Title: Yahoo Fantasy Football 07/08
Post by: murdoc on June 18, 2007, 09:34:56 AM
What you say?

Yes, Yahoo has opened up for the season. You can create the leagues for the upcoming NFL season RIGHT NOW.

I would have created the F13 one, but I'm a terrible person to have running the controls.

I will set one up if you don't want to...shall we try to have a live draft? Those are always the most fun. I am thinking last weekend in August of we can get a reasonable time. Will that work?

I love me a live draft, so my vote is to go with that. I'm not sure how long it's been open to create leagues, so we might be already out of luck to use the Yahoo version.

Same rules as last year? Those seemed to work pretty good if I remember correctly. Plus, it's super easy in Yahoo to just carry over rulesets from previous pools you've been in.

Shit, guess it's almost that time already.

Live draft is always preferred, just try to keep it after 6:00 pst if on a weekday, if you can.

It definitely won't be any earlier than that on a weekday if I am running things  :-D I would prefer a weekend morning/early afternoon if we can swing it.

Anyone have a list of people who've been playing the last few?  We should try to avoid last years "oh shit I missed this thread" leading to a 16 team league.  If anyone cares.

League started.

ID: 80995
pwd: harisu

Draft date: 8/23/07 9pm eastern

Same ruleset as last year.

There does seem to be a lot more livedraft "capacity" this year so if the date is a real issue we can try and move it. I am unavailable from 8/29-9/2.

You guys letting new people in or is this reserved for last year's crop?

As an aside: 6 points for a thrown TD will overvalue QB's, especially where immobile QB's are only penalized 0.25 for a sack.  Only 1 starting RB required?  Interesting.

We don't disagree but it is what it is. Not changing the rules after 3 years. I would ask those who have bever played in this league before to wait a week for the vets to have a chance to re-up.  Hell, if you get shut out, start another one. They are free.

QB points have worked out in the past.  Just means a few QBs sneak into the first couple rounds among the plethora of RBs.  Last year I got lucky and snagged Donovan in the fourth round.  He carried me for a while (heh, I also had Peyton during his 49 TD year) but then I had to finish out the year with Matt Leinart (still won).

Some of our roster limitations come from constantly having a 12 to 14 team league.  Try finding two quality runners in a 14 team league.  You pretty much end up handing the trophy to the only guy that manages to have both of his RBs stay healthy and stay starting.  You should see the amount of roster moves some of us end up making.

The 14 teams last year, sheesh.  I was making 2-3 a week through the byes.  A year after I basically had a "GG" draft.

I play in 16 team leagues that require starting 2 RB's and 2 QB's.  Having to find the gems in the later rounds of the draft and from waivers is what keeps it quite interesting throughout the season.  I don't mean to tell you guys how to play... was more of an observation really.

Heh, last season for me was pretty much won by a waiver wire pickup.  Someone picked up Frank Gore in the last round and then cut him.  I was all too happy to scoop him up.  Sucker's going to likely be gone in the first 10 picks this year.

2 RBs and 2 QBs in a 16 team league.  Man, that's got to make for some really crappy teams when someone fails to get a pair of starting QBs and runners.  We seemed to be pretty competitive top to bottom last year with the exception a few teams getting raped by injuries.

Of course, I'm going to be biased.  I've been competitive 3 of the 4 years (or has it been longer) and won last year.

Four years ago it was the waterthread league.  I didn't realize Yahoo tracked your fantasy stats.  So far I've had 1 first place, 1 second place and 2 third place finishes between here and corp and waterthread (6 leagues total).

The Bandwagon is back.

Thanks for setting this up, I think I'm going to cutback on my fantsay football teams this year. I had 4 Fantasy Teams and 3 pick 'em leagues on the go last year and it was a little much... Think I stick with this one, and one other.

Which will, of course, guarantee a gruesome week 2 knee injury.

Of course, I'm going to be MIA for weeks 2-3 again this year, so it'll be another season of patching my roster with scrubs after all the "surprises" get scooped up while I'm in Tokyo.  Might actually have to try making a trade this time!

