So what's on the second disc? More actual content, or just BTS bullshit?

It's not released here for nearly 2 weeks, IF we get the Euro release date..

Why would you read this thread?

Kratos kills Athena.

Wait, is this a free-for-all of spoilers, or spoiler-free for all? Voodoolily confuse.

It's a FFA of Spoilers. I think Schild and I just about summed up the game.

It's better than Cats.  I'd play it again and again.

Yeah, I thought the "Massive Damage" in the title was a threat.

Nope, apparently we went from having a thread where we couldn't mention the slightest detail of the game to a thread that will spoil the ending for anyone who hasn't beaten the game yet, thus ensuring a complete lack of God of War 2 discussion on f13.

On a side note, the Challenge of the Titans mode is a bitch, although I'm not finding it as bad as the Challenge of the Gods mode from the first game.

Actually I wanted the real discussion to happen after people finished the game. Like posting Snape killing Dumbledore stopped people from talking about Harry Potter for a year.

Yeah, but with a book all you really have to discuss is plot, whereas you can discuss a game without really spoiling anything (especially given the fact that the plot here really only takes up a small fraction of the game).

I dunno. I like the revisionist history of God of War and could spend a good deal of time talking about it. But really, the gameplay should be the focus of discussion.

God dammit, there was no mention of Harry Potter spoilers.

I don't know why I found that so funny.

Wife: Why is he white?
Me: That's his dead family stuck to him.  Curse and whatnot.
Wife: Hmph.

Scene: Kratos has entered Atlas' anus and has to move some vertebrae.
Wife: What?  You're inside him now?
Me: Looks like it.  He's rocky on the outside but juicy on the inside.
Kratos pulls the vertebrae out of the hole.
Wife: Ewwwww.

Later...
Wife: Does he know all of these creatures are living inside him?
Me: Atlas needs a worming.

Even funnier, I typed that whole thing and used "Atlus" instead of "Atlas" until the end.

Atlus shrugged.

I agree that the story is a big part of the appeal of the game, but at the same time it's pretty sparse and is most of the time is just used to create reasons for Kratos to kill stuff.  Judging by some pictures on the walls (in the room after you kill the first two sisters of Fate) it would appear that Kratos is going to be the sole survivor of a war that will claim the lives of both the Gods and the Titans paving the way for Christianity (the final image would seem to be of the Three Wise Men following the Star of Bethlehem).

The gameplay is fairly close to the first game, which made it really easy to get into, and the addition of the wings and the time freezing added a bit of freshness.  That said, they're going to need a lot more than a few tweaks to the gameplay to keep things fresh for a third go-round.  I don't envy them the task of trying to find ways to make the series somehow even more epic for what I assume will be the finale.

Got Titan ranking on Challenge of the Titans and finished up my Cyclops eye collection by repeating challenge 1 over and over.  If there's one game that's going to be perfect for having trophies displayed in Home on PS3, it will be God of War 3.
