After the first 'attack ad' using the Republican's Social Security couple, Reese Witherspoon looked mortified that the ad was in favor of her. You're getting paid millions to play dress-up, have a sense of humor about it. Spielberg didn't look amused that first Stewart and then Stiller felt like pointing him out, either. I loved his joke about all the damn montages, though he didn't win any friends with that one either. Salma was HAWT. So was Keira Knightley. Stewart did a good job. 3-6 Mafia were actually in suits and tuxes and stuff when they came in and when they left for the after parties. The only reason they accepted their award all "thugged out" was because they had just done the Pimp number and were caught off guard. Hayek bares it all, it's a good movie, and you even stop staring at her unibrow when there isn't a nude scene on. She's one of the best actresses working in Hollywood, IMO, and being one of the most classically beautiful women I've ever seen doesn't hurt.

Every character will interact with the others in a serendipitous accident and they'll all learn a valuable lesson!" schtick that was old hat when Magnolia did it 7 years ago. C) Repeated the old Hollywood mantra about how we're all horrible bigoted people, and only the brave artistes in LaLa Land have the sensitivity to show us the ugly truth. D) Committed the unpardonable sin; was preachy and cheesy to boot. I repeat, it absolutely sucked. I don't agree mate. Coincidences aboutnd sure - but that's the premise of the film - not unlike a number of Shakespear plays that make use of remarkable similiarity / disguises that allow characters to pass for one another creating new plot elements - not really plausible - but we take it as a given and go from there. For me the take home was that people are complicated. They are often never simply evil or good. Matt Dillon was a guy to despise for his actions in some parts and praise for his actions in others. Simple labels often just do not do most people justice - the message of the film. That may be obvious to most of us on F13 - but for mainstream - unfortanately - it may not be so obvious. It's damn scary but wonderful to be a father (and your wifes breast will be growing*).
