Any tanks out there please read up. Lock your magery at 99.9..."Why Slay, what is this insanity you speak of?"

Here is the deal. In the war of debuffs/buffs, when you are GM your debuffs remove 11. At 99.9 they remove 10. Why is 10 better than 11? Here are some situations for you.

Battle ensues... GM mage casts curse on 99.9 mage. 99.9 mages stats drop to 89 STR, 14 Dex, 89 Int. 99.9 mage casts bless (+10 to all). he is now at 99 Str, 24 dex, 99 Int). GM mage does not know this and recasts weaken or curse. The SPELL HAS NO EFFECT. You were already debuffed at this point, even if only by 1 point.

Case 2, dexer drinks Greater Agility potion at start of fight. His dex is now 120. A GM mage can only debuff him to 98. A 99.9 mage can debuff to 90. Clumsy spam FTW, same with Strength.

Im not sure the people on this server know the trick, ill have to watch their debuffs more closely, but I dont think they do. Thoughts?

Actally, disregard this...i have been doing my research and people say there is a damge buff at GM. Now if I were making a Hybrid or Dexer with magery, 99.9 FTW.

ok, so a utility mage would be better off with 99.9, while somebody using magery to deal damage would want 100?

I remember that trick.  It's awesome when somebody keeps trying to debuff you and says "WTF".

Just to verify, I should take my tank mage to 100, right?  He'll be all about damage, so I should concentrate on that, right?

Ah, ok.  I was wondering what happened.  I checked him this morning before work.  I'll set it up when I get home before I work on the lawn, etc.  No problem.
