Title: Cheap Stuff Post by: schild on January 20, 2007, 03:44:29 AM I figure we should have a thread for gaming deals since I'm probably not the only one who can't deal with CAG's layout.
Circuit City has Cold Winter for $8.96 (on the PS2 - it was an exclusive), in stock as of this post (http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Cold-Winter-PlayStation-2/sem/rpsm/oid/125001/catOid/-16492/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do). This is worth owning if you can deal with mediocre shooters with surprisingly decent story and writing. That surprise? Warren Ellis, he wrote the thing. Title: Re: Cheap Stuff Post by: MuffinMan on January 21, 2007, 02:49:45 PM If you work at a store that sells Microsoft products and participates in the program then you should be using their Retail ExpertZone (http://expertzone.microsoft.com/welcome.aspx). I got Gears of War, Viva Pinata and an extra controller for $25.

Title: Re: Cheap Stuff Post by: stray on January 22, 2007, 08:44:17 AM Geez, that Circuit City link has a lot of cheap games.
Tower Records is still having a 25% off sale of games, as well as HD-DVD, Blu-Ray, and DVD movies. http://www.towerrecords.com/Games/Default.aspx (http://www.towerrecords.com/Games/Default.aspx) http://www.towerrecords.com/Video/Default.aspx (http://www.towerrecords.com/Video/Default.aspx) Not exactly the greatest deals, but it could save some money. Movie prices aren't anything special, but most new 360 and PS3 titles are in the $45 range (as opposed to $60). Quite a few PS2 titles under $25. $15 : (PS2) God of War, Shadow of the Colossus, the Viewtiful Joes, GT4, Resident Evil 4, all R&C games, Kingdom Hearts, Tekken 5 $22 : (360): Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo, Burnout Revenge, Rumble Roses, PGR3, Prey $30: (360): Hitman Blood Money, CoD2, FarCry Instincts, Dynasty Warriors 5, Test Drive, Quake 4, Chromehounds, American Wasteland, Bomberman, GRAW Title: Re: Cheap Stuff Post by: schild on January 24, 2007, 05:06:07 PM Pirates! for PSP, $19.99 (http://www.ebgames.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=190383)

Title: Re: Cheap Stuff Post by: Yegolev on February 15, 2007, 05:17:00 AM So far I have not managed to obtain a LCD at the office, but if the screen on my T40 is any indication then it is perfectly serviceable.

I can't say that I know for sure if that's true or not though. Title: Re: Cheap Stuff Post by: Yegolev on March 03, 2007, 02:33:06 PM I am only posting this because it is very funny in this particular thread: I saw Eternal Darkness for sale at Wal*Mart today for $49.95. No kidding. Think of this as a warning-post.
Title: Re: Cheap Stuff Post by: HaemishM on March 05, 2007, 11:43:19 AM The BestBuy my brother-in-law works at was selling a bunch of X-Box games for .99 until their GM decided that was too cheap. Asshole marked a new cart of them up to $4.99. But I did manage to get 9 titles for a buck each before then, including King Kong, True Crime, Superman Returns and Flatout2, along with other shit that will be trade bait.
Title: Re: Cheap Stuff Post by: Strazos on March 05, 2007, 02:50:40 PM You actually bought a copy of True Crime?
Title: Re: Cheap Stuff Post by: HaemishM on March 06, 2007, 02:30:57 PM It was a fucking dollar. I'm likely to get at least what, $1/$1.50 out of it when I trade it in?
It wasn't nearly as bad as Pro Stroke Golf. Title: Re: Cheap Stuff Post by: Strazos on March 06, 2007, 07:07:37 PM That title is just Filthy.
Title: Re: Cheap Stuff Post by: Miasma on March 20, 2007, 07:04:35 AM In Canada Dell is doing its "Days of Deals" (http://www1.ca.dell.com/content/default.aspx?c=ca&cs=CADHS1&l=en&s=dhs) promotion and today the 2407WFP (http://reviews.cnet.com/Dell_UltraSharp_2407WFP/4505-3174_7-31899303.html) (nice 24-inch widescreen) is on sale for $650 down from $850 with free shipping. Only today though, new deals tomorrow. There are also some really cheap phones that went from $139 to $59, even has two handsets.
The prices won't look like such great deals to Americans (even after the exchange rate) but they are actually pretty good for Canada. FF2 is a 50 or 60 dollar game and they were out of copies within a week of the contest starting. The points are just bragging rights and they add shelf life to a game if you really like to "finish" games. Except for PS3 games apparently. Of course Activision doesn't exactly have the greatest selection of games, but there's some ok stuff that might be worth a purchase to some.
Title: Re: Cheap Stuff Post by: Velorath on April 03, 2007, 10:55:09 AM While not exactly cheap yet, the PSP just got a $30 price drop, from $199 down to $169 (I see that amazon.com and a few others haven't changed their prices yet, but toysrus.com ebgames/gamestop, and best buy's website at least have it changed on thiers already). Note that this is the pack which I think doesn't come with any memory stick.

