Too bad for them! Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: HaemishM on January 23, 2006, 09:05:06 AM Too bad the Seahawks are going to lose to the glory that is Rothliesberger!
Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: Signe on January 23, 2006, 09:07:38 AM I am rooting for Seattle because they have a space needle!
Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: WayAbvPar on January 23, 2006, 09:15:20 AM Too bad the Seahawks are going to lose to the glory that is Rothliesberger! Big Ben needs to shave and lose. Not necessarily in that order. Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: Triforcer on January 23, 2006, 09:15:59 AM Too bad the Seahawks are going to lose to the glory that is Rothliesberger! Findlay, Ohio, baby! where some of my aunts and uncles and cousins live and 40 min from where I grew up. Although it is somewhat of an abomination to have Steelerism spreading in northwest Ohio, we back our boy. The irony is that Roethlisberger didn't even start until his senior year of high school. The coach at the time was some guy who made sure his mediocre son started while Ben rode the bench. Revengefulness is sweet . Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: Yegolev on January 23, 2006, 09:21:21 AM I am going to have to go with the Seahawks... unless Carolina really did suck that much. I don't care for Pittsburgh. The city.
Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: Strazos on January 23, 2006, 09:37:43 AM I predict a boring game.
Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: El Gallo on January 23, 2006, 09:47:57 AM The junior varsity conference team has no real chance without a bunch of breaks.
Oh yeah, I went there! Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: shiznitz on January 23, 2006, 11:27:11 AM Ben's going to choke. Oh well.
Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: Mr_PeaCH on January 23, 2006, 11:49:11 AM Props to the Seahawks! I'm very happy for my NW brethren. They sure made a mess of Carolina's defense... Pittsburg is a more physical team to be sure. But my money is on Sean Alexander; he is sooo underrated.
Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: UD_Delt on January 23, 2006, 12:52:45 PM Fuck the steelers... Fuck them directly in the goat ass...
Yeah I lived in Findlay for 6 months, I still don't give a rat's ass about Rothlisberger. All you need to know about Findlay is the fact that the only notable degree offered by their local college was equestrian studies. Nuff said. Another week of listening to a friend of mine, who lives in Cleveland, yet is a Steelers fan for the sole purpose of acting like a raging asshole, douche-bag (yeah he grew up there but fuck him too.) Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: Righ on January 23, 2006, 12:53:01 PM Rothliesberger is great, but I think the Seahawks are taking this all the way. There's going to be a lot less room for Pittsburgh to open up plays with the Seahawks defense. A defense that can shut down Steve Smith so completely isn't going to leave a lot of open targets for Rothliesberger. It's going to be a tough game for the Steelers, and they'll have to carry the ball through the opposing defense more. And the Seahawks defense may be short of a few pounds, but they have both lightning fast folks and some astonishing instincts.
Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: Llava on January 25, 2006, 01:00:53 AM So is this Super Bowl supposed to be larger than the others?
:rimshot: I am a bad person. Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: Paelos on January 25, 2006, 02:00:51 AM I'll go out on a limb and say this. The Seahawks are going to get smoked. Why?
Because if they win, I have a 5-1 bet in Vegas that pays me $100. Sports itself would never let me win money on football. Go ahead and make our bets now. Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: Sky on January 25, 2006, 06:23:43 AM Hey, reverse pickology is my gig!
Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: Sachant on January 25, 2006, 10:19:37 AM Too bad the Seahawks are going to lose to the glory that is Rothliesberger! Have my baby Haemish? Born a Steeler fan in Pittsburgh and always will be a Steeler fan. Ben's not going to choke because Ben has shown that he and his team are the ones that are calm cool and collected under pressure while the other teams have fallen apart. They just need to continue being consistent in their play and be patient with themselves. This is our year so SUCK IT Seahawk fans. ;) You all can have Superbowl next year but this one is for Jerome and for Cowher not to mention Dan Rooney deserves this as well. Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: Soukyan on January 25, 2006, 10:25:41 AM  Steelers
I must agree with Haem and Sachant on this one. It's the 'Burgh's year to win. And there's no doubt about it. Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: Furiously on January 25, 2006, 01:08:05 PM The wife laid some cash down on the hawks, just enough that if they win, it will pay for a trip to Vegas to pick up the winnings....
Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: Sachant on January 25, 2006, 01:13:20 PM I hope she'll be ok with dissapointment.
Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: HaemishM on January 25, 2006, 01:23:36 PM That's way too damn easy. I'll refrain.
Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: Furiously on January 25, 2006, 01:33:18 PM I think it was 20 bucks at the time she placed the bet. It was back when the odds were, "You want to bet on who?" or "Oh there's a sucker bet". And no - she won't be disappointed - she laid another $20 on them winning the division.
Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: Sachant on January 25, 2006, 01:48:58 PM That's way too damn easy. I'll refrain. LOL This isn't the year for the Seahawks. I think you all should take my generous offer and go for Superbowl next year. I'll make a deal with Cowher to make it seem like the Steelers are going to go well but then someone will suddenly get an 'injury' and we'll lose just enough so that the Seachickens can play someone else they can beat. *eg* (BTW... I actually like the Seahawks and I'm looking forward to the game. I think it will be a good one. I just hope the officiating is clean.) Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: Hoax on January 25, 2006, 01:53:59 PM Fuck the Steelers.
I hope Ben gets his fucking legs ripped off in some kind of freak accident. I'm pulling for the 'hawks by default, fuck the punk ass bitch steelers. Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: Righ on January 25, 2006, 02:03:38 PM So is this Super Bowl supposed to be larger than the others? I thought XL was American for 'small'. Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: WayAbvPar on January 25, 2006, 02:04:40 PM Quote I just hope the officiating is clean Don't forget competent. It has been uniformly awful this entire postseason- it is an embarrassment. Have they announced which crew is working the game? I am hoping it is Mike Carey- he is easily the best ref in the league IMHO. Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: Sachant on January 25, 2006, 02:19:52 PM The officiating for the Steeler/Denver game was really clean. I was surprised and was expecting a lot of back and forth penalty calls but they were very careful about it. Of course I heard it was their 'all star' officiating team for both that game and for the Panther/Seahawk game.
btw Hoax. You really need to learn to express yourself. I'm still unsure as to what you were saying just then. ;) Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: Soukyan on January 25, 2006, 02:24:34 PM Clean officiating?
The first half is the Steelers vs. Seahawks and the second is the Steelers vs. Zebras. Didn't you check your official program? Title: Re: Super Bowl XL Post by: Sachant on January 25, 2006, 02:54:12 PM Well they did get caught with some dumb penalties. I think they were legit and it certainly didn't hurt us. It's the Indy game that was totally about the Steelers vs the Zebras. I think my husband was about ready to lock me in the closet and not let me watch the end of the game. He hates watching games with me when I get pissed. LOL
