Title: Gaming Victories [AKA Look at what I did!] Post by: schild on April 10, 2006, 12:31:39 AM I'll have a youtube video of me playing in the hundreds, but I moved away from the camera for the last hundred levels or so. Here's the end of my marathon run in Tetris. I really should have just gone to sleep when I got tired instead of continuing. I could have put the DS into sleep mode and played this fucker up to level 999. Alas, I'm a dumb bastard. Anyway, if I'd done this when I was 12 I would have been a god among men around my friends. Now? Doesn't seem as ludicrous.
(http://www.f13.net/schild/tetris_full.gif) (http://www.f13.net/schild/tetris_bottom.gif) Oh, and the meter stops counting lines at 999. Level 276 is between 2,760 lines and 2,769 lines. At this point the blocks just drop. Square blocks can really fuck you. My mistakes were my own fault here though. I went from an empty screen at 275 to a full screen in about 6 lines. Anyway, this shit is about to invade my dreams. My level 40 vampire rogue was cacked tonight by Santa Claus, of all things, so that might be a while in coming.

Title: Re: Gaming Victories [AKA Look at what I did!] Post by: schild on April 10, 2006, 12:36:35 PM Neg. Though now that I have a camera set up to take pictures of LCDs, I may start taking LOTS. Be worried.

Title: Re: Gaming Victories [AKA Look at what I did!] Post by: schild on April 10, 2006, 01:34:33 PM Jesus, you played through Geist? No man would make that up. Truly you are a super soldier.
Title: Re: Gaming Victories [AKA Look at what I did!] Post by: schild on April 10, 2006, 10:17:40 PM Made good on my promise. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZ6AaRciZMI) Sorry the video is so short. It was by far the highest quality one I took.
Title: Re: Gaming Victories [AKA Look at what I did!] Post by: NiX on April 10, 2006, 10:28:04 PM I commented. You should check out my drunken idiocy video. It's good times.
Title: Re: Gaming Victories [AKA Look at what I did!] Post by: Strazos on April 10, 2006, 11:12:03 PM Wow, the game was giving you way more timew then I would have thought to place those blocks.
Title: Re: Gaming Victories [AKA Look at what I did!] Post by: schild on April 10, 2006, 11:17:28 PM Actually it doesn't. You can't see my right hand but for about 4 hours I had to CONSTANTLY press the rotate button or else the screen would fill up in roughly 4 seconds.
Title: Re: Gaming Victories [AKA Look at what I did!] Post by: Strazos on April 10, 2006, 11:22:41 PM Rapid Rotate = more placement time? I don't remember that feature.
Title: Re: Gaming Victories [AKA Look at what I did!] Post by: schild on April 10, 2006, 11:25:14 PM That's because it didn't exist before. But remember, once some blocks fall there's no way to rotate them out of crevices. There's a precarious state you have to stay in where there's no doublewide gap straight from the drop point so that you don't get fucked by 2x2 squares.
Title: Re: Gaming Victories [AKA Look at what I did!] Post by: dusematic on April 11, 2006, 12:23:32 AM So Fred Savage's character in The Wizard was based on a true story?

Sorry to disappoint: I stopped at the "hitman training" level. Not because it sucked the marrow from my skull, rather because it was just too hard. The difficulty jump is dramatic... or maybe I just have not figured out the trick. There could be a trick; it seems to actually be a puzzle game. The game leading up to my current impasse was surprisingly tolerable, once I realized that it was not really a FPS. |
