Title: Ventrilo anyone? Post by: Big Gulp on February 27, 2006, 03:07:11 PM Typing is for cavemen and the Amish. I've got a Vent server just laying idle that everyone is welcome to use (and I hope you will, I might as well be paying $6.95 a month for a reason).
voice54.hurricanehost.com port 3830 Hope to hear you guys in-game. Title: Re: Ventrilo anyone? Post by: Viin on February 27, 2006, 03:18:35 PM How many users can it have?
Title: Re: Ventrilo anyone? Post by: Big Gulp on February 27, 2006, 03:22:17 PM How many users can it have? 15, but I can always upgrade if need be. Title: Re: Ventrilo anyone? Post by: Viin on February 27, 2006, 03:46:54 PM Well, we don't want you to pay for it!
We have the F13 teamspeak server we can use, though I think BGO wants to be on the same server as us so we can talk to them. We might end up using BGO's Teamspeak server depending on what Schild/Shockeye say. Title: Re: Ventrilo anyone? Post by: Evangolis on February 27, 2006, 03:50:03 PM The problem I've seen with Vent (other than my inability to make my mike an acceptable volume) has been security, lurkers on the channel and such. I don't know spit about establishing security in this stuff, but I do know it can be an issue.
By it does have flailing at the keyboard beat just all hollow. Title: Re: Ventrilo anyone? Not a problem, I can password the server and just let people know as needed. As to Teamspeak... Eh, I just don't like it as a voice app. Quality seems to be much worse than Vent provides. I'll try harder next time.)
Title: Re: Ventrilo anyone? Post by: schild on February 28, 2006, 03:27:03 AM Already sent Viin a message. Feel free to use the f13 teamspeak server. That's what it's for.
Title: Re: Ventrilo anyone? Post by: Morfiend on March 19, 2006, 01:29:47 PM So, does the EVE crue have voice com?
I started the game, and need some thing to do other than flail away at the keyboard while flying from jumpgate to jumpgate. Also, I would probably have a lot less "Huh?" moments if some one could explain stuff to me in voice rather than chat. Title: Re: Ventrilo anyone? Post by: hal on March 19, 2006, 02:37:22 PM The ts server is down and has been down. Just saying.
