Title: Viva la consolidation revolution!
Post by: Kitsune on November 15, 2005, 01:08:54 PM
It's rather silly that Corpnews and F13 have two separate MtGO clans, given that it's essentially the same bunch of bastards in each.  As such, I propose that:

A. We merge the two into one giant Voltron clan.
B. We get someone as captain who's actually around on a daily basis to take care of the housework of adding/removing people.

That should make it a good bit easier to get the most people possible organized in the least time with the least hassle.

I agree, there's about 2 other regulars I see online in our clan of 15 or so people.

So who wants to be Clan Captain?  And names .... dunno, somebody pick something.

My bitchass motherfucking computer isn't taking too the client for some reason. I'm going to do a complete wipe of all the MtGO data and reinstall now. It's funny you made this thread. I just need a list of people to put in bat country. I'll talk to one of the CSR folks about switching who the leader is.

Clan Corpnews is mostly defunct at the moment.  A few people can be easily reached; a quick kick could probably get them online, but I've no idea how to contact the bulk of the members.  I was AWOL from it for a good while too, the end of the Kamigawa block and 9th didn't really catch my fancy, but Ravnica's interesting enough to make me want to be able to kick back and blow a night now and then playing with like-minded folk.

Agreed.  I tend to play sporadically dependant upon other games taking my time (which is why I havent been around much these last few weeks), but being able to have a larger pool of like minded card floppers always makes it more enjoyable.

I decided to sit out Rav, it sounded too fun and I've been spending too much money recently.  If I had played undoubtedly tons of cards would have been purchased because it sounds like the limited formats are quite good with the set.

You just need to budget yourself. My rule is only 3 boosters a week at most. That's not that hard to do unless you consistently lose in the first round of draft. If you make it to the second round and get one decent rare you have basically paid for the next draft, or close to it anyway. And if you get something like a dual land that's a lot of your next draft right there. Ive been doing that for a while now, works pretty well. Also has made me cut down on my play mistakes since I can't go grab my wallet after screwing something up.

Edit: I'm all for consolidation. Someone get this thing moving!

We've basically got two options at the moment.

1. Move everyone into either Corpnews or Bat Country.  This requires grabbing Zen or Schild to perform the invites, as MtGO is utterly stupid and doesn't allow anyone but the clan captains to invite.
2. Create a new guild and pull the active people from Corpnews and Bat Country into it.

In both cases, the moving clan(s) will have to round up the active members and get them to move, and leave messages with the inactive members so they'll know what's going on if they return.  It's something of a pain in the ass.  Maybe the adepts can just perform some kind of copy/paste to transfer the entire clan in one fell swoop, but I kinda doubt it.  I have yet to see any adept be able to do anything even remotely that useful.

[Edit: Yep, the adepts are as useless as ever.  Only way to pull people into a clan is for the captain to invite, one at a time, while both captain and player are online.]

I'd go for starting a new clan, because we can do that without waiting on anyone else.

I just needs time to come in. I was on last night for 4 hours waiting to see other people log in.