Post by: HaemishM on June 20, 2007, 08:50:31 AM
I live on the waiver wire, not that it does me any good, mind you. I'm fine with 1 RB, because in today's NFL, most teams are running such a serious RB rotation that it's a wonder anyone gets 1,500 yard seasons. Teams have forgone fullbacks, and just go with 3 tailbacks who all get 10 carries each one week, then one guy gets 30 carries the next week, and the 3rd week, the #2 guy gets 10 again.

I blame Mike Shanahan.

Not sure I want to embarrass myself again.

Although, I do have net access all day at work this time around..

Edit: Didn't play last year because I'm still ashamed of my 05/06 performance.  If I want to play, should I sign up this week, or wait till next week?  I leave it to the group.

Double Edit: Mike Shanahan makes shitty fucking calls in the last half of every season.

Or we could set up the 'A' league for the ye olde tymers and a 'B' league for the new hotness. The bottom 4 teams in 'A' league move to 'B' league next year, and the top 4 'B' league teams move up to 'A' league. That works better when you have a prize for 'A' league though.

Having said that, I'd join a 2nd f13 league if a couple more teams were needed since I think the Morlocks league is officially dead this year.

Doh, that's what I get for not lurking this forum enough.  The Roosters won't be able to defend their championship from like 3 years ago (or their almost-last-place finishes in every other year!), but I'll remember to lurk next June, so enjoy your brief respite.

If you guys get a second league going, let me know.

Is there any way to have two seperate leagues and play a championship game pitting the winners of each (just thinking of a way to let a lot of people play (since we always seem to have a lot more people who want in than can fit) without running into the "I'm starting the Falcons' third-string fullback" problem you get in huge-ass leagues),

Still on a hold out.  Has yet to report to camp or play in preseason.  Apparently the two sides are now closer to a long term contraction extension.

Holdouts always much things up.  3rd rated fantasy player holdouts more so.

This year is going to be a tough draft, I have absolutely no clue who I'm going to get if I slide too far down in the draft order.  A lot of marginal players with now high value, players on just bad teams, unproven players taking over starting roles, and injury prone players clogging up the top rounds.

Title: Re: Yahoo Fantasy Football 07/08
Post by: WayAbvPar on August 13, 2007, 11:48:54 AM
Yeah, I really don't have a feel for this year yet. Gonna have to get off my ass and do some research though- my 'big' money league drafts on Sunday. It feels like one of those 'changing of the guard' seasons where the tried and true fantasy guys fall off a cliff and new guys come through.

Title: Re: Yahoo Fantasy Football 07/08
Post by: Nebu on August 13, 2007, 12:57:11 PM
Of all the positions, I'd consider a RB holdout the least to worry about.  Having LJ come to the season fresh could actually increase his productivity.  I'd be more interested in the role that Holmes is going to play in the offense with that new FB Kansas City just converted from a LB.  If LJ is going to do less in 3rd and short situations, he could see fewer TDs this season.

I was in the pole position in another league last night, so that means the honor will likely be someone else's in this league. My first 3 picks:

1: LT
24: James (over Portis)
25: Palmer (Manning, Brees, Bulger went first in that order).

Title: Re: Yahoo Fantasy Football 07/08
Post by: WayAbvPar on August 21, 2007, 10:41:02 AM
Bulger over Palmer?

ROFL

My live draft was over the weekend. I drafted 9th out of 13 teams. My first 3 picks- Peyton Manning, Steve Smith, and Marshawn Lynch. I am gonna hate life all year at RB (picked up a bunch of other scrubs, including Jamal Lewis), but I should get decent scoring from my top 2. Until Smith gets hurt. Again.

Title: Re: Yahoo Fantasy Football 07/08
Post by: shiznitz on August 21, 2007, 11:54:48 AM
It was a gift. I almost took Portis instead of a QB to guarantee some RB depth but Palmer is a proven point maker and it was rationally impossible to let him go.  I would rather go 5-0 and then lose in the latter half due to injury than limp into the middle of the pack.

I have Bulger 6th among QB's on my chart with the big if that McNabb stays healthy.  Palmer is 3rd or 4th.  Opinions vary.

