Title: Joining up with Bat Country
Post by: Gong on June 26, 2004, 02:43:35 PM
hey guys, I've been a lurker 'round this site for quite a while, and the guys that I've been playing CoH with have all decided to take a break from the game for various reasons.  I also took a break for a little while, though lately the need for an MMO has reasserted itself even though I generally feel like a complete burnout when it comes to the genre. I could elaborate plenty more on that subject, but given the general attitude of people here, it would be a waste of time.

getting to the point, my character is level 20 radiation/energy defender, goes by the name of AstroCreep 2000. I'd like to join up with you guys, I just need to know who to talk to in-game.

If you have named yourself after the space rock band, Gong, then shame on you!  You are much too old to be playing superhero games.  You should be spending your golden years minding the grandchildren and doing origami down at the senior centre!

Her accent is neat, too, I've heard her on teamspeak.

But... but... I'm not British!  Sometimes I even say "Yo!", instead of "Oi!".

well, I've heard of the space-rock band Gong, but never actually listened to them. my musical tastes are more along the lines of boring indie rock, glitched-out computer music, and minimalistic ambient noise.

I'm quite excited to see people posting on this little thread of mine, but I need names, people! Who should I seek out/stalk in-game to get an invite?

I've got a Daevid Allen/Gong LP, but you'll never get it away from me.

Yes, I'm old.

Talk to Aslan or Whipcrack or Quidam or ?

I think. At my age, I'm lucky to remember my own name.

I think Xilren's Twin and Mr. Corporate can also invite to the group.  I'm not playing, at the moment, so I'm not familiar with any other secret identities they might have.  You might want to give one of them a pm here and set something up.

I don't need your album, Delf... Righ has them all and even dragged me to a Gong show in London some years back.  I lived through it, though I was terribly confused for weeks.

Although I don't think most of you are on when I am (Late evening to early morning EST), I would be interested in getting into Bat Country to try and avoid random groups.

Level 12 Illusion/Radiation Controller by the name of Bitrot is my main on VIctory.

I hate playing solo, and mucking with everything except direct damage tends to fit my play style - so controllers are a nice fit I've found so far. :)

consider bitrot added to my Friends list.  Should you see Naihatsu online, or Ockham, give them a tell.  I am usually on early morning/late evening EST (often REALLY early morning, as i usually get off work on weekdays around 1AM)

Ok, I'll shoot you a tell if I see you.  No rush as I got invited to a semi active SG during my playtime from some people I had grouped with a few times that weren't complete dinks.  No real attachment there though, just yet another way to find teams.

Hrmm, I finally picked up this game.  I've been playing on the Triumph server because some rl friends were there but they're never online.  What server is the f13 group using?

We're on Victory. But there usually aren't many of us on at any given time unless something's been set up on the boards. If you're thinking of switching for the companionship, I'd think twice.

Dunno how I missed it but I didnt realize you guys were on Victory. What's the average level of those left playing? Maybe I have an alt around the right level to play with you.

Well, I currently have Naihatsu an Energy/elec blaster in the first digits of the 30's and Ockham, a level 12 or so BS/Regen Scrapper, but I am ALWAYS willing to take a sidekick along for the extra fun.

My main is a 34 dark/regen scrapper, and I have alts in the 12-16 range. I'll look for you online. I'm usually on late now that my partner has quit, I've gone back to raiding with my eq guild and playing when raiding is done.
