BERLIN (Reuters) - A German man who spent 10 days in a self-made box atop a 72-foot-tall pole to protest a looming jail term was lured off his perch by his wife -- who sent up a topless picture of herself in his lunch box.

Fred Gregor, 45, was bidding to have his 15-month conviction for fraud overturned by squatting in his tiny cubicle atop a converted television mast. He told Reuters in a telephone interview last week that he wanted a new trial.

His wife Susanne, 25, backed his protest until the former stripper and mother of their five children decided she had had enough.

Actually, having five kids pretty well disqualifies these folks.  Evolution is about survival of the reproductively fittest.  Evolution doesn't care if you are smart, only if you are a grandparent.  It doesn't matter how shiny your genes are, only that you got copies made.

Right, but when 4 of those kids die in drunk driving accidents that they caused, and the last one dies bungee jumping from a highway overpass, you'll see my point.

Point.  OTOH, do they send you to pound-me-in-the-ass-prison for fraud?  I thought white collar criminals usually got nicer accomodations.  Or is that just in the US?

I would imagine that well educated criminals are more likely to engage in sodomy than the supposed thugs, to be honest. There are no nice prisons. Just vindictive wankers who spend their time complaining about any form of punishment being too nice.
