Who here is playing War Rock? I just got it this afternoon, logged in, and lo and behold, someone named batcountry was on my team. For those who do not know, its a BF2 hybrid in beta test that's free to play atm.

Yeah, and it crashes often on my system, but hey, its a free bf2.

The lag annoys me. The hackers (fewer than previous betas, but still) annoys me.

Though I have tons of fun sniping. Leading targets, accounting for bullet drop over long distances, finding those nice spots to snipe from....

Unfortunately, lag gets in the way a lot.

Lag's not good, and in an MMO you can't really kick the laggers. Yeouch.

Is there a level-based power differential? Because that would, you know, kill it right there.

Its not an mmo, its just an fps, like battle field 2. There's a small 'rpg' component, in as much as there are level, or ranks, and money (dinars), where you get to purchase new guns. Its not a game killer though, cuz a head shot is a headshot still.

When the first beta came out, I played it for a day. It was decent for free.

And, like BF games, people who are good with Helicopters piss me off.

I have a problem with this game now. Ever since I switched motherboards and upgraded to the A8N32 SLI deluxe, WarRock runs very very slowly, even on low ping servers. This happened once before with the old motherboard when I forced my network card to 100full instead of autonegotiate. With this new board, it doesn't seem to matter; it lags out like hell. Anyone have a similar experience? FEAR multiplayer doesn't have this problem.

A buddy of mine is horrible about this.  I'll bring up some app that he might want to check out, and his first response is guaranteed, always, "Send me a link".  I then, guaranteed, have to inform him that he's connected to the widest information network that mankind has ever conceived, and simply by typing the app name into Google he'll be automagically shown it's address.

We're going on years upon years of this situation, so I don't think it's likely to ever resolve itself.
