Title: Be Somebody - Be a Ho. Post by: Ironwood on October 10, 2005, 04:25:45 AM Is it just me or is the tone of the article a little, er, on the ubeat side ? It makes it sound like the dream job....
http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Features/2005/10/08/1254115-sun.html I'm considering it. Title: Re: Be Somebody - Be a Ho. I bet you'd consider being the friend of a lesbian! But would they want you? Possibly not. Title: Re: Be Somebody - Be a Ho. Post by: Ironwood on October 10, 2005, 06:38:48 AM I've been the boyfriend of a lesbian once. Does that count ?
It was a strange 2 years... Title: Re: Be Somebody - Be a Ho. Post by: Signe on October 10, 2005, 07:56:56 AM I've been the boyfriend of a lesbian once. Does that count ? It was a strange 2 years... I don't know if it counts. You'll have to ask those people from that place you sent us. My cousin is a lesbian, I suppose I could join if I wanted to. I don't see why I would... I already completely understand why she's gay. Title: Re: Be Somebody - Be a Ho. Post by: Ironwood on October 10, 2005, 08:09:29 AM Did the whole of F13 get together and say 'It's confuse Ironwood day' ?
Seriously ? Title: Re: Be Somebody - Be a Ho. Post by: schild on October 10, 2005, 08:13:04 AM Hey look, it's a real hooker with a heart of gold. I bet Julia Roberts would be proud, but you'd never know because her face is stuck smiling.
Title: Re: Be Somebody - Be a Ho. Post by: Ironwood on October 10, 2005, 09:34:29 AM I remember listening to a Carrie Fisher interview when she went off on a rant about Pretty Woman. I think she'd rant along similar lines about this article.
Pretty Woman : The Virgin Prostitute. Title: Re: Be Somebody - Be a Ho. Post by: Pococurante on October 10, 2005, 10:29:12 AM I knew quite a few girls who worked their way through college doing this. Some were escorts, some run of the mill dancers.
My tuition was paid by throwing pizza pies. Title: Re: Be Somebody - Be a Ho. Post by: voodoolily on October 10, 2005, 11:09:19 AM Text books: $200
Laptop: $700 Lab fees: $75 Not having to worry about coming to a job interview and being "recognized": Priceless. Title: Re: Be Somebody - Be a Ho. Post by: Signe on October 10, 2005, 11:22:15 AM What chapter did you join? As far as I can tell, there are no chapters in Scotland at all. It doesn't really matter... they'll suss you out. I mean, how long can you carry on trying to pull lesbians before they beat the crap out of you?
Title: Re: Be Somebody - Be a Ho. Post by: Ironwood on October 10, 2005, 11:36:53 AM WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT ???!
Title: Re: Be Somebody - Be a Ho. Post by: Yegolev on October 10, 2005, 11:56:01 AM I am going to have to stop reading any replies to Ironwood on F13 because they make my brain baby kick.
I am sure he doesn't deserve this torment. Or does he? Title: Re: Be Somebody - Be a Ho. Post by: Pococurante on October 10, 2005, 12:41:24 PM WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT ???! Arrr, girlfriend!!!! (http://www.infopt.demon.co.uk/pirates.htm) Title: Re: Be Somebody - Be a Ho. Post by: ClydeJr on October 10, 2005, 12:43:37 PM I knew quite a few girls who worked their way through college doing this. Some were escorts, some run of the mill dancers. When I was in college, a bunch of guys had their birthdays all around the same time so we decided to have a big birthday party with a stripper and lots of beer. This cute redhead chick shows up and dances, climbs in various guy's laps and wriggle, and all that good stuff. We noticed when she climbed in the lab of this real quiet guy, she leaned over and whispered something in his ear, to which he nodded back at her with a big grin. After she was done dancing, we asked him what she said. She said "You do realize that I'm your chem lab partner?" Title: Re: Be Somebody - Be a Ho. I don't know what, life, or the internet, or just a free shot at the wife, but you won. Lesbian Pirates. Now I'm bleeding in my cranium AND laughing. Oh, and drunk. But, hey, Scottish. So, you know. Title: Re: Be Somebody - Be a Ho. Post by: Pococurante on October 10, 2005, 01:31:32 PM That's my problem as well - half Scot, half Irish, half Austrian jew. Affects my math skills too.
Title: Re: Be Somebody - Be a Ho. Post by: Ironwood on October 10, 2005, 01:51:43 PM Man, there's a joke there if you walk into a bar alone, isn't there ?
Title: Re: Be Somebody - Be a Ho. Post by: Pococurante on October 10, 2005, 01:52:54 PM That's usually what happens when I go into a bar alone. ;)

However, she wasn't the dancer, the TA for our third year perspective drawing and rendering class was. Seems he'd been the dancer her friends hired when she turned 21. She couldn't look at him the whole semester without blushing. Title: Re: Be Somebody - Be a Ho. Post by: Paelos on October 10, 2005, 11:36:39 PM I saw a stripper from my college town in Wal-Mart once buying clothes for her daughter. While it didn't shock me that I ran into her or that she had kids, it sort of ended that "strippers have lives you'll never interact with" feeling which was sort of similar to the "my elementary teacher lives at school" naivety.
