A family member of mine still playing says that the latest CT_Raid mod no longer allows mana conservation on healing, by setting a healing threshold as you once could. Is this true? If so has anyone found a work around I could pass on to them? If its not true how do you do it in the latest CT_Raid add-on so I could pass the info on to them. Yep, there were some function calls that they change from open-use to Blizzard-only or somesuch backend nonsense. It's not too big a deal if you're paying attention, and honestly it's made healing a bit more interactive. I'll admit to cheesing a few runs just by sitting back and tapping flash heal while watching TV. Title: Re: Mana Conservation? But in the end it worked out for the best since I started hotkeying more then one rank of my healing touch for raidhealing. I now for a larger total then I did before, and I hardly ever run out of mana exluding some real endurance fights with a few bosses.

Post by: Zetor on May 18, 2006, 10:59:43 PM Or just roll a pally, get one of those mechanical nodding birds (as long as they peck every 1.5s) and aim it at your "/decursive; /quickheal" macro where /quickheal casts flash of light rank 6 on the MT. Then autofollow someone and click the buff hotkey every 15 mins.

It will automatically select a lower rank spell if a full one is overkill. and simply press the heal button again to cancel a spell in progres. Title: Re: Mana Conservation? I was glad to see the back of the CTRaid mana conservation sliders. As a druid, the fact that you could only set it to one level for Healing Touch encouraged people to only use their big level 60 heals, which is simply bad play. I had already abandoned the CTRaid conservation settings in favour of rank 4, rank 6 and rank 10 healing touch. Learning to use that kind of variety chosen based on your +healing and +mana/5sec gear, is vital if you want to make the most of your mana. Multiple smaller heals with the occasional large heal or HoT, and keeping people topped up instead of waiting till they get low, is a mana-efficient way to heal, especially when looking after a tank in a long fight. Heals are easily cancelled by moving. And even if you are about to land a mana-inefficient heal, it is sometimes better to let it go through instead of having it cancelled automatically, if you anticipate a damage spike and no other heals incoming. It's part art, part science. [edit] I don't have a problem with decursive - it makes up for an unfriendly UI when trying to find and cure cursed/poisoned people. A good Decursive type mod can be configured with all sorts of priority settings to maximize efficiency of decursing, but people should really practice manually decursing.
The biggest disadvantage i find in manual decursing is that selecting someone who is out of range for decurse is a pain in the ass, and it is often difficult to locate other players in spread out decursing situations. Add in the need to drop target, find someone in range, decurse them, and then re aquire target manually, it can make you glad for decursive addons. Still, I have my CT raid set up with prophiles for each character i play (Mainly mage and Druid), set so that if a debuff i can cure lands on someone, their raid tab turns bright red. set up with easily distinguishable colours, and you should be fine for mousing around to grab people.
