Title: Ship Build: My New DuraMaller Post by: Toast on May 20, 2006, 02:23:49 PM I followed some advice on the forums to deck out a shiny new Maller cruiser after my Omen got asploded in a tough L2 mission.
Here's what I put together based on the feedback:
High: 5x Small Focused Med Pulse I's with Gamma S crystals (short range/high damage) 1x Medium Nosferatu Mid: Webber, Capacitor Battery, 10mn named AB Low: 2x Power Relays, Energized Active Nano Plate, 1x Armor Hardener, 1x 1600mm rolled tungsten plate Any thoughts? Title: Re: Ship Build: My New DuraMaller Post by: Raging Turtle on May 20, 2006, 03:37:09 PM I hope by Armor Hardener you meant armor repper? I'd use a medium one, if you can use the t2 medium thats great. You can't run it all the time, but you have enough armor that you won't need to.
I'd drop the Nosferatu and add a small tractor beam (req. Science IV). They vastly reduce mission time by making you loot much much faster. Level 2's should be a breeze with this. edit: adding the words 'tractor beam' helps comprehension. Title: Re: Ship Build: My New DuraMaller Post by: Toast on May 20, 2006, 04:23:42 PM Oops, there's a Medium Armor Repair module in the 6th low slot. I accidentally omitted. The Maller has a lot of slots to work with.
I'm going to get Science up to IV for the tractor beam. I hate looting cans. Nice suggestion. Title: Re: Ship Build: My New DuraMaller Post by: TripleDES on May 21, 2006, 08:21:07 AM People only suggest a small T2 repairer because it repairs more than the vanilla version, but also uses less CPU and grid than a medium repairer. I'd still fit a medium is there's CPU and grid left. Often CPU is the issue, so look for named repairers, which by chance also repair more. Medium Accomodation Reconstructor or whatever it is called should be best named medium (check Vestment Reconstructor though, might be that one instead).

The tank was unbreakable, and I never had Cap issues. Thanks for the guidance. I  Maller.
Title: Re: Ship Build: My New DuraMaller Post by: Simond on May 21, 2006, 02:29:41 PM My (sort of) DuraMaller, for comparison:
H: 2x Focused Medium Pulses (M) with either multis or infrareds, 3xMedium Pulse (S) with multis or radio, Medium Nos M: 10Mn AB, Webber, Cap Recharger L: Medium Armour Repairer, Damage Control, 1600mm rolled tungsten plate, Laser Coolant System, Cap Relay, Reactor Control. It's a little bit of a tight fit (hence the reactor control in the low), but it's got some more hitting power than the standard dura. |
