Title: What's Lum up to?
Post by: Lt.Dan on February 17, 2006, 05:01:14 PM
So, I read on Lum's website he's left Mythic for the sunny SW.  Still working on MMOs and no longer able to use the "I'm just a DB coder" excuse for discussing or not discussing game design.

Gentlemen, start you speculation...

Also, I'd like some comment about your motivation on icon selection.  Are you trying to cause epiliepsy, do you like that shit, etc?

Is Stargate going to have PVP or not? At first I thought it was going to have some zones, but reading a recent press release it sounded like it was a bunch of non-combat classes that fight NPC factions for world control.

Bagels are the new croissants. It took years and years for us Jews to insure that. Einstein Bros Bagels isn't called Einstein Bros Croissants, but they sell the latter french butter roll as a fine side to your gourmet style BAGEL.

You know what's cool?  I can be in the middle of no where, miles and miles from a good jewish deli, and if there is an Einstein Bros around I can get a Lox & Cream Cheese on a toasted garlic bagel thats not awful for $5.99.

You laud 25 cents worth of bread, some old fish, and 10 cents of dairy product for $5.99.. yet I bet anything that if I told you I bought a latte for $4 you'd freak out about how Starbucks is ruining our country.

I can get a bagel(any variety) with cream cheese on it for ~$1.65 here in Rochester from Tim Horton's.  There's no way a 'Lox'(whatever that is) is worth four bucks.

Yes.. Murgos was talking about spreading cream cheese and smoked salmon paste onto a garlic bagel.

So, basically, you couldn't pay me $5.99 to eat, never mind me paying someone else for the priviledge.

I get a Grande at my Starbucks for $3.25.

edit: Not salmon paste.  It's actual smoked salmon (at least around here.)

edit the second:  Also, you forgot the capers, onions and tomato.

Almost every monday morning at Standsted airport my breakfast consists of a smoked salmon sandwich, muffin, apple, and orange juice. That costs around £8.50. Which translates into about 15 of your fine american dollars.

There most certainly are circumstances when lox is worth 4 bucks.

You're all just getting old.

Title: Re: What's Lum up to?

There is no amount of money that is too much for good lox or nova. Seriously. $20? Ok, but put some extra capers on there.

But hey, I'm Jewish. Lox is a goddamn necessity. It's what gives us the ability to breath. While Manischevitz gives us the ability to count money.

Urbandictionary is not supposed to have the real definition for a word. Only the slang definition. If it had the real definition I'd be unhappier because then I'd know people think of it as slang. Which it isn't.
