old-timer in.  Maybe his entrance can be contingent on finding one more board regular?

I can give up my spot since this is my 4th Yahoo team.

No way man, the Bandwagon has almost as storied a WT/f13 ffl history as the Roosters.  Besides, the main reason to play is to beat on fogies like you.  If another fogie is up for the losers league and people already in are cool, I'm in.  If not, I'll live, I have another league to give myself an excuse to watch the 4pm and night games in addition to the Steelers...

Now, opinions on removing the second RB or are we good?

Keep the 2nd RB.  With all the teams using RB's in a committee it shouldn't be an issue.  It will also keep the waiver wire active and force a few people to handcuff their draft.

I actually ended up with an interesting team considering it was all autodrafted. I can't complain about getting Larry Johnson 6th, training camp or not. Not too sure about Moss this year, but you never know. I also like that I got Hasselback in the 6th round. Not sure why the AI waited 6 rounds to draft a QB, but I'm fine with getting a guy on one of teams I regularly watch (we get Seattle's local channels).

My draft was a disaster.  I made some serious mistakes and will be lucky to finish in the top 10.  I'll have to see what I can scavenge from the waiver wire this year.

Title: Re: Secondary Bat Country FF league.
Post by: WayAbvPar on September 04, 2007, 11:12:57 AM
I totally spaced the draft. Luckily I had pre-ranked 150 players, so my team isn't a total disaster. Pretty sure I could have done a lot better live, however.

Title: Re: Secondary Bat Country FF league.
Post by: El Gallo on September 05, 2007, 03:37:04 PM
I am pretty happy with my draft.  Parker and McGehee are a better RB tandem than I though I'd get picking at 11 and 14.  Of course, Willis will get hurt soon.

I like the shorter benches, makes a lot easier on autodrafters to fix up their reserves and makes the waiver wire more important.

Butkicking for goodness!

Title: Re: Secondary Bat Country FF league.
Post by: cmlancas on September 05, 2007, 04:48:15 PM
Hehe. I picked up a few other guys off the waiver wire, but I am interested to see how much of a sleeper Cadillac Williams will be. If Jeff Garcia can do a little something for the Buccaneers, Williams will be a force.

Title: Re: Secondary Bat Country FF league.
Post by: HaemishM on September 06, 2007, 07:30:41 AM
My RB's don't thrill me, but I think my wideout tandem of Wayne and Boldin, combined with Brees as my QB will be enough to see me in contention. Maybe Chunk will pick it up for the Titans and actually become a viable RB.

Nah.

Title: Re: Secondary Bat Country FF league.
Post by: taolurker on September 06, 2007, 08:26:38 AM
Other than having the Madden curse candidate as my Quarterback, I'll also reasonably happy with the team I have, and it should at least be interesting matchups against my team (and not total blowouts).

Good Luck to everyone, and remember the first game this week is Thursday (TONIGHT), so make sure to do any moves, trades or shopping of the waivers before tonight because it may not allow them to go through after the games start. There might be a team that dosen't field a kicker week 1 if someone doesn't (Drunks on Grass?) .

I really like the shorter benches. I run a league with some buddies for $$ that uses QB, WR, WR, RB, RB, W/R, TE, K, DEF, BN, BN, BN, BN and the shorter bench makes the waiver wire a viable option for bye weeks and seems to increase the amount of trades that occur.

FINALLY FOOTBALL SEASON STARTS TONIGHT WOOOOOO

Title: Re: Secondary Bat Country FF league.
Post by: Rasix on September 06, 2007, 11:57:39 AM
Depending on what happens in Washington, my team could go from good to face-melting awesomeness.  Betts produced when he was starting in Washington last year, which is more than dog fighting enthusiast Portis and his gimpy shoulder can claim.

My starting WRs are money. My running back tandem is solid as long as James doesn't slide further. Donovan hopefully stays healthy.  And somehow I still managed to snag Baltimore's D and Heap.   I will hurt people this season unless I really get bit hard by the injury bug.

I like my team a lot better than my primary FF league team.  Which likely means that this one will suck horribly and I'll win that league.  :-P

Title: Re: Secondary Bat Country FF league.
Post by: Nebu on September 06, 2007, 12:03:35 PM
Not that my opinion carries much weight, but I think you had the best draft.  If McNabb stays healthy and Portis goes down early, you're going to be a monster.  The only thing I see holding you back is the injury bug.

Title: Re: Secondary Bat Country FF league.

LOL Addai just got creamed.

And OMG did my heart stop (because I took him as the third pick in this league).

However, he's back in and rushing up a storm.

So far Marvin Harrison scoring one TD already has me liking my fantasy team.

GO COLTS.  =D

Mare almost hit that 52 yarder. I would've felt a lot better about keeping him had that happened. :)

Manning way overthrew that receiver -- if he hit him, he was gone for a huge score.

Edit: In response to Rasix: QB: Drew Brees (NO - QB) @Ind    L, 41-10    14.79    3.53  Ouch.

Title: Re: Secondary Bat Country FF league.
Post by: murdoc on September 07, 2007, 06:43:13 AM
Ouch, Tao has both Joseph Addai and Marvin Harrison so he's already out to a 30+ point lead with only one game played. Luckily the rest of his team doesn't have the best matchups this week.

Title: Re: Secondary Bat Country FF league.
Post by: HaemishM on September 07, 2007, 09:16:31 AM
Fuck me, but did Drew Brees smoke the big fat pole last night. According to Madden, it was because of the Cover 2 but I'm not convinced. I think that Payton forgot the running game too early, just like in the NFC Championship last year. Or more precisely, he got too goddamn cute with the running game too soon. He ran WAY too many draws on 3rd down, and eventually, the Colts' DE's just gobbled it up. They need to teach Bush to do some traditional type of runs, AND give Deuce more pounding runs up the middle and off the end. Payton's just trying to be way too cute with the run game.

If it hadn't been for Reggie Wayne, I'd already be sucking hind tit. I told you that motherfucker was money. Addai is going to be a fucking fantasy monster this year, so long as he doesn't get hurt. And the Colts just might well win the whole damn thing again this year. I certainly picked up the Colts' D as a backup.

I was disappointed too in the poor showing with the Saints -- I thought Mare was a steal considering that NO scored a shitton of points last year.

Shows what I know.

Title: Re: Secondary Bat Country FF league.

i wouldn't give up on NO quite yet. Brees had a couple of meh games last year that got me pretty much zero points. If the Bucs dominate them next week, then you can count the Saints out ;)

Title: Re: Secondary Bat Country FF league.

I'm in the market for a #2 RB/WR if anyone is interested :D C'mon, I have Eli Manning! Who knows how many INTs he can throw? Maybe you can get negative points from your #1 QB this year!

I think Randy Moss just won me my first round matchup... (157y 1TD, early third quarter)

Beyond that, I am officialy pissed off at whatever Fox network buffoon has decided we would rather watch Oakland play Detroit, instead of Chicago vs SD. Seriously, what the fuck?

All I know is that the Jets D didn't even show up today, even though Coles is still money as a WR. Probably didn't help that I cursed their Defense thinking they were gonna eat the Pats O-line for lunch.  Even worse is that Chad Pennington may be hurt, but he wasn't on my fantasy team. Looks like another bad year for the NY JETS.   :|

Even with the negative pts from my Defense, I'm still gonna crush Murdoc's team though.

Looks like Chi-Town might have LT's number. That definitely helps things quite a bit.

How in the hell does my #2 WR get 0 points today? ><

Edit: LT rushed for 25 yards and threw for one TD and scored one. He earned 25 points. Boggle ><

That Chargers/Bears game was a fucking weird one. I was right about San Diego's defense though, against Chicago they were killer. Grossman to Griese QB Clock is ticking.

Fucking Romo. Tony Fucking Romo. That cocksucker just killed me in the JV league. Unless the combination of Boldin, Vernon Davis and Rudi Johnson score over 50 points, I'm officially fucked. If you watched that Giants/Cowboys game, you saw probably the worst fucking defense on the planet. The Giants' safeties might as well have not even been on the fucking field. Romo did not do that well, he just happened to be given such a soft, gooey center of the field he gorged himself. Whoever had Jason Witten should build a shrine to Gibril Wilson's craptaculosity. If Coughlin isn't fired by mid-season, it'll only be because the GM doesn't think it'll do any good. The Cowboys' D wasn't much better, letting Eli throw deep on them all night. If the Giants had been able to muster ANY KIND of defense against the pass, the G-men might have won. Holy fuck, was that a bad game.

The Packers/Eagles game was WHACKED. I don't think I've ever seen such a sorry display of special teams in my fucking life as I saw the Eagles put on. How sad is it that you replace your punt returner because he keeps trying to catch the ball with 16 Packers around him, only to have his replacement do the SAME SHIT and lose them them game because of it. Also, Mike McCarthy, LEARN2RUNPLZKTHX. You drafted a fucking running back in the first round, USE HIM YOU ASSHOLE. Brandon Jackson should have had twice as many carries, because that would have been half as many times that Brett Favre would have had someone in his face forcing him to throw the ball as if he was blindfolded. Seriously, Favre is uncoachable at this point in his career. He will not throw the ball out of bounds when pressured. STOP MAKING HIM THROW 40 TIMES A GAME. Brett needs to be on a 30 attempts/per game leash unless you are down by two touchdowns. Your O-Line cannot pass protect worth a shit, and your rookie backs are worse than that. I swear, I had three conniptions watching that game.

Well, my boys played like fucking ass except my tight end (Witten).  My #1 RB and K played on teams scoring a total of 72 points and still got me only 18 total.  WTF.  Against a mere mortal, a big showing by my Monday night trio of Leinhart, Fitzgerald and McGehee might eek out a win, but Slay layed down a 131 point smackdown.  I don't think they'll come up with the 75 points I need

In better news, it was nice to annihilate the Browns.

Ocho Cinco + Todd Heap + Edge + Rackers + Baltimore D to go.  I think I'll get the 40 points I need to pull this one off, but who knows, stranger things have happened.  I have a feeling that Andre Johnson is going to be gold all season.  And never, ever doubt the ability of LT to get all of his fantasy points in one way or another:  76 rush/rec yards, 5 catches, 1 rushing TD, 1 passing TD, 17 passing yards.   :-D  It looks like my Betts gamble isn't going to pay off (Portis looks good) and my bench didn't do a whole lot this week.   :|

The end of that Denver game was amazing.  That's probably the best special teams play I've ever seen.  Maybe Elam needs to start kicking all of his field goals like that.

Anyone know why Fox didn't even air a 1pm game in New York and opted for a "Fall Season Preview" bullshit? Terry and Howie even talked about a doubleheader but I didn't get no doubleheader. The Eagles v Packers game would have made sense, even if it would have been painful for me to watch.

If anyone is interested in Eli after his decent showing in week one (he outscored Peyton!), I desperately need a #2 RB. The gamble on Cadillac definitely didn't pay off.

Oh yeah, and Rasix totally smoked me this game.

The team released after the game that he wasn't wearing the pads he was supposed to be wearing on his ribs!

I think he'll be better later in the season, but I picked up Jason Ward off the waiver wire. He looked pretty darn good against Dallas and he'll definitely get a ton of carries to hopefully open up Eli's passing game.

Thank you Tony Romo, my faith was not in vain  [fontsize=10]at least this week[/font] but damn that dallas secondary had me screaming at the tv.  It's gonna be another long heart attack season if they can't cover the deep pass better then that.

My rookie RB duo of Lynch and Peterson seems to have paid off so far as they combined for about 40 points.  Good thing since the only thing Steven Jackson did was fumble the damn ball.  In other news as excepted my WR core is shit.  With haem and 3 guys points unaccounted for it should be close but hopefully I can pull this out and not regret picking up a kicker.... yeah I'll get one sometime :p

Actually, I think that my prediction was waaay closer to the way it should have been, if New England wasn't cheating (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3012989).

I also could've easily destroyed if I had put Delhomme (with his bad shoulder) in for 25pts, instead of the Madden curse candidate Young for 9pts.

Anybody want Drew Brees? FUCKING FUCKITY FUCK FUCK. That asshead is killing me in both leagues. Not that Philip Rivers would have helped me any this week. I knew Favre against that SHITTY SHIT SHIT SHIT Giants D would get big points. Man, the Giants suck it this year, as I knew they would.

Also, the Rams suck. I just thought I'd add that because I like it when the Rams suck.

In the first two weeks, my team has proven that it can get 82 points lose, and 135 points and lose.  I am well on my way to 0-12!  I demand a recount on Carson Palmer's score.  There's no way it can be legal to lose to the Browns and still get 48 points.

Title: Re: Secondary Bat Country FF league.
Post by: cmlancas on September 18, 2007, 04:12:35 AM
My kicker has a whopping four points over two weeks. That's not so bad compared to Reggie Brown, who is the BIGGEST FLOP EVER with 3.6 points over two weeks as the #1 option in Philly.

