HELP US GIVE THE ??? FAMILY A MERRY CHRISTMAS

This is a reminder that the Office of Multicultural Affairs will be in the Student Center Lobby collecting donations for the ??? family who lost everything to Hurricane Katrina. The contributions to date are greatly appreciated. The second collection opportunity has arrived.

December 5 – 6, 2005

11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

If you can’t drop of your Christmas gifts during these times, the Office of Multicultural Affairs is located on the 2nd floor of the Student Center, Suite 210.  We will be more than happy to accept your donations there.  At least one family will have Christmas this year because of the administration, faculty, staff and students here at Rowan University.

??? Family Wish List

john ??? would like:

- gift certificate for footlocker for sneakers

- hip-hop style clothing

(John is a 15 year old teenager who is 6 feet tall, wears a 2XX shirt, 38w/34L pant, a size 12 shoe, and is a, still, growing boy).

lorinell ??? would like:

- gift certificates for wal-mart so she can buy the food and things they need such as:

   towels

   wash cloths

   plates

   toaster

   iron/board

   glasses/cups

   etc…

- gift certificate for jcpenny, lane bryant or ashley stewart

(Ms. ??? is a young woman trying to raise her son alone and help him adjust to his abruptly changed and new life in Texas.  She wears a 24/26 size shirt, 18/20 size pant, and a size 10 shoe).

Personally, if I had just lost pretty much everything I owned, and I didn't have the money to replace any of it because I had just blown the last of it on 50 Cent's Bulletproof, I wouldn't be so damn choosy. Some food, water, and clean clothes would be the most I could hope for.

Sigh.  :sad_panda:

Not sure why I read that, but:

I'm pretty sure that's not what they meant...gramatically speaking.

He should specify that he wants Sean John, Enyce and some K-Swiss kicks so he can holla at his boys in Texas.

I just noticed that he failed to request replacement Bling.

The Office of Multicultural Affairs isn't helping to dispell any stereotypes with that list.

They left off generic-brand grape soda, menthols, and ramen.

I noticed that one as well. I'm waiting for the Diversity Committee to come along and request an edit on the list, changing "hip-hop style" to "urban." I mean, WTF Strazos, do you go to PCU?

I would redirect you to that office's website, but....

They seem to matter so little that their site hasn't been transferred over to the new system. Oh well, it's not like they ever do anything I care about. I usually just glance over the messages they spam us students with on a constant basis.

They even had a forum a while back on the concerns of on-campus diversity, or somesuch nonsense. I only thought it was an issue because someone was making it an issue.

I believe you're right.  I think it should've been "and is a (still) growing boy".  I'm not entirely certain, but it seems to imply that he's a growing boy who is incapable of movement.

It should have said he's still a growing boy. Not a still, growing boy. That would imply he's a corpse. That's growing. Ew.

Or that we should be suprised the boy is alive and growing.