Have fun with your 3 quarterbacks, 2 tight ends, 2 defenses and 2 kickers.   Last time I autodrafted it was a fucking disaster.

I have a bad feeling the wife is going to be bugging me since she's be out of town for a couple days.  "Sorry hon, sex after draft."

When I autodraft, I exclude all kickers and all non-top 10 defenses from my list. Kickers are easy to grab after its all over because people are swapping them in and out all season.

Damn, I actually came out great in the draft for not showing up. Reggie Bush and Rudi Johnson? With Philly as my D? Not too shabby. Too bad my quarterbacks are 30 something ho-hums.

Taking Cedric Benson with my 2nd pick was a boneheaded move, not too sure wtf I was thinking there. But, as it always is before the first games are played, I'm relatively happy with my team.

Title: Re: Yahoo Fantasy Football 07/08
Post by: HaemishM on August 24, 2007, 08:02:57 AM
I think I may be a bit weak at wide receiver. Wayne will get good numbers, but I think Hines Ward is past his sell-by date, and Henderson is streaky. If Driver is hurt for longer than a few weeks, I think Greg Jennings will put up some solid numbers. I think getting LJ may hurt me early, as he might not be ready for the first few games, but he'll eventually get the carries. Portis may take up the slack there as well.

Brees will be money for me at QB and I think Leinart will be a solid second option. TE will be dicey. Gonzalez is always steady, but with the QB situation in KC, who the fuck knows if anyone will be able to throw him a bone. Heath Miller is equally dicey, because who knows with Big Ben will show up. My kicking (Elam) is solid, and San Diego at D will be worth some points as well. My week 6 WR bye week is going to be painful, I think.

Title: Re: Yahoo Fantasy Football 07/08
Post by: Rasix on August 24, 2007, 08:50:28 AM
Like last year, I'm fairly happy with my starting lineup and a little disappointed with who I managed to get for my backups.  I never do that well in the late rounds although I consider Donte Stallworth and Eli Manning decent backups.

My rb combo of Westbrook and Brown are solid, if a bit perilous at the moment.  Westbrook can be explosive if fragile and Cam Cameron is a douchebag throwing around the notion that Brown might not start.  Javon Walker and Andre Johnson should be solid and  both should benefit from an upgrade at quarterback (even if both QBs are a bit untested).  For QBs, if Hasselbeck doesn't reinjure that non-throwing shoulder early, he should be a decent grab.  My defense (Denver) and kickers (Rackers) aren't bad either.  Bye weeks will be a little painful until I pick up some solid options on the waiver wire, where the season is won or lost (as proof last year).

Here's my assessment:

Good drafts:
sigil (Sigil's spurs).  I almost put this one as mediocre, the flex spot isn't strong on that team.
Paelos (Attack Monkies II). Solid.  Bye weeks may hurt a bit. Bench is viable if unspectacular.
Sauced (P-town Agoraphobes).  Nearly downgraded for a Randy Moss selection. Always a solid drafter.

Mediocre drafts:
Murdoc (The Murdoc Bandwagon).  Some "if"s in key positions.  Some major studs too.
Myself (Los Cerdos).  Bad bench, minor douchebag and fragility issues. Big points potential.
Trotski (Vick's Fightin' Herp).  Saved by a late round Tatum Bell selection.
Haemish (Kilt Wavers).  Wanted to rate this as good, but Portis is a big question mark that the bench might not be strong enough to offset.
Murgos (the murgoses).  Shakey at WR. Some decent bench options. Solid D + kicker may help that some.
Wayabvpar (Makin it Rain).  A Bears WR and rookie RB in key positions.  Sketchy TE. :|  Still, solid bench and Henry might be fucking huge this year.

Ehhh draft (ie future winner):
Phildo (Amateur Musicians).  Vince Young as starting QB doesn't help a shakey team.
Confused Kittens.  Dunno who this is. Every player is an "if".
The Commissioner (shiznitz). Brandon Mirree. Brad Lee Van Pelt.  Epic lulz.  Solid starters, but a bench that makes me want to weep.

