Title: The Shield Post by: Morfiend on March 15, 2006, 11:32:34 AM Just wondering if anyone saw last night episode of the Shield. I absolutly love this show. I think this season has been the best one so far, and for me, the Shield is the best show on TV. Forrest Witiker has been great, in that you hate him, but you can also kind of feel sorry for him, as the same time. He makes a great villian because he isnt really a villian, and its all just a matter of perspective.
I am very excited to see what happens next week, but I dont want the season to end. Every week it just seems to get better and better. I think this is the one show on TV that isnt letting me down at all. I hope they win an emmy, although it will probably go to Lost (which IMO has not been very good this season, except for the last episode). So, how do you guys feel about the Shield this season? Title: Re: The Shield Post by: Furiously on March 15, 2006, 11:51:00 AM Tune in next week as Vic Makey almost gets caught again!
Title: Re: The Shield Post by: HaemishM on March 15, 2006, 11:55:36 AM I've liked this season, but I've liked all the seasons. It does feel like they need it end it soon, though, simply on the premise that Mackey can only keep it up for so long without getting killed or caught. I hope either this season or the next is the last one, simply to have a resolution.
Title: Re: The Shield Post by: Abagadro on March 15, 2006, 11:57:45 AM My half-assed speculation:
Corrine kills Kavanaugh when he goes off the deep end and tries to seduce her and she won't go along with it. This convinces the department that Kavanaugh was nuts and drops the case against Lem. This convinces the department that Kavanaugh was nuts and drops the case against Lem. I think it would be more plausable that Emmalia kills Kavanaugh because she is to afraid of Mackey, and cant get out of the deal. I dont think that will happen though. I really dont know how this season is going to end. What I really like about this season is that they are actually facing consiquences from presvious seasions. Its not like "Oh thats over, no reprocussions". Title: Re: The Shield Post by: Margalis on March 15, 2006, 05:05:34 PM This season has been fucking incredible.
The episode on Tuesday was amazing. This really does feel different from previous scrapes they've been in because they are now just flailing and it's clear they have no fucking plan whatsoever and everything has gone horribly wrong. The scene where their break-in went south was a true holy shit what now moment. Title: Re: The Shield Post by: Nazrat on March 17, 2006, 05:34:56 AM The break in was awesome but the next scene when Whittaker compares the current robbery to the death of Terry, the undercover cop, was crazy. Vic really had the Doh! face going.
Title: Re: The Shield Post by: HaemishM on March 17, 2006, 07:23:59 AM This week's episode was real good. The preview for next week makes it seem like the SERIES finale instead of season finale, but then I'm not sure how they are going to go on from here anyway. Of course, I thought the same thing when they busted up the strike team after season 3, and they managed two more good seasons out of it after that.
Title: Re: The Shield Post by: Margalis on March 17, 2006, 07:40:07 AM I would like for the next season to be more laid back, focused more on characters and less on plot. I think after this I'll have had all the drama I can take. (I mean that in the best way possible)

Title: Re: The Shield Post by: Margalis on March 21, 2006, 11:52:52 PM Jeez...
That pretty much sums that up. Damn. These last two episodes have been insane. This show deserves all kinds of emmys. Most TV comes off as silly and contrived to me, but this really had me sucked in. Sometimes when bad things happen (I'll be vague for people who haven't seen it yet) it seems like the creators are just trying to get you down and beat on you. ("A Simple Plan" or "House of Sand and Fog") But this doesn't feel like that. What has happened makes perfect sense. I don't feel like everything is blowing up just because someone wanted to have everything blow up - given the characters and what has happened so far it feels right, not forced. It's really hard to get that sort of thing right and they've done an awesome job. Title: Re: The Shield Post by: Morfiend on March 22, 2006, 11:28:24 AM Im a :sad_panda:
