Well, postcounts have been low for a couple weeks and I feel the lack of solid entertainment....  In this spirit,  could you see fit to unban all the posters we love to hate?

I want to see Sirbruce pissing off legions,  and Boog arguing with Cevik!  Someone find Geldon and Mediocre!  Get DarkVengeance in here,  and chain Windup Atheisist to his computer!

And please sabotage all of Schild's gaming consoles, to ease his distraction.

Problem with the Boogs, DVs and such is that we're not going to get conversation. We're going to get bile and tubgirl.  No thanks.

Postcount hasn't gone down. It's just more spread out and less condensed to the 12-4pm EST. We get more posts at nights now and more posts on weekends.

In other news, Geldon, Mediocre, and Boog aren't banned. Or at least, they shouldn't be.

DV will never get amnesty. Nor will SB. We've learned our lessons.

The best thing to do here is to embrace the entire gaming kingdom instead of just this PC corner and ask developers to make more good games instead of more mediocre games.

Out of all the people named, only SirBruce really provides any sort of entertainment.  Boog and DV are both one-trick ponies.  They're just obnoxious.  Bruce has a much wider range of ways to fuck up threads.

And I can't prove it but I think the sb in sb.exe really stood for SirBruce.

Tell a mod to STFU.  That seems to provide some entertainment.

PS  SirBruce and DV aren't in the same catagory.  I think DV has a lump of cold, black stone where his heart should be.  Compared to him SB makes me feel warm and furry inside.

I have to agree that I find the inevitable SirBruce meltdown to be highly entertaining. Then again I don't have to police him. He usually manages to play nice for a few months and will be only moderately irritating (and daresay occasionally insightful) followed be a complete and utter implosion.

I think the legend of Sir Bruce is much worse than his actual impact. I never really saw anything too terribly offensive in his latest incarnation.

Bruce's brand of shitflinging not only pisses off the people who read it, those people cause hissy shit fits to mods. Then actually trying to talk to Bruce when he's WRONG is an exercise in futility. For every stupid comment Bruce says in a thread, it generates more work for one of the admins if not all. And in the end, HE'S NOT WORTH THE EFFORT.

He never admits he's wrong, changes arguments, flaunts his deviance as a badge of honor and if you give him the chance, he'll stalk you in private messages and email.

And his charts are works of fiction.

I don't think I could stomach watching Bruce argue with other people by dissecting the minutiae of posts point by excruciating point ad nauseam while at the same time constantly redefining and reframing arguments to whatever whimsical standard he feels like using that ensures he can never 'lose' the argument, no matter how far off the original topic he needs to go to do it.  I still remember the page after page of him claiming to be defending the country while never actually saying how.  Imagine that stupid Blizzard 'gaymer' thread, then imagine it with Bruce in it.  No thanks.

Bruce is entertaining in small doses. In the past, when unbanned, he usually posts fairly civily for the first few weeks. Honestly, he usually doesn't have a meltdown until one of you guys starts trying to goad him in to something. Alas, it only takes a little nudge to throw Bruce in to a fit of nonsensical arguing.

He actually often starts or contributes to interesting discussions before the meltdown starts. I find his crap entertaining, but I can understand why others don't want to deal with it.

I'd have to agree with Bunk. Bruce was...gross once you found out his habits. But he was kind of entertaining to watch at work. I would never, ever want to be in the same room with Bruce in real life, especially if I'm unarmed, but watching him on a forum can be kind of fascinating.

That and it's interesting to watch people try to bait him. The only one I can think of we bait these days is the dude who still thinks UO is an awesome game. (I totally forgot his name sorry.)

ETA: The only ones I can think of who still provide that kind of car wreck level forum entertainment would be:

Schild, just say the words Blizzard, WoW or Quentin Tarantino (I'd love to see a Blizzard version of a QT movie)

Unbanning Bruce is usually one of the signs that the current incarnation of the Diaspora is about to go the way of the dodo- I seriously remember LTM/SND/Waterthread unbanning him very short times before their implosions.

He may not be a Horseman of the Apocolypse, but one of them is definitely riding him. 

I'd love to give up my habit of finding one game I like and playing it in favor of reveling in the community-approved cycle of follwing Crappy Diku #4621 through beta, playing it for a month after release, then throwing it on the trash-heap, only to come back six months later when they finally patch in roflcopters, and finally quitting again after another week.  Really, I would.  Secretly I'm jealous of all the AO DAoC CoH DDO players.

At least we enjoy each other and enjoy playing games together.  Maybe we should act more pompous about what we play.

One of my guildmates is planning to build a casino.  He'll buy a max-sized house, customize and decorate it appropriately, and hire some guildies to run games of chance.  I'm no expert, but he seems to think we can make piles of easy lewtz as long as the operation is reasonably honest and entertaining.  I didn't feel like running a game, but I did agree to bring in my joke "roleplay" character, Lando Calrissian, to act as MC when they open.  Maybe we'll run some dogfights or cockfights and let people gamble on those too.  Chicken Fight Club on the Great Lakes Shard seemed to be doing very well for itself with those sort of events, last time I checked.

But right, I'm the idiot here.  After all, the graphics are undeniably shitty.

I should be playing a real MMO game.  I should be lining up with several dozen catass-scented addicts for three or four hours for every night, listening to King Catass scream himself hoarse over Ventrilo while we kill the same shitty boss we'll be killing again tomorrow, in hopes that this will be the night one of our legion will get his Leggings of Foozlefuck.  Mmm, endgame goodness.  Hit it like you mean it indeed.

I figure I should clear this up a bit - I am Mediocre.  My apologies for any confusion.  I've used a lot of nicknames in this community, but that was never out of a desire to confuse, more just my own flightiness.  I was originally Hyu back when Player2Player and Slownewsday were big, Joe and Rain had me take the name "Deified" (anagrams yay!) when Waterthread started and I was writing for him, I was Mediocre when they allowed me back in at Corpnews for a spell, and Televangelist is the name I've used on most non-LtM-related MMO forums forever.  I didn't use the Mediocre name when I decided to start posting here because I honestly didn't remember that I'd ever registered at F13 before - the last time I remember being here was back when it was Waterthread.

My apologies for any confusion created.  I didn't mean to evade anything, as evidenced by my copious references to AC1 experience.

...I don't know if you guys ever saw it on CorpNews, but shortly before being banned, in a nonsequitur thread that he hadn't even been involved in, completely out of the blue Bruce posted a deep psychosexual profile of himself.  Everything - his neuroses, his complete sexual history, etcetera.  I think the post got nuked, but if you find it in google cache or something...  I've never been faced with such a tough choice over whether to laugh or cry.

I think I'm better off not knowing the intimate details.  That sounds like the sort of knowledge that could take years off of your life.
