I did them all last year and they were fun. Love to repeat them if possible.
Title: Re: Hallows End Holiday goodies Post by: Xanthippe on October 18, 2006, 11:07:01 AM I hope so. I didn't do them last year, so I can do them this year. Since the rewards are consumables with a time limit, it would make sense to be able to repeat them.
There are a couple of quests in Southshore for the alliance, also. Not sure what level one must be to do them. My level 1 auction house toon can't do the orphan quest. Title: Re: Hallows End Holiday goodies Post by: SurfD on October 18, 2006, 05:30:35 PM If the Horde one in Hillsbrad is the same as last year, I will cry. It was retarded.
You have to go into Southshore and drop stinkbombs (which have a cast timer) and spike some ale in the Inn. The problem is, regardless of what level you are, you almost instantly get swarmed by guards and other players if you set foot anywhere near the vicinity on a PvP server. Completing the quest was an exercise in total frustration, as you usually ended up just stripping naked and dying over and over and over and over again to guards or cevilians (who spawn more guards) or players camping Southshore for free kills, while you tried to rez in a corner somewhere where a person wouldnt see you or a guard wouldnt patrol by just to try to get the next Stinkbomb off before getting instagibbed.. Compared to the alliance counterpart quest (which was a complete joke) it was almost more painfull then the rewards were worth. Title: Re: Hallows End Holiday goodies Post by: pants on October 18, 2006, 07:47:38 PM According to worldofwarcraft.com - exact same quests. I think everything is the same as last year (bobbing for apples, the orphans, stinkbombs). I guess they were too busy doing BC to worry about doing anything new.
Title: Re: Hallows End Holiday goodies Post by: Venkman on October 18, 2006, 08:16:05 PM Well it's nice to have all this content re-triggered though. Saves them time and gives players who haven't been playing since the closed beta something new to try out. Better than nothing.
Title: Re: Hallows End Holiday goodies Post by: Merusk on October 18, 2006, 08:24:24 PM I was able to do the Trick-or-Treat quest again on my hunter. The wife wasn't able to do it on her Druid earlier in the day, but when she petitioned they told her it was a known issue and they were working on it. So it sounds like they can be repeated.
I don't care if they're the same quests, I like the atmosphere it adds. :-D  Title: Re: Hallows End Holiday goodies Post by: Xanthippe on October 18, 2006, 08:48:31 PM My daughter was very upset because she kept getting tricks instead of treats. Meanwhile, she was getting a lot of tells from people saying "how did you get the leper gnome costume?" and so on - much attention. Which she didn't appreciate, she wants lollipops and candy corn and stuff.
Me, I want the tricks and keep getting the treats. Compared to the alliance counterpart quest (which was a complete joke) it was almost more painfull then the rewards were worth. Even better, the rotten eggs and keg quest is broken. I went in the Inn, Feign Deathed and you are unable to click on the keg to complete the quest. This was after about 3-4 deaths... needless to say I was pissed. Title: Re: Hallows End Holiday goodies Post by: Zetor on October 19, 2006, 02:01:51 AM There's also a Winterspring quest to turn in a book called "Studies in Spirit Speaking" to some Argent Dawn guy in LHC. If you r-click the book, you'll see something like this:

Title: Re: Hallows End Holiday goodies Post by: Sauced on October 19, 2006, 10:48:52 AM Got a totally sweet ninja costume this morning. It was a shame I had to log out. On the other hand, a friend got turned into a bat and couldn't cast spells until he re-logged.
Title: Re: Hallows End Holiday goodies Post by: kaid on October 19, 2006, 11:45:26 AM OH I had some fun last night. I got a pack of those lil halloween candies that do the random transform and I got the you feel larger and oranger one. I am a night elf that made me quite tall. Then I go hurm what happens if I drink my winterfall firewater. HOLY CRAP thats funny stuff I was a 12 foot tall night elf. Human males were not quite waist high on me. On my mount I was truly enormous. Hehe I had a hard time fitting on the tram even I had to wiggle my way into the one spot high enough to permit me access.

It gets better - run it through a binary translator and you (apparently) get "Ultima Online Napa Valley Knights of Chaos" as an output.Title: Re: Hallows End Holiday goodies Post by: bhodi on October 19, 2006, 02:04:24 PM any permanament/renewable items on this one?
Title: Re: Hallows End Holiday goodies Post by: Merusk on October 19, 2006, 02:55:53 PM any permanament/renewable items on this one? Nope. =( You can stock-up on the wands if you choose, but they have limited charges. Title: Re: Hallows End Holiday goodies Post by: Rasix on October 19, 2006, 05:54:20 PM What about the masks? My male troll has an awesome male troll mask.
Edit: NM, duration on them is 7 days. Didn't have a duration when I initially equipped it. Odd. Title: Re: Hallows End Holiday goodies Post by: Righ on October 23, 2006, 09:45:57 PM On the other hand... if you don't log in for ages... I logged into one of my characters for the first time in I guess a year, and he was already a leper gnome.

I logged into one of my characters for the first time in I guess a year, and he was already a leper gnome. I have so far gotten three hallow wands and two female human masks. They should work on the randomization algorithm. |
