Title: So....the PSP Downgrader was released. Post by: schild on September 27, 2005, 05:08:01 PM People with a 2.0 psp can now downgrade to the pirate/homebrew happy 1.50. Of course, it'll be less than 24 hours before you'll have to manually download the 2.0upgrade/downgrade stuff because Sony will fix that whole with the 2.01 improvement patch!
Really though, it's time they sat back and said "How can we convince people to upgrade." To which the answer is more games. Better Games. Now. This did not need it's own thread. Title: Re: So....the PSP Downgrader was released. Post by: Morfiend on September 27, 2005, 07:00:23 PM I have to say that the PSP that I bought was probably the crappiest purchase this year. There is one good game, and thats Lumines. Other than that, nothing. Although the one I bought for my girlfriend has kept her busy through quite a few of my gaming sessions, so all is not totally lost.
Title: Re: So....the PSP Downgrader was released. Post by: schild on September 27, 2005, 07:15:42 PM I've been upset as well. I've had a hella lotta fun with some uhm, other games, but the upcoming releases look incredible. Hell, even Monster Hunter looks like it may make the franchise worth playing. Loco Roco looks freaking awesome. And then there's Katamari, Tokobot, and Every Extend Extra. Really, I can't complain.

Bah. Green text. My arch-nemesis. PoPoLoCrois Virtua Tennis Armored Core Legend of Heroes: Gargahv Trilogy GTA: Liberty City Tony Hawk's American Wasteland LoTR: Tactics Tenchi-no-Mon Kingdom of Paradise Infected PoP 3 Y's That's from a list of about 60 coming out between now and Christmas. That's not counting import stuff like the aforementioned Locoroco. Title: Re: So....the PSP Downgrader was released. Post by: Hanzii on September 28, 2005, 03:41:34 AM Note the disclaimer, that I (and many PSP owners) don't own a PlayStation so I actually LIKE a good port.
Good (in order of excellence) Lumines Burnout Legends Hot Shots Golf Ridge Racer Virtua Tennis Wipeout Pure Not so good Tiger Woods PGA Tour Need for Speed Underground Snooker (something or other) And there's still some apparently good stuff out there I haven't played yet - I'm happy with my purchase. And I always have my 3 memsticks and the new season of BSG to watch as well. ... and now I get (it seems) the chance to play with emulation too. And Ghost and Goblins, a Gish clone and GTA is on the horizon. I'm still happy with my import. And somebody PM me the bloody link! Title: Re: So....the PSP Downgrader was released. Post by: Aenovae on September 28, 2005, 09:42:30 AM I'm very glad that the downgrader works and that I now have SNES emu on my (previously) 1.51 PSP.
I'm not so glad that current SNES emu is only about 80% of the way there. Most of the simpler games run at full speed, but all the great ones (Final Fantasy, Legend of Zelda, Secret of Mana, etc.) run at noticably less than full speed. Also, the sound seems a little...off. Or I could be imagining things. NES and Genesis emu are at 100%, so I'll check those out later today at work. I think I'll play Dragon Warrior and Final Fantasy I all the way through for the (gasp!) first time ever. Gamefaqs here I come... Title: Re: So....the PSP Downgrader was released. Post by: Miasma on October 06, 2005, 04:41:35 PM Apparently there is at least one trojan floating around for the PSP. (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20051006/tc_nm/symantec_trojan_dc)
It's a reuters article so it's probably old news and hopefully all you modders already knew about this. |
