Title: Best Mods?
Post by: Train Wreck on February 15, 2006, 03:06:08 PM
Many of my favorite mods are no longer supported, and some were broken by the introduction of multiple battle queues, in particular the Titan Bar.  What's everybody using these days?  I still rely mostly on CTMod, RAssist, Benecast (which no longer seems to work on players outside of my party), and Decursive.

Is there a better mod than Benecast for Priests?

I take it your a priest? A few good mods to get are.

Scrolling Combat Text (or SCT) - Awsome mod. Once you get it, you cant live with out it.
SpellAlert - Tells you who is casting spells near you. Very helpful. Pretty customizable also.
CCWatch - Put bars on your screan. Very customizable. Helpful for timing sheeps and banishes. Also does debuffs and dots.

If your a warlock gets Necrosis-LdC a must have.

I use like 1/4th of the Cosmos suite. Scrolling Combat Text, Quick looter, sticky channels, The Gatherer, The Auctioneer, that's about all I can remember distinctly.

All of these suggestions are good - However, Titan is still working fine for me...

Fucking none.

I am too tired of updating mods everytime there is a patch.  I've just learned to work with the default UI as best I can.

Like L'Oreal, it's worth it.

Same with Macros.  I can't believe I used to play my warrior without the stance-dancing macros for pummel, execute, charge and berserker rage.  I have more, but they're SECRET !

For any healer, benecast is a must, completely changes the way the healing game is played, makes it much more laid back.

I recently picked up BGInvite because people on my server are idiots and will literally sit 2 mins saying "invite me noob" at the beginning of a BG.

I have a threshold.  I LOVE Scrolling Combat Text and Auctioneer, and everyone in my guild is addicted to Loot link (including me).

I used to run Insomniax compilation, and I still know a lot of people who can't do without it, but for my time, waiting for the IX patches and reorganizing my screen after each WOW patch was way too much work.

I used to use Gatherer and found it really useful.  I'll probably reinstall it sooner or later.

I have a fixed version of benecast, pm me your email and I'll mail it to you, unless there is a way for me to attach it to the thread so everyone can use it (without hosting, I have yet to pick up a filehost since I moved away from my old ISP)..  Also, if you download the latest Titan Panel it fixes the problems with multiple battle queues..

I use, for my base package, ometh's nmod (http://www.ometh.com/).. that includes CTMod, Titan Panel, flexbar, auctioneer, either Nurfed player frames or Perl player frames, your choice.. and a BAZILLION other things.. :)

In addition I also use Nurfed HUD, Servitude Ressurection, Shard Tracker Ressurection and Countdoom Ressurection..

That  would be great, cevik.  I'm at mrcranky18@yahoo.com.

As far as TitanBar, it works except for the honor errors whenever I'm in a queue, so I had to turn the whole thing off.  Glad to hear they've gotten around to fixing it.

Got it, Thanks.  I'll have to wait for bliz to resuscitate ER so I can test it out.

Maybe it's time to bring back Zulartic on ED (my priest that I don't use much, though I was fairly good with back in the day.)

My main's a mage.

I run nurfed beta which includes the new titan panel with honor+ that doesn't error out. It's still in beta and heavy development, but so far so good. If you want to check my current setup (it seems to change weekly, I'm never happy!) here are some screenshots:

Edit: View full size my ass, they downconvert it. Here are the full screenshots:

A list of my addons.
I don't run autobar, MCT (for enabling/disabling addons after runtime), or af tooltip they come with nurfed, I prefer tipbuddy by far and the other two I don't need.

!ImprovedErrorFrame
ABInfo
ABInfo BlizzardBars
ABInfo NurfedBars
AF_Tooltip
AutoBar
AutoBuff
BGinvite
CombatStats
CT_MailMod
CT_RABossMods
CT_RaidAssist
DamageMeters
DruidBar
ItemRack
MCP
MobHealth
Nurfed_ActionBars
Nurfed_CombatLog
Nurfed_General
Nurfed_Hud
Nurfed_UnitFrames
Nurfed_Utility
sct
TipBuddy
Titan
TitanClassTracker
TitanSpeed
TrinketMenu
UberQuest

Some of those are convienience, I can't live without nurfed action bars / unit frames, sct, titan and it's mods, itemrack, autobuff, and CTRA.

I don't use benecast on my druid becuase I'm not a clicker. I use CTRA's emergency monitor to heal in battlegrounds and it works fine, assuming I can get herd all of the cats into one raid.

I don't even play anymore but when i did (recently retired) i really found Titan and Scrolling Combat Text to be invaluable. I also liked auctioneer although it was a hassle to maintain sometimes.

Do any of those show players' health as a percentage?
