Title: The Onion gets it right again. Post by: Nebu on December 15, 2005, 02:27:09 PM If you happen to love the Onion's brand of satire, this (http://www.theonion.com/content/node/43441) commentary on video games hits the mark.
Quote from: The Onion NEW YORK— Electronic-entertainment giant Take-Two Interactive, parent company of Grand Theft Auto series creator Rockstar Games, released Stacker Tuesday, a first-person vertical-crate-arranger guaranteed not to influence young people's behavior in any way. "With Stacker, the player interacts with an environment full of boxes—lightweight, uniformly brown boxes with rounded corners—and uses diligence and repetitive hard work to complete his mission," said Doug Benzies, Stacker's chief developer. "We're confident that the new 'reluctantly interactive' content engine we designed will prevent any excitement or emotional involvement, inappropriate or otherwise, on the part of the player." I think they should cap box stacking to only 2 high. Also, the term box is sometimes used for vagina. I think they should be called cubes. Title: Re: The Onion gets it right again. Post by: Sky on December 16, 2005, 06:27:37 AM Those brown boxes are clearly racist! And you could probably arrange them in the form of a cross, which offends my militant islamic beliefs.
Holiday infant, people, can't you make a game without taking potshots at minorities?! edit: Oh by the heathen saint nicholas, pagan briber of children with materialistic rewards! The main character is clearly a WHITEY. This offends my multiracial heritage, which I don't exactly know because my parents both left me in a dumpster. Furthermore, those little squares look like little cubes of fudge. Is the real name of this game "fudge stacker?" I think I see a homophobe pattern here! Wait -- of course! -- why didn't I see it before? This game is about *stacking*, which must also be an obvious "coded" reference to *stacked* -- like Pamela Anderson -- which means it's also demeaning to women since not all women are stacked. I'll bet this game's easter egg is Pamela Anderson's censored pole dance from the Elton John's concert!! Title: Re: The Onion gets it right again.