Take into consideration that a lot of the "mediocre" and "ehh" drafts still have very potent teams and could really solidify over the waiver wire.  Most everyone, unlike some of the previous years, has a starting team that can beat any other starting team given the right circumstances.  I really expect this year that some of us will get royally boned by the injury bug and/or the stupid coach situation.  This wasn't a very cut and dry draft.

What a fucking trainwreck the auto draft is.  My pre-rankings did fine through round 7 when the list ran out, but then the computer just went retarded.  Keep in mind I excluded all kickers.

8: TE Courtney Anderson when I already had Cooley. The 'bot drafted a second TE when Leinart was still available as a 2nd QB.
9: RB Brandon Miree. Maybe Yahoo! ranked him above Chester Tayler, Tatum Bell or Julius Jones but it seems weird.
10: QB Bradley van Pelt: WTF?! Garcia, Grossman and Schaub were still available. Why pick a backup?
11: TE Jason Dunn. Why 3 TEs? WHY?! And why him when Dallas Clark was free?
12: WR Eric Moulds. I can live with this but why wait until now for backup WRs? Jesus.
13: WR Bobby Engram stinks but it was the end.

Thank God I forced some discipline in the early rounds. My team is completely average.

edit: just checked my rankings and Garcia and Leinart were quite high up. Garcia was never drafted at all. Something is broken.

Title: Re: Yahoo Fantasy Football 07/08
Post by: HaemishM on August 24, 2007, 08:56:05 AM
The Commissioners got TOTALLY RAPED by the autodraft. Van Pelt will be lucky to see a snap and Miree is a Packers fullback, so will never run the ball.

I think Travis Henry in Denver is going to make people think he's a Pro Bowler again. He might even make Jay Cutler a solid QB, or at least give him no excuse for not winning 10 games, with Javon Walker at wideout.

Title: Re: Yahoo Fantasy Football 07/08

I'm not terribly thrilled with my WRs and have a drastic drop-off in RB, especially if Jackson gets hurt. Week 8/9 is going to crush me too, since I didn't really look to closely at bye weeks until after I drafted.

If Santonio Holmes makes a leap to 70-1000-10, it will offset the Moss risk.  LJ Smith is hopefully a placeholder until Olsen goes off, but we'll see.  Smith could wind up having a good year.  Big Ben at backup QB is also shaky, but he should start every game and my QB situation last year was a fucking disaster.  Considering that I waited on QB and Defense and still wound up with Rivers and Baltimore, I was happy with that.

I love it when you put up enough points to beat absolutely everyone in the league... except for the guy you're going up against. If Deion Branch had done something, ANYTHING, I'd be looking at the win. Witten, Minnesota D, and Burress put up monster points and Branch, Jackson, and Benson shit the bed.

I just need Palmer to outscore Stover by 8 points tonight and I still might squeak out a win.

Yuck, very possible that I lose this game despite being up 30 and having my kicker left.  I don't see Rudi getting a lot of points against Baltimore's D, but it's possible and Fitz could just go off.

I will say that Mike and Mike (and Mike) making their debut in the NFL booth was a refreshing change from the early game. And of course, I run into the buzzsaw of Carson Palmer's 6 TD passes. Shit.

Fucking asshole. Manages to squeeze a total of 26 goddamn points out of 3 games because he isn't getting paid enough. Fuck you, shitbag.

Who the hell knew Green Bay would have such a great day against the Chargers D? Not me, I tell you. I expected Favre to throw at least one pick, but no, he kicks ass. That was a good game to watch for Packers fans like me. James Jones is going to be a stud by this time next year. I still am not sure about the Green Bay running game, but damn if they aren't playing a run and gun style offense that's working. They may come crashing to earth when they play the Bears, but based on the Bears shitty performance against the Cowboys, I'm not so sure. Favre is at least as good as Romo these days, and he has experience. Romo just sliced the Bears to bits. Also, Rex Grossman still sucks. Not exactly breaking news.

And who expected the Giants defense to show up this week? Thankfully Portis had a great first half. I still need Brees to have a 40 point game tonight to have any chance of winning.

