Title: The second one was so good, let's make it a Trilogy! Post by: Paelos on March 27, 2007, 11:04:48 AM Ocean's Thirteen is coming in June (http://oceans13.warnerbros.com/)
Apparently they convinced Pacino to jump in on this one. Title: Re: The second one was so good, let's make it a Trilogy! Post by: schild on March 27, 2007, 11:15:30 AM With the cast carrying over each movie, and previous profits, there was no question this would happen.

There was entirely too much winking at the audience in 12 to make it worthwhile. The trailer for 13 is interesting, but it's definitely going to be a DVD instead of theater experience. Title: Re: The second one was so good, let's make it a Trilogy! Post by: Sky on March 27, 2007, 12:08:08 PM I'm holding out for Ocean's 77 with an aging Carrot-Top as the new guy.

And no more "OMG it's a celebrity playing a character and getting mistaken as the celbrity she is in real life" parts either. I wanted the 2 hours of my life back after having to sit through the crap that was 12. While 11 was a good caper heist film with some stretches, it was at least entertaining and wasn't the completely unbelievable script that was 12.Title: Re: The second one was so good, let's make it a Trilogy! I'd forgotten why I thought 12 was so bad. Yes, don't do that again. Title: Re: The second one was so good, let's make it a Trilogy! Those two movies were better than Spidey 1 & 2. Number 3 is coming very soon. Title: Re: The second one was so good, let's make it a Trilogy! Post by: Ironwood on April 26, 2007, 02:42:31 AM What ?

Title: Re: The second one was so good, let's make it a Trilogy! Post by: WayAbvPar on April 26, 2007, 03:48:56 PM I am with him. Spidey I sucked so much cock that I couldn't bring myself to watch II. I was talking to my buddy with whom I saw the original in the theatres recently- it turns out that neither of us wanted to stay and watch that piece of shit, but didn't want to walk out on the other guy. Pity we didn't discuss it then!
Title: Re: The second one was so good, let's make it a Trilogy! Post by: stray on April 26, 2007, 04:14:57 PM I didn't like Spidey 1 that much at first, but I do now. What rubbed me off was the Hobgoblin as Power Ranger thing.
But Defoe is still great in it. As is everyone else. And it's still the basic Spider-Man origin story. 2 is good. Don't hate. That is, unless you don't care for the character or comics at all. Never seen Ocean's Eleven or Twelve. It's just one of those big things I managed to avoid. Like Armageddon. Title: Re: The second one was so good, let's make it a Trilogy! Post by: Abagadro on April 26, 2007, 04:58:15 PM I think Oceans 11 is pretty good. I was in the Bellagio when they were filming parts of that, but I haven't spotted myself in the background. Oceans 12 was lazily made, indulgent and rather stupid. I've read quotes where they have acknowledged that fact and are trying to fix that in 13.
Title: Re: The second one was so good, let's make it a Trilogy! Post by: Trippy on April 26, 2007, 05:47:22 PM Ocean's 12 was just painful but I've watched Ocean's 11 on DVD more times than I've watched Spidey 1&2 on DVD combined.
Title: Re: The second one was so good, let's make it a Trilogy! Post by: stray on April 26, 2007, 07:47:19 PM Hmm..
I like heist movies. I like Clooney. I kinda like Soderbergh. I can't really explain why I've avoided it. I think the original sucks at least....But that's probably beside the point. Title: Re: The second one was so good, let's make it a Trilogy! Post by: Samwise on April 26, 2007, 07:50:55 PM Ocean's Eleven was awesome. Probably my favorite heist movie of all time.
Ocean's Twelve was pretty much on the opposite end of the spectrum. I pretend it didn't happen. Title: Re: The second one was so good, let's make it a Trilogy! Post by: SnakeCharmer on April 26, 2007, 08:09:10 PM Ocean's 11 was a fantastic film...Campy, entertaining, didn't take itself too seriously. I looked like they had a good time filming it. Despite being a polar opposite of Clooney's political views, I love (most) of his work. He's without a doubt a fine actor. I can never watch Oh Brother Where Art Thou too many times.
Ocean's 12? Horrid. Too campy, tried to poke fun at itself TOO much. Hoping this one won't turn out like 12 did.... Title: Re: The second one was so good, let's make it a Trilogy! My wife was there too (before she was my wife :-D ). She always points out the scene she saw them filming and mentions how short Andy Garcia is IRL. |
