Post by: bhodi on April 11, 2007, 12:39:43 PM Drenz the Rogue (http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Whisperwind&n=Drenz) Boo. You need some help.It looks sort of like a PvP spec, maybe a pvp hybrid, but you don't pvp so I'm mystified. Pick which rear-facing attack you are using. You've dumped 3 points into backstab, and you're mutilate specc'd. Move them to poisons. You put 3 pts in imp evis, and you went deep in the sub tree for serrated blades. Pick one. Nix ghostly strike, it sucks. Nix setup, you shouldn't be getting aggro anyway. In fact, since I assume you want to keep imp sap (otherwise you'd go into combat down to two weapon spec), your sub tree should be opportunity, imp sap, and initiative. Put those points into vile poisons, ask yourself if you really need remorseless attacks -- it's great while leveling for chaining but you're 70 now. I'd ditch that one too. Make find weakness 5/5. Use this (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/rogue/talents.html?3053001054021325010510000000000000000000000000502000000000000000000) as your baseline and fill in to taste. If you're doing raiding, and can live w/o imp sap, you want this (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/rogue/talents.html?3052001054121325010513223050000050000000000000000000000000000000000) instead. I wouldn't personally use fleet footed, I'd use the enchant instead, but whatever... if you're dead set on keeping serrated blades, you can do this (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/rogue/talents.html?3053001055301325010510000000000000000000000005502030000300000000000). Always have poison up. Dreng the Priest (http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Whisperwind&n=Dreng) No. Tell whoever wants you to have imp fort to F off and get a holy one to do it. You want Miasma's build, this (http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/#character-talents.xml?r=Alleria&n=Sabilene), or even moving those 3 points from wands back into the shadow tree for shadow affinity. Aggro bad. Title: Re: Ridicule Me! Post by: Morfiend on April 11, 2007, 12:41:09 PM Hey, your in The Core also.

The envenom one is awesome. Also Murder isnt half bad. With this build I was critting envenom for 3800 on debuffed mobs. Title: Re: Ridicule Me! Post by: bhodi on April 11, 2007, 12:52:26 PM Not terrible. I personally like and take murder, if possible (not enough pts in a ass/combat raiding build unfortunately) but a lot of people don't want it -- it's very situational based on what instance you're in.
Unless you PvP, I wouldn't bother spending all those points to get off a good ambush -- in a group, all you do is make the tank angry and you dead; you should be opening with CS instead, or garrote if you're paranoid and it's a high HP mob. Those extra points put into poisons instead really up your DPS -- you'd be surprised at how much! I found the thing I missed the very most was blade fury. God, I loved that. Title: Re: Ridicule Me! The bottom three were leveled basically over the course of the entire game, and the top two are a friends account that no longer plays. I got bored with my shaman when I couldn't figure out which way to go with him. I got bored with my rogue because I had burnt out leveling. It would just be moving my 3 points from shifter to Primal Tenacity. Good cat DPS + every tanking talent you need. In bear for with my tanking gear I'm sitting around 13k HP, 16.5k armor, 410 def (nearly uncrittable for a druid), with around 21% dodge. Yah, need to work on the armor and dodge some. You need to work on your gear, but you know that. Buy bandit stuff off the AH. There's also some nice low 60's BOE blue druid gear that's never expensive. Title: Re: Ridicule Me! Post by: MrHat on April 11, 2007, 01:52:07 PM Ya, the gear will come with levels, and the spec is what I'm looking for to, just got omen of clarity, so it's smooth sailing from here. I've already tanking Ramparts a bunch of times, so I'm comfortable w/ the gear at the level.

Post by: Rasix on April 11, 2007, 03:03:08 PM Quote from: Druid forum If you have 3/3 Survival of the Fitest you only need an additional 2.6% reduction to crits to become immune. Oddly enough, you have 0/3 SotF. You should seriously consider speccing into this talent if you plan to tank. Without SotF you need the full 5.6% reduction against level 73 mobs, or 5% against level 70 mobs. That is 490 defense without SotF, or 415 defense with it. Quote from: Druid wiki The impact on the defense skill and weapon skill systems is slightly more complicated. Many people do not realize these skills actually grant percentage-based benefits already. For example, every 25 points of defense skill grants a 1% dodge chance, 1% parry chance, 1% block chance, 1% increased chance to be missed and 1% decreased chance to be critically hit by physical attacks. Weapon skills have a similar effect for the attacker. Items will now grant skill rating rather than skill directly, and that will convert to an actual skill increase. 5.6 * 25 = 140 + 350 = 490 Title: Re: Ridicule Me! :-D Lantyssa the Hunter (http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Kirin+Tor&n=Lantyssa) - My favorite character. Draenei + Hunter = <3 Not using a Cat or something that can learn Dash, Lant? Just curious on the Swiftness rather than the last point in Unleashed Fury. Also, why Imp monkey instead of Imp. revive pet? Unless you're in melee often (usually only pvp) it's better there than in monkey since you're going beastie. Title: Re: Ridicule Me! Post by: Lantyssa on April 11, 2007, 04:34:44 PM I build for what I find fun! Advice and builds-of-the-month are great and all, but ultimately I need to only please myself. (Not that I mind any critiques and love to explain my wacky decisions.)
