Title: Globalization Post by: Issele on January 14, 2006, 05:03:03 AM Question: What is the truest definition of Globalization?
Answer: Princess Diana's death. Question: How come? Answer: An English princess with an Egyptian boyfriend crashes in a French tunnel, driving a German car with a Dutch engine, driven by a Belgian who was drunk on Scottish whisky, (check the bottle before you change the spelling) followed closely by Italian Paparazzi, on Japanese motorcycles; treated by an American doctor, using Brazilian medicines. This is sent to you by an Assyrian, using Bill Gates's technology, and you're probably reading this on your computer, that uses Taiwanese chips, and a Korean monitor, assembled by Bangladeshi workers in a Singapore plant, transported by Indian lorry-drivers, hijacked by Indonesians, unloaded by Sicilian longshoremen, and trucked to you by Mexicans. That, my friends, is Globalization Title: Re: Globalization Post by: schild on January 14, 2006, 05:04:49 AM Quote Question: What is the truest definition of Globalization? Anyway, stop posting pictures of non-Danish Danish. Stick with donuts and stuff you know how to make right, because your country sucks at making Danish. Title: Re: Globalization Post by: Tale on January 14, 2006, 07:25:50 PM Princess Diana's death. News of which I heard on a British ferry leaving France for Dover, after 30 hours by bus from Poland with an Australian woman, following four months of bicycle travel starting in the Netherlands, through Belgium, France, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Hungary again, Slovakia again, to Warsaw. After attending my grandmother's 90th birthday in London, I caught the return bus to Warsaw and a train to Moscow, then trans-Siberian and trans-Mongolian trains to Beijing. After a while in southern China, I headed for Hong Kong where a doctor thought I might have malaria and I hopped the first flight home to Sydney. There's no such place to introduce yourself. I think someone did...successfully....once. That might have been me though. And given my "position" I definately wouldn't call it successful. Anyway, just start talking. Introductions end up being painful. Title: Re: Globalization Post by: WayAbvPar on January 17, 2006, 01:19:39 PM The best way to do it is to start a new thread pimping your own website. That goes over extremely well here.

I am/was an old UO player, started playing UO when it went live...on Atlantic... 8 years ago? Ouch... A gamer/female... trying to do what I can to bring facts to the gaming community through Stratics and pump info out of Thunderheart and DEV team for the poor SWG Community... guess that is the basic... in UO I was a Smurff for 3 years on centeral and I have a degree in Creative writing and focus on the Gaming Industry. Title: Re: Globalization Post by: schild on January 17, 2006, 01:28:53 PM Well, I've found your problem. There are no facts about the gaming industry, just misinformation.
Title: Re: Globalization Post by: Issele on January 17, 2006, 01:31:50 PM Well, I've found your problem. There are no facts about the gaming industry, just misinformation. So true... I have been watching the war going on in the industry and followed Raph when he went to the Conference oversea's to promote RMT concept... rather interesting conference to monitor. Title: Re: Globalization Post by: Wolf on January 17, 2006, 02:26:14 PM On introductions - just use an avvy with a cute Asian chick and throw an off comment in a random thread. Works wonders, you get instantly accepted! I know one dude that did that, he's a legend around here... ummm... yeah :)
On cupcakes - great. I want a cupcake now. And it's 1 AM and I'm CRAVING a cupcake. On globalisation - Who-what now? I need no fancy-shmancy globalisation... Title: Re: Globalization Post by: Paelos on January 17, 2006, 04:45:19 PM What the hell is Stratics and why do we hate it again?

A f13.net FAQ? Shit that could either be utterly useless or comedy gold. Or both? @Issele: You are doing better then I did, my first post got a thread denned and shockeye yelled at me. Title: Re: Globalization Post by: Righ on January 18, 2006, 11:39:28 AM Whisky is usually a reference to Scotch Whisky, which cannot be manufactured outside Scotland. Canada and Japan also use the spelling Whisky, which caused hissy fits back when. I seem to recall Nova Scotia being blessed and some Japanese comapny (Suntory?) doing a dirty and naming it's distillery "Scotland" and actually labelling its product "Made in Scotland" until beaten up by some trade commision. Since Suntory own a couple of dozen important Scottish distilleries now and actually make very good whisky (including Bowmore), they're fairly well respected these days.

It looked like a yummy sammich, not a gooey dessert. I don't know what it is. It looks good and I want one, but, sheesh... all that sugar! I might as well replace my pancreas with a gumball machine. Title: Re: Globalization Post by: Murgos on January 21, 2006, 05:19:22 AM I can't eat them, after about 3 bite's they make me physically ill from all the grease and sugar. It's like eating a meat and cheese filled bready donut with sugar and preserves.
Title: Re: Globalization Post by: Strazos on January 21, 2006, 09:40:26 AM They're sugary, and served with fries and pickles? :-o
Title: Re: Globalization Post by: Signe on January 21, 2006, 10:35:22 AM I didn't realise there was sugar either. It only looks good now... I don't think I'd like to eat one. Blech.

Title: Re: Globalization Post by: Rodent on January 22, 2006, 06:20:57 AM I have to agree with the man who lives in the land of deep fried Mars bars. I thought it was deep fried Bounty's? Ah well they're rebelious scots, they probably fry'em both. Title: Re: Globalization Post by: Tale on January 22, 2006, 05:16:03 PM Memories of my 10 years in Scotland reliably inform me that deep fried Mars bars came first. All kinds of deep fried imitations followed.
Ooh, swg.stratics.com has a guide I wrote (http://swg.stratics.com/content/gameplay/guides/guides.php?Cat=65&uid=160), which is completely meaningless now thanks to the CU and NGE revamps of SWG. Title: Re: Globalization Post by: Righ on January 22, 2006, 06:06:14 PM That SWG guide wasn't deep fried. Do you expect me to eat it RAW?
