Title: Re: Got Game? Post by: schild on March 14, 2006, 10:55:18 PM [Tens of] Thousands of dollars on games and a $100 recliner to sit in. That guy is a moron of the highest order. I probably have, I don't know, 500-700 games across all systems, but it's a tight specific collection of rareties and things with high replayability. This guy probably hasn't and never will play 90% of them. He should donate it to PA's omegathon. And look at that fucking TV. Goddamn. Someone put him out of his misery.
Edit: Oh, and those bookshelves? $39 a piece. Basically, his priorities put my panties in a bunch. If you're gonna have a collection that obscene, do it right, you can obviously afford to. And I might know whose basement that is. There was a guy in Maryland who bought every release for every system. Almost never ever ever traded in stuff. Had every variant of every American system. About a year ago he redid all his shelves to match and his basement and never lets his kids down there unless he's with them. Could very well be him. Yes, he was our best and worst customer. Title: Re: Got Game? Post by: Kenrick on March 15, 2006, 04:46:13 AM That's just compeltely obscene. There is definitely some sort of underlying sociopathic problem when someone owns that many video games. Unless, of course, they'd won a powerball jackpot or something. But if you're putting yourself in a financial bind to feed your weird gaming fetish/addiction/whatever, then that's different. And considering the quality of the TV, chair, and shelves, as schild pointed out... I don't think we're looking at a multi-millionaire. I feel really sorry for the kid in those pics for some reason.

He's probably the most popular kid on the street, though.Title: Re: Got Game? Post by: Signe on March 15, 2006, 06:51:05 AM That room definitely belongs to a man. We have a room like that only it's filled with music albums, CDs and DVDs. I can't move around enough to thouroughly dust that room. Men.
Title: Re: Got Game? Post by: MrHat on March 15, 2006, 07:52:40 AM Does that treadmill have a tv with inputs?
Title: Re: Got Game? Post by: Strazos on March 15, 2006, 10:46:31 AM Schild, where the fuck do you keep that many games (I am assuming you mean hard copies, not stored software or emulated)?
Hell, how did you even move them when you moved? I'm not sure I even own 100 games. Heck, not sure if I have owned 100 games overall. Title: Re: Got Game? Post by: Yegolev on March 15, 2006, 11:19:58 AM Probably not the same guy, judging by that pic with the kid, dog and Hotwheels cars in it. Each of those three alone are like kryptonite to valuables.
I don't really know how many games I have. I had more, lost some over the years (recently found that copy of Ultima Collection, woo!). They are generally in two places: scattered around my office (PC and secondary console) and in the pantry behind my entertainment center. The games for the three primary consoles are stored there on a Elfa shelf, a line of about eight feet I guess. Maybe nine feet. Some are stacked on top. The time draws near when I will have to do something about my wife's candle collection and sprawl to a second shelf. The day I end up with something like that guy... I trust the f13 staff will do the right thing. At least I have a good TV and sound system even if I haven't played - or even unwrapped - every game. Title: Re: Got Game? Title: Re: Got Game? Post by: Morfiend on March 15, 2006, 04:05:03 PM That looks like a store storage room of some kind. If you look closely, there are ton of duplicates. And they are all in the packaging.