My two pets are a Deviate Dreadfang (indigo wind serpent) and a lesser used Death Ravager. Always having rested XP means the Ravager is falling way behind my level. I know the downsides to the Ravager, but I love purple and at my level it is rather unique. I like my pets to be fast, so I got Swiftness. I haven't bothered collecting Dive for the Dreadfang yet. (My original character was a Troll Hunter who used Dishu, before speed normalization.) I'll pick up the last point of Unleashed Fury eventually. Right now I am moving up to get some of the goodies before getting Go For The Throat then coming back to finish off Beast Mastery. I chose Improved Monkey over Improved Revive for two reasons: 1) My pet rarely dies. Only two or three times so far, and that was due to wanderers piling on us. 2) If my pet is down, dodging the mob now beating upon me becomes a lot more important to me than getting it revived. I do like to melee though, as it breaks up the monotony of always standing back and shooting my bow. Not every fight, but enough most Hunters would think I'm crazy. Title: Re: Ridicule Me! I was holy for a year until about a month ago. High end raiding has dictated that holy priests were to be replaced with holy paladins, so we run with 4 holy paladins, 1 holy priest, and 3 shadow priests. I kind of miss healing but doing the mad deeps is pretty cool too. My spec is a "hybrid" for arena and pve, but all that really means is I had to shift a couple points around so I could get Silence while maxing out Shadow Focus. Title: Re: Ridicule Me! Last I heard, this (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/classes/rogue/talents.html?3053201055101305010510253050000050000000000000000000000000000000000) was the end-all be-all. Excellent sustained DPS w/ some front burst for the weaker trash mobs. Those two combat builds are decent, but we're not in molten core anymore -- rarely do you get to just beat on a mob for 30 seconds, things drop fast and you need a bit more burst DPS than they offer.

Title: Re: Ridicule Me! Post by: Kail on April 12, 2007, 02:30:04 PM Well, I strongly suspect that most of my guys suck, so any advice would be welcome.
My main: 65 Enhancement Shaman (http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Cenarion+Circle&n=Malhoof) I've been told I should raise his crit rating, but I'm having trouble finding +crit mail. He does have a Hatebringer (http://www.wowwiki.com/Hatebringer), but I usually only use it for PvP because it doesn't work so well with Shamanistic Rage. My alts: 32 Protection Paladin (http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Cenarion+Circle&n=Lender). Having fun with him when I can find a group, but he's murder to solo. 38 Feral Druid (http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Cenarion+Circle&n=Kail), my Alliance main. Until checking this site, I actually had no idea that I was in a guild, much less one called.... um, Kitten Clan? So, there's me getting some useful information, I guess. Title: Re: Ridicule Me! (reckoning 5/5). Make sure you get a spike installed on your shield. Title: Re: Ridicule Me! Yeah... that's what I learned on my Shadow Priest once I moved to Heroics and early-Kara: you can build yourself for sustained damage all you want, but you need some sub-25s burst capability as well or you'll never get anywhere on damage. (It's probably more like sub-30s burst, but Vamp Touch is 24s and it almost never finished outside of bosses or massive two-pulls.) Title: Re: Ridicule Me! Were you healing when you logged off? You've got a lot of odd pieces in places. A lot of gear that would be better off for elemental or resto. Easy crit gear = bandit gear. Stam/agility and attack power. There's some nice melee gear you can get fairly easy in Nagrand/Terrorkar and you're right at that level. Other quests that I don't see you have gear for that might help also. Couple of easy quests (some are small group) to get you some better gear: (listing names to help with recognition, might link items.. but you should be able to tell :) ). Crit Trinket: Cruel's Intention (http://thottbot.com/q10136) Melee Back: Bring me that Egg (http://thottbot.com/q10111). You'll hate the fucking trampoline. Easily duoable. Helm: Welcoming the Wolf Spirit (http://thottbot.com/q10791) Wrist: Veil Lithic: Preemptive Strike (http://thottbot.com/q10861) AP Trinket: Bleeding Hollow Supply Crates (http://thottbot.com/q9916) Melee Ring: A Personal Favor (http://thottbot.com/q-3382) Another Ring: Terokkarantula (http://thottbot.com/q10921). Duoable. I solo'd him as a feral druid. Shoulders: Muck Diving (http://thottbot.com/q9815) Try do to the Ring of Blood event as soon as you can. Great rewards. Trying to pull off enhance without around 20%+ crit would be painful. Now, I don't particularly like enhance anymore and haven't been playing it since I got serious about leveling up my druid, but.. I think you need to gear up and play it primiarly as a melee DPS class. A small mana pool won't really hurt you as a high crit + high AP + SR will take care of your mana needs. I've seen guildies run with a lot of resto gear mixed in and ended up sacrificing a LOT of DPS for marginal group utility. Unleashed rage is quite nice, I'd recommend having it. Your spec is OK, but I'd drop Improved Healing Wave, pick up Totemic Focus, and drop Ancestral healing. Totems help an enhance shaman out a lot and it'll be your main form of group utility. Healing Focus helps, but it really just helps you die less. A lot of time it won't help your survivability since it's beyond crap to begin with. At least as a tauren you've got war stomp. Mental quickness might not be worth the talent points. Title: Re: Ridicule Me! Post by: rk47 on April 12, 2007, 05:03:53 PM i've been playing this guy for 2 months.