Awesome.

Title: Re: Secondary Bat Country FF league.
Post by: HaemishM on September 18, 2007, 08:20:55 AM
There is no #1 option in Philly. You should know that by now. Westbrook is the #1 option for receptions. Avant is a better choice than Reggie Brown.

My team in this league is TERRIBLE. I'll be at the bottom of the standings all year. Palmer is going to keep me competitive in the other F13 league however, since he'll be throwing like a madman to try and keep up with the scoring that will occur against that terrible Bengals D.

Title: Re: Secondary Bat Country FF league.
Post by: Rasix on September 18, 2007, 10:55:32 AM
Luckily McNabb's points have just been window dressing for me.  Without Andre Johnson is my team is looking a bit shakey, as the Ladell Betts experiment isn't panning out very well.  LT is looking awful this year so far and it won't get better against the Pack.

Good time for a major injury going up against the only person that scored more points than me last week.

Bleh, in both leagues I may end up being served by benching my starting QBs and putting in Shaubinator and the lesser Manning.  McNabb's skills seem to be on a down swing.

Just glad Washington missed on their last scoring opportunities.  And since we are talking about teams without a #1 receiver I can't believe Braylon Edwards was my highest scorer this week with 30, thank you Derek Anderson.

Yea, that was a screwed up week. Losing because Cinci decided to let the fucking Browns score 300 points kind of sucks, but that's how it goes.

The most annoying thing, is that every other matchup this week in this league was a blow out, and I have to lose on Monday night by 3 points.

Yeah, I saw that. What the fuck is wrong with the goddamn Rams? Jackson gets 100 yards rushing and yet Bulger lays an egg like that? It's like the Rams have completely forgotten how to play in all phases of the game. I don't even need Brees's points in this league. I even voted for Murdoc to beat me silly, but again, who knew?

Shit, for that matter, who expected Boldin to get a 37 point week against BALTIMORE? If I would have thought I'd have to rely on his points this week, I would have sworn I'd be fucked. Yesterday was just about the weirdest Sunday in football I've ever seen.

I have Eli Manning on my bench and I'm looking for a #2 WR/RB. Let me know if I can help you out. Brees/Bulger are bigtime flops, and at least Manning seems to be comfortable throwing to Shockey/Toomer/Burress and occasionally Ward.

Unfortunately I smarted myself out of a win by benching 2 players I should have kept in the night before the games.... I really shouldn't even look at that stuff when I've been drinking.  In my defense though Dallas Clark was listed as Questionable at the time.... fucker.  My gamble of actually using a Raider was just inexcusable though and I've paid the price.

Oh my god I can't stop laughing. I just looked at the matchups and thought Wow, the Kilt waivers did pretty good, only being ten points behind league leading Nebu. Then I looked and realized that the Kilt's have 55 points from all 9 players. Nebu has 65 points from 5 players. He has 4 more playing tomorrow.

Congrats to Mark Bulger for reaching positive points this week. Barely.

(not trying to rub it in, just laughing because when I designated my pick list for the draft - Bulger was the only player I put on my "Do not draft" list.)

This was just a horrible week for  me in regards to football.  Loss in both leagues.  Donovan McNabb is nothing without his safety blanket Westbrook.  At least if he did SOMETHING this week, I'd have a chance if Ocho Cinco went bananas. Baltimore's D is fucking pathetic: way to get pasted (same to you Denver). At least my pickups for this week did something.  Other league was worse.. major injury concerns where 3 of my starters didn't play this week and one I had left in the lineup because HE PLAYED LAST WEEK WITH THE SAME THING. And unrelated to that, fuck Brandon Stokely.

I also lose badly in my picks league (not here)  this week.  I think I was under 50% and now I've dropped back into a tie for the for the overall lead.  This is for money.  :sad_panda:

edit: at least UofA destroyed WSU.  That made me happy.

I think my fantasy team is dead in the water now. Holt can't catch TDs because Bulger can't pass his way out of a paper bag, and Reggie Brown was a huge flop. The only thing I have going for me is Portis/Manning.

I'm not sure how you can "bet on" a season (possibly career) ending patella ligament injury.

Anyway, you should've picked up Pittman. He gets more carries, even though Graham had better numbers when Williams went down.

