Title: Re: Tooth-loss rankings Post by: HaemishM on June 07, 2006, 02:42:02 PM No, people are just stupid. Also, there are a lot of shady construction companies around who will put up tinderboxes with shitty insulation, barely-to-code buildings, especially when talking about apartment complexes for low-income housing. I can't say for sure this is why we have such a massive amount of fire deaths, but it wouldn't surprise me.
Title: Re: Tooth-loss rankings Post by: schild on June 07, 2006, 02:48:51 PM Because people in Mississippi think duck and cover and stop, drop and roll are reasonable defenses? Or maybe they just enjoy lighting their farts on fire.
Title: Re: Tooth-loss rankings Post by: Lantyssa on June 07, 2006, 03:22:51 PM I had a snarky response, but I don't think I want to go there afterall.
Title: Re: Tooth-loss rankings Post by: Yegolev on June 08, 2006, 08:49:49 AM If Mississippi is like where I grew up (and it is), I suspect it is partly because of the condition of most homes. The house I grew up in, for example, is probably 80-100 years old and constructed from pine. Even I was mildly shocked when my mom told me that she figured out how the cat was getting out of the house: there was a hole rotted through the floor in their bedroom.

Title: Re: Tooth-loss rankings Post by: Lantyssa on June 08, 2006, 12:55:59 PM :P
Texas is a good state if you move to a place that suits your tastes. We have diverse options and a ton of different sub-cultures because of how big the state is. As long as you can handle the weather, at least. Title: Re: Tooth-loss rankings Post by: Abagadro on June 11, 2006, 10:40:55 PM Crap. Where was this damn site when I was compiling state level data a few months ago.
Anyways, if you simply must keep your teeth and move to Utah to do it, I will be happy to show you all the subversive aspects of life behind the Zion Curtain. Title: Re: Tooth-loss rankings Post by: WayAbvPar on June 12, 2006, 09:10:14 AM I just finished 'Under The Banner of Heaven', Ab- have you read it? Is it fairly accurate in your experience?
