My friends Dad passed away last week and he used to video tape all of our hockey teams games. We want to come up with a patch/sticker to put on either the helmets or jerseys. I've been tasked with designing it and I'm having a hard time coming up with symbols of remembrance that could be put on either one. I was wondering if anyone here knew of a site (I googled, but couldn't find a thing) that had lists of stuff with different meanings. Anything would help, even ideas for a design.

In my experience, these things tend to be symbols that relate to a shared experience - things like the Poppy, or the Pink Triangle, or so forth. Usually you only see names and dates really when it's for an individual.

Perhaps you'd be best off making up your own design. A camera with crossed hockey sticks, or something similar that has a specific personal meaning to your friend's father and what he meant to you and your team.

A motto in latin or greek? If you'd like a translation of sorts to Modern or Ancient Greek, this is a good website/forum:

I was thinking a cam with sticks as well. Just use something that makes sense.

Yeah, I'm thinking a circle badge with a ribbon across the middle with "We Will Never Forget" in either english or latin with the hockey sticks crossed in the background and a camera and maybe his name somewhere.

How about a camera with hocky sticks as a tripod?

Hey, that's a really good idea. Going to play with photoshop all weekend and see what I come up with.

Just make sure the camera lens doesn't look like a puck.