My entire bench and one extra player are on bye.  I'm going to have to eat a 0 at one position, so I like your chances.

You are no longer allowed to speak.

OMFGWTFBBQ???!!?!?!?

All I need is Michael Jenkins to get 8 points tonight, and I win. How the fuck that is, I don't even know.

It's called, I didn't have a Defense on my bench and Pittsburgh is on a bye week + I didn't know Branch wasn't going to play. :)

Also, you only win if Jenkins gets 8 points MORE than Brandon Jacobs scores for me. Best of luck though.

Why not pick up a scrub defense for the week?

Don't worry, H- Jacobs will sprain his labia in the first quarter.

Heh, I would have picked up more points playing Reuben Droughns over Jacobs. I ended up with two backs on my bench getting 15 and 20 points this week.

Yeah, I mean the Giants D may suck, but the Falcons offense sucks even worse. It was a forlorn hope at best, considering he would have had to get a TD to even have a chance. The Falcons haven't done too much of that.

Shockey and Ward combined for 18. I was surprised.

Jesus.  Having Tom Brady throw me down and make me his bitch was not nearly so pleasant as I had been led to believe from those dreamy eyes.  Maybe if he hadn't brought Wes Wekler, TJ Houshmandzadeh and Tony Gonzalez along for the ride it would have been more intimate.

Time to get things back on track next week vs the skirt-wavers.

Tom Brady has now entered the realm of the ridiculous.

He came close to beating some of the teams in our league all by himself this week. My best friend is a Dolphins fan. We had him on suicide watch during that game.

Title: Re: Secondary Bat Country FF league.
Post by: HaemishM on October 22, 2007, 09:07:41 AM
To be fair, the Dolphins REALLY REALLY SUCK. I hope the Pats don't play the Rams this year, because I don't want to see Brady get 7 TD's in a game by the half. New England really is playing at a different level than everyone else. I expect them to beat Washington next week, and MAYBE lose to the Colts, though that game is such a tossup right now. The toughest games they have left on the schedule are Indy, Baltimore, Washington and the Giants. They'll blowout the Giants D, and neither Washington or Baltimore have the offense to run with the Pats.

15-1? 14-2? 16-0? I think any one of those records is possible.

Title: Re: Secondary Bat Country FF league.

Even though I have him in the other F13 league, I am actively rooting for Brady's demise or at least a gruesome injury (maybe a headon collision with his smarmy cocksucker of a head coach). I have had my fucking fill of Patriots fans and their self-righteous indignation when people mention their favorite team FUCKING CHEATED.

Well, Moss got you 26 pts this week vs my quarterback gimped team.. Damn you Jake Delhomme for getting injured. Laverneus Coles is still money even with my crappy Jets team doing so horribly. 29 pts for Coles, damn he just needs a team to back him up.

I doubt that Addai and Harrison will make up the 50 pts I need to win tonight, but it's not beyond possibility. Knew I'd need a stellar Monday night, but 50 pts? LOL

BTW as a Jets fan, and the Pats are in their division and cheated against my team, I also hope there'll be a complete meltdown or serious injuries for the Patriots.

Jesus!  I didn't even check the score until just now (did not see the game last night).  Going into Monday night I was up by 24 with Gerrard vs Wayne and the Colts D and thought I was pretty safe -- outscored 34-3   Clinging to the last playoff spot with a tough game vs the Bunk crew, 4 byes and an injury.  This is where legends or made (or where the Roosters slink off into mediocrity).

Well this stinks.  Last week Mason just had to get 7 points on Monday night for me to win and I fall half a point short and lost.  Adrian Peterson gets me 50 points and I still lose to the only team who could have beaten me that week, I think.  And now this week I have 2 players that get 0 points and Peterson is hurt and I can lose on Monday night if Bobby Engram gets 6 points for my opponent.  The worse part is its to that basement dwelling Murdoc  :uhrr:

I hate to tell you this Zet, but you are doomed. With Alexander and Branch out, Engram is going to catch a ton of balls. Unless the weather interferes- storm blowing through now with winds up to 60 mph and some rain, but it SHOULD be past by the time the game kicks off. God I am glad I am not going to this one- went to the SF MNF game last year, got soaked to the fucking skin, then watched Frank Gore cockstab the entire defense in the 4th quarter.