http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/#character-sheet.xml?r=Kilrogg&n=Vegmund Trying to get a better trinket from Arcatraz. Maybe a little cloak upgrade from Mechanar. The chest is being worked on, I just need one more primal nether to complete my netherstrike set. I'm toying with idea of making Spellstrike set to replace the Tidefury kilt (No sockets :( ) and also make Spellstrike Helm for the set bonus, hence the 353 Tailoring. Am I being too crit-centric? Talent changes like that usually get a free respec. Is that not the case with this patch? Except that imp sap isnt a trainable skill. Sap (the skill) now comes with the effects of old Imp Sap as default. New Imp Sap (changed to Dirty Tricks) increases the range at which you can sap and blind stuff. Much like when Resto Druids got Innervate replaced by Swiftmend, no free respec should be warrented, you will just magically have the new effect of Dirty Tricks, everyone will have "imp sap", and your spec will go on as normal (unless you only had Imp Sap for Imp Sap, and now want to respec out of that particular talent) Title: Re: Ridicule Me! I see no need having that talent for me at all. I don't PvP so I don't Blind much ever. Sapping range has never been a problem for me in PvE either. Maybe I'll try it out though and change my mind. If it really gives me an appreciable range for the skill, I might keep it. Title: Re: Ridicule Me! Post by: MrHat on April 16, 2007, 07:07:44 AM Heh, "Dirty Tricks" is a pvp talent. Imp range on sap will be fun there. Also, I've used blind quite a bit in instances when shit hits the fan, saved quite a few healers. The problem is, you have to explain to the group before hand that you will do it if something goes wrong, otherwise, it will get broken right away.
More interesting to me w/ 2.1 is the reduced cooldown on Shadowstep. It might make a X/Y/41 more viable in 5 man situations (still crap for raid because in a prolonged fight, you don't get shit for being subtelty spec). Title: Re: Ridicule Me! I just hit 70 yesterday. My plan over the next couple weeks is to instance as much as I can to gear up, and work on the BEM, Shadowmoon and Netherstorm quests for mount $$. I had all 3 untouched as well as a decent chunk of Nagrand because I (a) had a lot of rest xp because I haven't been able to play that much due to various shit assploding at work and (b) spent a lot of time grinding Aldor faction on the theory that grinding for faction + xp was slightly less boring than grinding for faction only, because I could watch two different bars crawl across my screen at once! Once the next patch hits I may or may not change my spec to some 17ish-44ish combat swords build (assuming I get a nice offhand sword in the meantime, preferably Latro's). Title: Re: Ridicule Me! If you do the fairly long "A visit with the greatmother" quest in Nagrand be sure to wait until Thrall is no longer in Nagrand to do the final turn in, it doesn't respawn the event. That made me sad. You have to do every single quest with the Mag'Har including one that drops off of a mob and a somewhat hidden escort quest plus the entire Altruis line before you can even start the greatmother chain. The greatmother chain itself is 14 steps long. At the end of the quest you get to have Thrall come to outland and inspire Hellscream's son by showing him what his father did. Just as I finished the second to last step someone else triggered Thrall to come. I waited for the buff you get from that to leave but Thrall was still sitting with the greatmother, I waited another hour and then did the final turn in thinking that I was being paranoid for waiting, surely the event would repop. It didn't. So if you do that don't be as impatient as me. |
