Title: EOL - The Encyclopedia of Life Post by: NiX on May 09, 2007, 04:00:37 PM I'm registered with TEDTalks and once and awhile they e-mail me with some interesting stuff. This happens to be one of the coolest things they've sent me by far. E. O. Wilson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Osborne_Wilson) won the TED Prize and for that got to make a wish. He wished for the Encyclopedia of Life (http://www.eol.org). Just recently it got $50M worth of funding to get started and now they're starting the work on getting it all planned out. There's a video on the site that shows you what they want to do with the website and how they want the Encyclopedia to work. It's pretty interesting stuff.
