I highly recommend the plugin that removes fog from any maps:

The fog can come in handy though for exploring a new area and knowing where you might get some discovery exp.

You can still toggle it on or off. It basically makes every zone work like a city zone.

Yes. EQ2Map is essential imo.

I don't understand the hide any fog thing. EQ2Map lets you just unclick "show fog" and boom, none of it's shown.

According to the thread where I found the plugin, some UIs include this feature and others don't. I use Profit and it uses the EQ2 default of fog removal only in city zones.

I recommend the POI list plugin as well (used to be the spolier plugin).

Eh? EQ2Map already labels where POIs are and if a quest branches off.

What UI are you using Schild? Does it include EQ2 maps? Because I think your UI might have a bunch of plugins preinstalled.

Neg. The only thing I'm using is the copy of EQ2MAP I attached above. AFAIK there's Nothing Else installed there.

I wonder if that's why I'm not getting it then--because I'm using profit because definitely, the fog didnt' go away in adventure zones until i added the plugin. And the maps had the different quest things when you hovered over the itty bitty teeny tiny dots on the map, but no button to open the search or spoiler info.

I ditched Thorui and am using Profit as well.  It's better and they still do stuff with it.  I honestly can't remember whether I could turn fog off or on before using anything.  I have always used some sort of UI mod.

I also highly recommend the POI plugin.  It's very nice having everything listed in another window and just being able to click on it to get a waypoint or directions.  I don't mind finding things outside but I hate losing track of where people and things are inside cities.  I don't have to bother searching for the right dot on the map this way.

On the top left, I think, there is a button and then you can toggle all the different dot flavours on and off.  It helps when you know what sort of thing (npc, quest, hunting area, etc) you're looking for.

Just install POI Finder.

I know, but then I feel like I'm missing something. The fact that I have to turn them off is depressing.

Make sure you update for RoK, they made a bunch of map system changes.
