Title: Ding dong the Witch is barred (in Alabama) Post by: AOFanboi on November 21, 2005, 09:00:25 AM Jack Thompson had his license to practice law in Alabama revoked (http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=61752). Happy, happy! Joy, joy!
Title: I hate Jack Thompson Post by: Yegolev on November 21, 2005, 09:00:47 AM Therefore I love reading this sort of thing.
Quote Earlier this month, outspoken Florida attorney Jack Thompson withdrew from a high-profile Alabama civil suit against several game makers and retailers. According to Game Politics, the judge today rejected Thompson's withdrawal, and instead kicked him off the case and revoked his temporary license to practice law in Alabama, to boot. http://www.gamespot.com/news/6140117.html Title: Re: Ding dong the Witch is barred (in Alabama) Post by: Yegolev on November 21, 2005, 09:01:27 AM Twenty-two seconds? Edit- btw, I merged Yeg's other thread about this into this one, hence his double post. Title: Re: Ding dong the Witch is barred (in Alabama) Post by: AOFanboi on November 21, 2005, 10:01:58 AM ... and I get First Post!
/dance Given how much Thompson screws up and lets his pen/mouth run off, is his existing licenses a sign that it's hard to get rid of a lawyer once he's "made"? I seem to recall he had a shitton of trouble with the "lawyer union" as well? Title: Re: Ding dong the Witch is barred (in Alabama) Post by: Jain Zar on November 21, 2005, 12:39:57 PM Apparently the judge is good old 10 Commandments in the front yard Moore too.
My world has gone topsy turvy. Title: Re: Ding dong the Witch is barred (in Alabama) Post by: Samwise on November 21, 2005, 01:06:52 PM Crazy is crazy. Even a Commandments-toting conservative can see that. You'd hope.
Title: Re: Ding dong the Witch is barred (in Alabama) Post by: Samprimary on November 21, 2005, 01:14:21 PM I see him named as James Moore. ... Mr. I Want A Ten Commandments Monument The Size Of A Washing Machine Displayed In A Public Courtroom Moore is a Roy Moore. Title: Re: Ding dong the Witch is barred (in Alabama) Post by: voodoolily on November 21, 2005, 01:14:54 PM Maybe the judge got Thompson confused with the stem cell guy. I sure know I've done it (hey, two guys named Jack Thompson getting in the news in a month is confusing!).
