I've read over the launch list but I don't know most of the titles from a hole in the ground.  Is there anything omgwtf awesom that I MUST pick up with Twilight Princess?  This is important because it determines whether I buy one at/near launch, or buy Gamecube Zelda and wait six-eight months for Mario Galaxy to come. 

EDIT: Anyone heard anything good about Red Steel?  It was the only one that I briefly researched that sort of seemed cool.

I would say Red Steel if you want some thing that will really show of the Nunchuck controller. There is also a Tony Hawk made just for the Wii, Tony Hawk: Down Hill Jam. Supposed to be really fun.

I'd say Red Steel. But of the list of titles I can remember that's interested me:

Zelda
Red Steel
Madden (if you like some FOOTBALL!!)
Far Cry
Splinter Cell: Double Agent

I'd like to point out, as I do in every other thread, that Madden is an EA game. Also, as I've been told many times, Red Steel isn't very fun. FarCry is a 2 year old PC title. Double Agent belongs on a next gen system.

So, Zelda. Maybe Elebits. Possibly Trauma Center.

Yah.. but you've never tried FarCry on Wii.  Whole new experience, man.  :-D

Call of Duty 3 will be the better, scripted shooter experience. Who knows as far as multiplayer goes..?

Besides that, you can get the PC FarCry for 10 bucks.

I think Madden will be fun if you have friends because the Wii controls for it sound crazy. I buy a madden about once every 5 years or so. I have an SNES one and Madden 2003 for GC so I might get the new one and play with my buddy.

Madden is a lot like wrestling games in that you really only a need a new one a couple of times a decade. They don't change much from year to year and the rosters don't change that much either. As long as I can recognize most of the guys I'm ok.

However I will buy Madden used and not give EA any money.

Other than that, um...Zelda looks good. and Wii Sports should be good multiplayer fun.

Apparently that Marvel Ultimate Alliance is due for it as well.
Not sure if its launch though.
Or at least some dumb promotional magazine at Wal Mart says so.

Nintendo really needs to curb these shitty liscensed games.  Its done nothing for the Gameboy Color on up but clutter shelves and not sell.
People claim these things sell, but I never see them doing anything but collecting dust.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned SUPER MONKEY BALL!!!  Seriously, that game looks like a ton of fun.

Rayman Raving Rabbids has a lot of mini games that might be cool too.

Aside from Zelda I am looking to pick up Excite Truck. Looks like it could be pretty fun.

Holy fucking shit. I just sorted the entire GBA rack area at the Gamestop I am putzing around at. To save space I only left 2 copies of any one game in the display, and sent any extra copies to the back. You would not believe how many stupid extra copies they had of shit, like any of the Spongebob, DBZ, or YuGuiOh games. Though I did find a few little gems in there...Is the River City Ransom game on GBA any good?

Oh, and on the Wii...I could go for that whole list Haemish listed off, plus Monkey Ball. I only played FC on pc briefly, and never owned it. I haven't owned a Madden game since about 1994. And, I could see Splinter Cell being intersting, though I have honestly never liked Any of the games in the series. Something about the control scheme irked me in a demo.

Play FC on the PC. Not only does it look 10 times better, but the sound, graphics, and experience will be better - no question. The number of times they've repackaged this fucking game makes me sick.

Farcry comes with the Gametap sub now... Or soon I think.  Splinter Cell should be on the 360.

I expect it to be the same game (a game I never played) but to actually be a different play experience. If you've played Far Cry, you probably wouldn't want to buy it again.

EDIT: I forgot about Call of Duty 3 which does look to be a better scripted shooter. As for "looks better on the PC," I really don't care. I'm not getting a Wii because it has the greatest per pixel density.

As for Madden and EA, if you like you some football and want a football game, you have no choice. Same goes for soccer. That's just all there is.

You could play FarCry with a trackball if you want a different experience.  Or a joystick.  I have no interest in ports that were not designed with the wii-mote in mind.   

New games designed to be played on the wii are what I have interest in. I'm not sure there's going to be enough of them for quite a while.

The Wii VC games-at-launch list came out today. Slightly different for each territory. The consensus is that Japan got the best, with Europe essentially the same as the US, plus a couple. I'm looking forward to Ice Hockey, Mario Bros. (always liked it, for whatever reason), and Dungeon Explorer from the tgfx-16.

What can I say about F13?  It's really my favorite website in the entire universe!  I love the irreverent banter and sly wit these keyboard jockeys produce.  And I especially love the staff, they're AWESOME.
