Title: Question on US/Europe servers
Post by: WindupAtheist on May 21, 2006, 07:09:41 PM
Question someone asked me that I didn't know the answer to.  Can they, living in the UK, connect to an American WoW server?

If they import a US copy of WoW, yes.  If they only have a copy obtained in Europe, nope.

I live in Europe and play on a US server, so yah. The only problem might be registering with a US address / credit card, but I -think- they changed that.. and you can always switch to a non-US credit card after the game is registered.

Late to the party, but ...

I read somewhere that you could fiddle with a registry entry or something so that the EU client can connect to the US - servers.

But that was back in beta ...

The realmlist.wtf file in the WoW directory is a simple text fire that refers to the login server, so it's easily enough modified. If the clients are the same, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to do it.
