Anyone else catch this on Versus yet?  It's team-based kickboxing, basically.  The Los Angeles Assbeaters will take on the Las Vegas Shitkickers, or whatever, in a series of individual fights.  But the scores for the fights are also added together, and the team with the most points at the end wins.

All the fights are three minutes long and are fought in this weird open circular ring with inclined sides.  Three minutes doesn't sound like a lot, but they're VERY quick to penalize fighters for clinching or stalling, so they fight pretty much constantly for the entire time, and you see a reasonable number of knockouts.  Fights are scored by three judges on a five point must system, with a knockout resulting in an automatic 15-0 score.  Punches, knees, and kicks are allowed, including low kicks, but there's no grappling.

So far I find it reasonably entertaining.  It moves along quickly, the fights are short but fast-paced, and the team concept is fairly novel.

Spectator sports make my cerebellum go to sleep, except occasional MXC and Ninja Warrior.

MXC is exactly 18 sorts of awesome.

I tend not to get too involved in blood sports, even well-refed ones. After boxing shit itself with Mike Tyson, there just isn't much interest from me.

I'm disappointed, after reading the thread title I was hoping to come in and see when Spetsnatz was facing off against Mujahadeen.

Last time I watched, I saw somebody get knocked the fuck out by one of those spin-kicks that almost never lands in real life.  If you don't find such a thing awesome, then you're some kind of homo robot.
