Title: Deus Ex - The Original One, mod question
Post by: schild on December 09, 2005, 11:33:11 PM
Like System Shock, are there any upgraded textures available on the net for the original Deus Ex?

Wow. Way to beat my own thread. WINNAR (http://offtopicproductions.com/hdtp/). Not done, but it's good to know someone will work for free.

Isn't a "hummer" a dirty thing?  I wonder why they named a car after it?

The name followed the military abbreviation.  There are some pretty positive secondary connotations of 'Hummer', although as a big fan of oral sex, I kind of think the primary sexual meaning is a Good Thing.

Nice find Schild, I'll have to keep an eye on that. I've had an urge to replay Deus again, but low-res eye candy just makes me cry these days.

We are spoiled.

If by dirty you mean lobster. Then yes, it's a very dirty thing in Swedish.

It's hummer in Norwegian, too.  I like my hummer dipped in smor.

mmmm... hummer.

By amazing coincidence, I'd looked up that site a few days ago.  Replaying Deus Ex just to be funny (hard mode, non-lethal weapons only), and was poking around to see if anyone had done a graphics update.  Sadly, Deus Ex is lagging behind not only System Shock 2, but also Deus Ex 2, which was released with shitty Xbox-quality textures and has had a community-made texture update for something like a year now.  Well, better late than never!  I love people who update old games with nice eye candy, really appreciate that sort of effort.