Title: Re: Cheap Stuff Post by: Strazos on May 26, 2007, 01:45:50 PM I really meant to post this last night, but whatever.
Starting today, and ending June 17, EBstop is having a sale called Game Days. Basically, they're trying to clear out a lot of old stock, with discounts of 25%-50% off of the posted price. Each store is going to have differences in what they actually are selling for this thing (the marked items were all sent specifically for this sale. My store got 600 or so items). Lots of new (but dated) games and accessories. There are actually a few gems hidden among the trash. So go, scrounge among the stupid bins they made us drop in the already-crowded stores, at your own peril! Title: XBOX 360 Used Game Discount Post by: MrHat on June 06, 2007, 09:37:20 AM So I want to take advantage of this 25% off used XBOX360 games (Coupon 25U360) and pick up Dead Rising, Crackdown and RB6:Vegas all used from Gamestop.com

Also, I noticed this: "This is a used video game. It is guaranteed to work on your Xbox 360 video game console and may not include a box or instruction manual." What does it mean? Can I go into EBStop and pick up a case? Can I apply this -25% discount in store anyways, saving me the price of shipping? Title: Re: Cheap Stuff Post by: Yegolev on July 05, 2007, 07:56:41 AM I noticed the JP version of Ninja Gaiden Sigma is $59.90 and the NA version is $64.90, so... what's the deal there? Different disc or just silly pricing? If it's the same pressing then I should get the JP version. Hell, I might anyway, it's not like I don't know what's going on with Hayabusa-san.
Title: Re: Cheap Stuff Post by: schild on July 05, 2007, 08:11:20 AM Play-Asia has to import US stuff, ironically, that makes it more expensive. The American Version is already out. Just go walk into Gamestop and buy it.
Title: Re: Cheap Stuff Post by: HAMMER FRENZY on August 01, 2007, 11:45:17 AM This is not video game related but just in case you loved Hot Fuzz and don't own Shaun of the Dead, Best Buy is selling a Hot Fuzz package that includes both movies for a mere $20. That is nice. I love both movies. :-)

Title: Re: Cheap Stuff Post by: Krakrok on September 11, 2007, 04:36:45 PM Costco has this DCL24A 24" W DVI 2ms 4000:1 300 cd/m² 1920 x 1200 WUXGA (http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11220706&whse=BC&topnav=&browse=&lang=en-US) for $350 (it's $400 after shipping and tax). I picked up 2. They are almost too big. Title: Re: Cheap Stuff Post by: schild on September 11, 2007, 05:03:18 PM If that had Component-In, I'd buy it right now.
And that's why they're $350. Title: Re: Cheap Stuff Post by: Yegolev on September 12, 2007, 07:28:22 AM Another IBM Friends & Family sale.

Title: Re: Cheap Stuff Post by: schild on October 05, 2007, 05:48:40 AM There's a Wootoff today.
www.woot.com I see some orange flashing lights on the main page – what do they mean? (http://www.woot.com/WhatIsWoot.aspx#q9) Quote No, you aren't seeing a side effect from your allergy medication. You have found a Woot-Off, a short term frenzied mutation of our product posting procedure. In Woot-Off mode, a new product is launched immediately after the sellout of the previous deal. There is a half-Woot-life of 12 hours maximum on any product within a Woot-Off that does not sell out. The number of Woot-Off items, sequence, and quantity will not be announced. When Woot-Off mode is over, the orange lights will disappear and our normal schedule will resume. Depending on its success, this may be a mode we would go into once or twice a month for a relatively short duration of time (24-72 hours generally.) Title: Re: Cheap Stuff Post by: cmlancas on October 05, 2007, 09:22:48 AM I walked into a Target the other day and while shopping for a new cell phone charger, saw a G11 keyboard for $50 USD. Not sure if that qualifies here, but they also had one series of the Z speakers usually at $99.99 retail at $69.99.
I love my G11, and paid $70 for it awhile back. Title: Re: Cheap Stuff Post by: cmlancas on November 13, 2007, 04:37:39 PM For those of you interested in ripping off Bestbuy, there is currently a way that you can get a PS3 for about $400 (80GB).
Target currently has the PS3 80GB Motorstorm pack at $459.99. Best buy will beat this price by 10% with proof that the price is really this much. That'd be $459.99-$45.99=$415.00, folks. Is that the least expensive the 80GB PS3 has been at retail so far? :awesome_for_real: Title: Re: Cheap Stuff Post by: Hoax on November 14, 2007, 09:30:07 AM Wasn't this a sticky awhile back?

Title: Re: Cheap Stuff Post by: cmlancas on January 29, 2008, 10:51:36 AM So uh, Circuit City had Logitech X-540 5.1 Speakers (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16836121006) for $99.99 with a $50 MIR today.
Not too shabby for $49.99 USD. Setting 'em up now; I'll edit later to give an initial review. |
