Title: Justice League Post by: Azazel on December 12, 2006, 03:52:16 PM Was looking in the WGR subforum but no mention of it there, so I thought I'd ask here.
Does anyone have any thoughts on the game? It looks a lot like the X-Men Legends/Ultimate Alliance type of thing. Title: Re: Justice League Post by: Morfiend on December 12, 2006, 04:32:20 PM From what I hear it is Marvel Ultimate Alliance, but not near as good.
Then again, I could be totally wrong. Title: Re: Justice League Post by: schild on December 12, 2006, 04:41:34 PM Not as good as MUA? That must mean it really, really sucks.

Title: Re: Justice League Post by: stray on December 12, 2006, 07:46:44 PM I still haven't played MUA. Out of all the crappy RPG's I bought in October, I passed on the one that was probably worth a damn (I just figured it was like the X-Men games...I wanted to try something different).

I like MUA but I had low expectations, I just want to play with Iron Man and Moon Knight and have some RPG lite fun. MUA - taken for what it is - is worth the price for me. Justice League (which I borrowed from a friend as i'd heard it was weak) is just no fun in anyway really. It does indeed suck. Title: Re: Justice League Post by: Khaldun on December 12, 2006, 08:45:03 PM We got it because this is a house full of Justice League fans, but...it in fact does suck. My five-year old, who thinks the Justice League is awesome and barely knows any of the Marvel characters, now would much rather play Marvel Ultimate Alliance. When my five-year old (who is admittedly games literate) can independently break down, with considerable precision, all the ways in which MUA is a superior game, you know that Justice League's flaws are screamingly obvious. All the things that make MUA at least somewhat fun (ability to swap out characters at will, good cutscenes, lots of ways to upgrade or level characters, fairly good sense of the characters and setting, cute minigames, choice of lots of characters, etc.) are missing in Justice League. Without any of those fun little compensations, the game doesn't even rise to being a modestly mediocre bit of fun.
Title: Re: Justice League Post by: HaemishM on December 13, 2006, 08:16:19 AM I meant to blog about it before the Wii came out and just didn't.
It's not terrible. But if you've played X-Men Legends, it really really pales in comparison. You can only control 2 characters at once. I was about 6-7 hours into the game and still couldn't pick which characters I could take on the missions. The powers were decent, the graphics were decent, but the level design was mediocre at best. No matter what villain was in control of the level, all the levels were just hordes of enemies thrown at you, mostly in hallways or really restricted spaces. The best part about the game was some of the inventive powers, like Green Lanterns or Zatanna's. But really, it was just an inferior product in every way to the Marvel series of games, and even by itself, it wasn't great. I ended up sending it back (rental) before I finished it and don't regret not finishing it. Title: Re: Justice League Post by: Morfiend on December 13, 2006, 09:36:08 AM For what it was I felt MUA was pretty damn good. Decent if shallow story, fun combat, and lots and lots of comic hero powers, with lots of villians to use them on. I really enjoyed the game.
Oh yeah, Silver Surfer + Iron Man = Overpowered. Title: Re: Justice League Post by: rk47 on December 18, 2006, 06:28:33 AM I'm not a big fan of DC, so I'm giving it a miss. I tried out my friend's copy of MUA though, it was OK for what it promises...the downer is the puzzle bosses and crate pushing puzzle that is a pace breaker. After 10 hours on it...I didnt have the heart to continue and uninstalled 2/3 through the game.
The cinematics was great, the characters were done really really well compared to DC's Ugh...I saw the video on youtube...Wonder Woman looks WRONG :-o But not my cup of tea :) Title: Re: Justice League Post by: Llava on December 18, 2006, 07:26:14 AM Oh yeah, Silver Surfer + Iron Man = Overpowered. It'd be pretty much against canon if Silver Surfer were anything but overpowered. Title: Re: Justice League Post by: geldonyetich on December 18, 2006, 11:02:41 AM Galactus against Silver Surfer. Go!
Title: Re: Justice League Post by: Johny Cee on December 19, 2006, 03:15:39 PM Oh yeah, Silver Surfer + Iron Man = Overpowered. It'd be pretty much against canon if Silver Surfer were anything but overpowered. The Surfer should have a random chance of flying off in a cloud of angsty pique whenever you use him to balance it out.... |
