Reminds me of the evil cat from Go for some reason.

Anyways, I've heard of toxoplasmosis, but this sounds a little too far fetched.

This concerned me, because I'm still thinking about getting a cat.

Fortunately, the Internet Information Placebo called Wikipedia has comforted me.

Although the pathogen has been detected on the fur of cats, it has not been found in an infectious form, and direct infection from handling cats is generally believed to be very rare. Cats excrete the pathogen in their faeces for a number of weeks after contracting the disease, generally by eating an infected rodent. Even then, cat faeces are not generally contagious for the first day or two after excretion, after which the cyst 'ripens' and becomes potentially pathogenic. Studies have shown that only about 2% of cats are shedding at any one time, and that shedding does not recur even after repeated exposure to the parasite.

Seems you're more likely to get it by eating undercooked meat, in which case I probably already have it.

and apparently there's a $30 test for it, too!

Maybe I'll ask my doctor... :)

I don't want to take it, because I don't want to find out it's negative.  From now on I get to blame any memory problem on a parasite - can't give that up.

Yes, I blame politicians and tort lawyers for my failing memory too.

The cat is watching you and reporting back to Control.

This problem only seems to regards MMOG players who forget to clean out the cat toilet all of the time. Sounds to me they were dumb enough in the first place then.

Just stop eating cat shit or Chinese food.