While this is all true, it still can't be underestimated just how much missing every bit of camp has affected LJ. I mean, there haven't been significant changes in that O-Line from last year, have there? AFAIK, only Trent Green was the major subtraction from KC, which shouldn't really affect LJ at all.

Stop bitching. My fucking QB has scored 19 points all season. Brees is killing me. I have to play TRENT FUCKING GREEN next week because Brees is on bye and Leinart is in some kind of bizarro QB rotation. WTF?

You're up against me with Reggie Bush on a bye. It should be interesting.

Glad I'm not a Steven Jackson owner.

I got him in two leagues. My 1-2 punch of Jackson and Jones-Drew has been an epic failure so far, and I don't see any reason to think that it's going to turn around.

I'm surprised about Jones-Drew. I expected him to pick up decent points. Even Fred Taylor is pissing points away, with only 17. How are they 2-1? Oh right, easy schedule so far.

Jones-Drew may be worth a good bit later in the year, when Taylor sprains his labia.

Stephen Jackson out this Sunday (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3034672) with a partial groin tear. OWCH. Oh and Bulger is playing with 2 broken ribs.

And goddamnit, Hines Ward is doubtful, meaning my chances this week just dipped again.

Both of my teams are in the goddamned shitter.  This league has both of my WR's hurt, my top RB hurt, and my QB playing like a school girl.  Other league has a WR hurt, a non existant WR/RB slot, and an underachieving QB along with a bench that never materialized.   Ohh and both of my defenses have gone from decent to crap.

SAD FACE.

I'm done with Drew Fucking Brees. Fuck him. He's gone. Somebody want him, they can find his punk ass on the trash heap. Other than that, it was an ok week for me in this league, thanks to my opponent losing Santana Moss completely to injury.

Speaking of Tony Romo, who watched the Packers' game last night? I watched it on Tivo, which meant I fast-forwarded through all the dead time between plays and such. And yet, by about the 4th quarter, I was ready to strangle John Madden with his intestines if he said the name TONY FUCKING ROMO one more goddamn time. For fuck's sake, enough already. He's had a good run, on a team with lots of offensive weapons in a SHITTY conference and shitty division. He's not Peyton Manning, he's not Tom Brady, he's not even the next Brett Favre. I look forward to him getting dickstomped, probably by New England in the very near future. Madden just kept on and on gushing about Romo and comparing FAVRE to ROMO as if Romo was the soon-to-be Hall of Famer. I swear, Madden had a boner for Romo the size of Texas.

I'm not even sure Brady is the next Brett Favre.  Favre has managed to win games on his own with pretty much little help from the rest of the offense, carrying the Pack to the playoffs on the speed of his hustle.  Brady has never had to play under those conditions.

Apropos of nothing, as I was tortured by Madden's Farve-Fellating all night, but they were "having fun" with a "joke" that Urlacher made, when asked to describe Farve.  He called him an "old Tony Romo".

At least Favre isn't throwing 3 INT's a week anymore. I'm kind of hoping this is his last year, because I think Rodgers may be ready for prime time and not throw as many crazy stupid passes.

My hatred of Romo is coming from his being the new media darling. He's an overconfident ass, and I was happy to see the 5 INT line that Buffalo laid on him. As for Brady not being the next Favre, and not having to carry the team, I beg to differ. Up until this year, he has NEVER had a #1 receiver. Hell, the first year they won the Super Bowl, he didn't even have a #1 running back. Part of that is down to fantastic coaching, but he still has to execute. Brady's a better technical QB, Favre is... well, he's Brett Fucking Fav-rah. He should never had had the success he has.

Title: Re: Yahoo Fantasy Football 07/08

Overconfident ass? You're just a silly hater. You're seeing things. He's always selling himself short when he does good, and fully admits it when he doesn't.

Tafoya: You threw 4 interceptions in the first half...

Romo: Really?! I counted seven.

As for being overconfident on the field, the Bills just laid the pressure on. It's to their credit.