Chickens behind the 8-ball and probably need to run the table to sneak in to the playoffs.  Hopefully Warner and Larry Fitz can jack up the Bengals D, Browns-style (how odd does that sound?) to lead us to glorious victory over the pantaloons.

Also, this is where I pout because I am #3 in points but #10 in standings (I VASTLY prefer the H2H system vs points, this is just cathartic whining)

Pretty exciting weekend coming up in this league.  Last week of the regular season and 6 6-6 teams are vying for 3 playoff spots.  The 5-7 kilties are not totally out either, but would need a truly epic game.  Four of the 6 are playing each other, but the winners aren't automaticaly in and the losers aren't automatically out because everyone is so close in points.

Roosters have the 8-4 Invalids, who already have a spot locked up.  They probably should be resting their starters for the playoffs, right?

I must credit all of my success this year to winning the QB lottery.  I stated before the draft and will say again that allowing 6 points for a thrown TD is a mistake.  It gives the top tier QB's too much value relative to other positions.

I had only 2 cowboys players for most of the season, one of which was Terry Glenn who never actually played.  Hell I was laughed at when I picked up Romo in the 3rd or 4th round as my starting QB so anyone upset that he has helped my team can lick my balls.  Anyone could have gotten him and he wasn't exactly a sure thing, just going with my extreme Cowboys hope there.  As far as Pat players I can't stand the team so don't have any.  Other then that I pretty much draft by posistion and try to keep it so bye weeks don't kill me.  Just sucks to have your team fall apart in its first playoff game which renders all the other games pointless anyway.

fake edit:  I still have some hope that my number 1 pick Adrian Peterson has a monster game tonight and steal the win back for me.   But that whole 9 yards rushing last week kinda puts the kibosh on that.  Also have his backup and at this point I don't know who will have the big game :p

Edit: Wasn't a monster game, congrats cmlancas

1. You all could have drafted Brady

2. I picked up Welker off the waiver wire

Overall, I'm content with my point total for the season despite my win/loss record.  It was fun playing against you guys and I'll look forward to it again next year.

Welker was probably the wave wire pickup of the year.

My Romo/Brady hate is just an extension of my picking of Donovan McNabb again.  Disappoints for the second year in a row, just more spectacularly this year.  If I pick him again, it's a sign of insanity.

Heh, anynow, both you and Zetleft dominated scorewise like I haven't seen in a while. I think my point total last year was only about a hundred higher then the playoff pack.  Take solace in the fact that I lost during Peyton's record season.

It was a good run and honesty better then I thought it may be at the start of the season.  Luckily the numerous injuries on my roster kept being to my RB core and I picked up plenty of reliable backups there.  Got Bralynn Edwards for a steal and turned out to be a top tier receiver after all.

Sad that its over, means the nfl season is just about up to wrap up too.  I hate that deadtime without any football going on.

Hey, I recognize you. You're one of only two people I beat this year!

I was terrible in all my pools except one this year, and in that pool 1st plce is playing 6th for first overall and I'm neither of those (2nd). My pick 'ems in my two spread pools were BRUTAL, I got beat on by the spread all year.

But all that is forgiven since I won just over $1k on a Sports Select ticket in October.

I can't help it, The Pants Party is a late blooming team. Unfortunately, I think Manning is going to sit on Sunday. Fuck.

It's awesome when the entire season can be rendered meaningless by the performance of a single individual on a single day.

(That's why I lobbied for 4 pts per thrown TD and also why I hate playoffs)

....Don't hate because I took Manning second overall and he has carried me all season with NE's defense. Perhaps draft day would've been different for me if this league weren't QB heavy. Anyway, I got lucky this year. I didn't know dick about drafting before this season and it was a good learning experience. Probably next year I'll get torched, but I had fun!

Playoffs are playoffs. Good teams lose. Hell, look at New England this season. I'd give 2-1 against them winning the Super Bowl.  :hello_thar:

I just don't think I'd find fantasy football interesting without head to head.  If I want to feel like I'm just balancing a spreadsheet and competing in parallel with people, I'll just go back to playing Eve.

I'm in 100% agreement with this statement. Head to head can produce some smash-the-pc-in-anger type results, but it's WAY more fun to play imo.

I agree. H2H is all about playing the matchups instead of just accumlating points. It can be a pain in the ass, especially when your QB shits the bed late in the season, but I think it's better than roto.

You are all very wrong, and will continue to be wrong until you join the right and just cause.
