Title: No den-den keke?
Post by: dusematic on June 22, 2006, 12:17:33 PM
I don't know how many of you watched the NBA Playoffs this year but, holy shit didn't Dwyane Wade go from All-Star to best player in the league pretty quick?  I mean sure, he got all the calls, but he still made like every shot, and they were all fadeawaye jumpers and crazy one handers off the glass.  Bill Simmons has a pretty interesting article here: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/060622 about the dynamic between Wade and Shaq.

Wade is extremely fun to watch, almost as fun as watching Mike used to be.  This guy just keeps making shots, and you're completely surprised and let down when his 20 foot fadeaway with the foul doesn't go in.  It was awesome, I'm glad he won.

Much like the World Cup and the Super Bowl, the referees made themselves a story as part of the Finals (same as it ever was). Too bad, since Dwyane is a pimp. Glad to see Gary Payton get a ring too. Just wish it was in Seattle.

Yeah, I couldn't believe how shitty GP has become since I don't watch regular season NBA anymore.

Dude, the man is old (for a pro player that is).  You can't ask the 40 year old guy to keep up with the 22's, he just can't do it anymore.  Same thing happened with Mike.  They got the brains and talent, but their bodies just can't do it for 50 minutes anymore.

Yup, Wade is great. He's not the best player in the league though. Tim Duncan is (and no, I'm not trying to be a homer). And if Lebron was allowed to penetrate with Shaq on his side, he'd kill everybody.

I only wish Miami could meet San Antonio in the Finals once. These past years it's either Dallas or Detroit cockblocking the way for either one.

It's all good though. There's literally more competition spread about now in the NBA than there ever was before (and I do mean "ever").