I'll change my statment then. He's an OVERRATED asshole. I'm probably hating on him so much because of him much Romo cock most of the sports media has been sucking. It's like they completely forget he has an established O line, Terrell Owens and Jason Whitten to throw to. Yes, he shows a pretty good amount of poise on the field, and I dig that. But it's like every one is anointing him the next goddamn Aikman. He's the best QB Dallas has had since Aikman, yes, but that's only spectacular because of how bad their QB's have been. I mean, when your last four or five years has listed such sterling starters as Drew Bledsoe, Vinnie Testeverde, Drew Henson, that cokehead Quincy Carter, Romo might look like a hall of famer, but it's way too early to give all the praise he's been getting lately.

The only people praising him are the same dumbass media who told us USC was the best college football team in history...right before Vince Young stepped on their dick. They are idiots. No real Dallas fans are sitting there thinking this guy is a ready-to-roll-best-in-the-west QB. They think he's the QB of the future, and as such they show support for him. He's not great YET, but he does have all the right things to BECOME great.

Save teh hate for T.O. because Romo is a bad target. Hate on the media, not the man.

Nah, I'll just continue circling the bowl. At this point it's not just them, nobody on my team is performing. They are just the most underwhelming. I've got Kitna who started strong, but put up a whopping 4.5 points over 2 games and a bye week. I've got an injured Johnson, my best WR is on a bye this week, and I've got Lee Evans who is playing for the 2nd worst passing offense in the land.

It's a hopeless situation unless I get a major turnaround.

If I didn't win $52 this week and regain the lead in my Vegas picks group (around a $900 payout), I'd be pretty pissed about this FF season is going so far.

It wouldn't surprise me to lose due to Parker + PK getting 24 points.  It would, however, be more appropriate for both of my teams to have 4-5 records because they both equally suck.  Goddamn, I thought I was going to lose Ocho Cinco in the other league once he went down.  It would only be appropriate.   And what the fuck happened with Dwayne Bowe? Did he miss the plane or something?

Places 1-4 are all tied for record though Makin' it RAIN has a pretty solid lead of 50 points at number 1.  This next week is going to be rough for me, 4 starter offensive players on bye and there is a good chance that Shaun Alexander will not play, or only get limited time next weekend due to injury (an optimistic 50%).

Anyone want a newly hot and active Drew Brees in exchange for RB I can feel safe starting next week?

Alexander is likely to miss at least a week with injuries, as is Culter. Watson is playing while Rudi Johnson has been injured, and Johnson is sucking when he does get carries. And as was said, Brees is coming out of his funk that fucked me so hard early. Hell, I'd take Brees now, as I continue to flail around for SOMEONE who can stay healthy and not throw 5 INT's a game.

Pretty sure you can vote against the trade.  You want in on that deal?  Ixnay the adetray and cough it up.

Otherwise I'm not too concerned about trading away two players that don't really contribute to my team unless it's a heavy bye week for two other players who are only going to contribute on a heavy bye week.

Heh. In the other league I picked up Brees for a song from Haemish. In a flurry of moves, it ended up being:

From Me:                  for         From Them:
Eli Manning                            Marvin Harrison
Julius Jones                           Brandon Marshall

Eli's been the only good thing I got out of that trade, and really, I expected that. I didn't expect Brees to get back on his feet, other than the usual cynicism that says that if I let him go, he'll go win the MVP award afterwards.

When we all noticed the crazy 6-9 bye weeks on our rosters, we knew it would be bad.  But not this bad.

But, hey, don't look now, but my :uhrr: decision to draft Roethlistberger and Moss has me right back in this thing.

But seriously, there's practically a 7-way tie for first place @ 6-4.

I am firmly convinced that if Mike Nolan's dad were still alive, he would have contacted Mike and told him to KICK A FUCKING FIELD GOAL when his shitty team miraculously found itself in range. Instead, he died the day before the game, which caused his son to go for it at every opportunity. This caused his team to be shutout, which in turn caused me to lose my game against trotski by less than 2 points. Which will cost me a six pack of Snow Cap to pay off our side bet.

And you people wonder why I think the universe is out to fuck me over at every turn.

I am 1 point ahead going into tonight's Steelers/Dolphins game. So long as Hines Ward scores more than Willie Parker, I'm golden. Motherfuckin' Hines Ward.

EDIT: And looking at my defense, had I played either Justin Fargas or Brandon Marshall instead of Bobby Engram, I'd be in a much more comfortable position. THANKS SEAHAWKS.

Nope, there are 6 playoff spots, none have been clinched. In fact, any of the top 8 teams could make the playoffs. The big matchups are Status Questionable/P-Town (since one of those WILL end up 9-4 and hold the top 1 or 2 spots) and the Dog Slayers/Attack Monkies matchup, which could leave the Slayers out of the top 2 if Makin' It Rain wins, or give him a first-round bye with a win. Murdoc and I play for the #6 spot. Whoever wins is in for sure, but a loss doesn't totally eliminate the loser. Talk about fucking parity.

Right now, the matchups favor me, because his QB and WR's are all up against some stout defenses. This has been one helluva league year.

Title: Re: Yahoo Fantasy Football 07/08
Post by: Sauced on November 27, 2007, 08:55:06 AM
Yeah, no one has clinched yet.  Given this weeks matchups, I could conceivably be out of it with a low scoring loss, or as Haemish mentioned a lock at #2.  Crazy.  How I ended up in the Game of the Week while the other 8-4 teams get the bottom 3 is beyond me.  Thank god I didn't need a big game from Big Ben last night, though.  Sheesh.

I got a cellar dweller match up to get in, but his team isn't THAT bad.  Should be a close game.

Anyhow, I'm just glad to still be in contention after the string of injuries I've had this year.

Title: Re: Yahoo Fantasy Football 07/08
Post by: Murgos on November 27, 2007, 11:37:55 AM
Donald Driver @ Dallas or Roddy White @ St. Louis?  Decisions, decisions, decisions.

The rest of my line up is pretty much set in stone unless there is a late injury reported.  It's nice to have finally moved into #1, it sucks to know that I am teetering on not even being #2 if I lose and Makin' wins (Which he probably will since SS is playing guys who are out for the season).

There are so many teams at 7-5 I'm not even going to bother to try and figure out the permutations.

Title: Re: Yahoo Fantasy Football 07/08
Post by: Rasix on November 27, 2007, 11:49:57 AM
We've got 3 essential "win & in"s: yourself, Sauced and Mr. Hat.  Sauced and Hat play, so we will at least have one 9-4 team.  And you're playing Attack Monkies II, who are just a bad sequel this year. Myself and Way have enough points that if we win, we're going to be in.  The next most points for a 7-5 is Haem and he's 90 points back.   Murdoc and Haem will end up knocking one of each other out (possibly).

But uhh, yah, lots of permutations. I don't want to bother doing them all. Especially at work, I try to keep my thinking to a minimum here.

Heh, shit, I've won 4 in a row.  Didn't notice that until now. I probably shouldn't have typed that.  :awesome_for_real:

Hines Ward and Reggie Wayne in the HIZZY, BITCHES.

Oh and did I forget San Diego's D, which apparently rolled over KC's line like a hippo at a buffet line? That was the highest point total I've posted this season. Even with Matt Schaub going down and scoring only 1 point I manhandled Murdoc. It didn't hurt that Palmer apparently couldn't throw with any accuracy. I can't believe how many balls he had sail on him.

Of course, with Schaub a question mark for next week, and Campbell facing the Bears, I have to rely on Kurt fucking Warner against the Seahawks. Ugggggg.

I don't think I like the concept of bye weeks in fantasy football.  Sure, I have the better record and I shouldn't be forced to play with the plebeians but the whole reason I play FF is so I have a reason to pay attention to NFL games other than my favs.

Hey, I feel the pain. Fargas has been a motherfucker the last few weeks, against Green Bay, Lane Kiffin decides to completely forget he has a running game when they are only down 14 points. Fucking retard. Hines Ward gets shut down against New England, Wayne has an average day and suddenly, there are almost 40 points sitting on my bench doing fuckall. Once I had to rely on Kurt Warner, I knew I was fucked. Having Larry Johnson being a sore vagina most of the season didn't help at all.

With Brady off the map, that league is wide open now.
