Three New Castle Pop Warner coaches banned for life (http://www.kentucky.com/mld/kentucky/sports/12755389.htm)

Associated Press

NEW CASTLE, Pa. - Three Pop Warner coaches were banned for life from a youth football league amid allegations they cursed and shouted at referees, incited the crowd and resisted police efforts to quell a disturbance.

Fred Smith, 33, Corey Eggleston, 35, and Nelek Mitchell, 30, all of New Castle, were coaching the New Castle Central Hurricanes in the Tri-County Youth Football League when the incident occurred on Saturday.

The men coached fifth- and sixth-graders who were losing 26-0 to the Laurel Spartans when, police said, the men started throwing footballs at the referees and worked the crowd into a frenzy. The officials ended the game and 14 police from the city, state police, and three neighboring communities were called to control the situation, New Castle police said.

Police said that Eggleston continued shouting profanities after being warned not to do so in front of the children and Smith grabbed an officer who tried to subdue Eggleston. Mitchell was arrested because he was told six times to leave and wouldn't stop shouting and swearing, police said.

Eggleston and Mitchell are both former New Castle High School sports stars.

The three men were charged with disorderly conduct and failure to disperse, both misdemeanors. Smith was also charged with resisting arrest and obstructing the administration of law, also misdemeanors.

The men were released on their own recognizance pending a preliminary hearing in Lawrence County Central Court on Oct. 4.

Eggleston has an unlisted phone number and numbers for the other men could not immediately be located Tuesday. It wasn't immediately clear if the men have attorneys.

Mike McGee, who heads the league, said the men violated the league's code of conduct by using foul language and were immediately removed as coaches and banned from the league for life.

Here's a little secret I'm not sure anyone has told you: You don't have to reply to every post.

I also don't have to get ragged on when I make a comment on something that isn't actually directed at anyone in particular. I expect nothing less when I make a disparaging comment about what someone else has said.

Your "statements", although undirected, are intentionally incendiary. Stop playing dumb.

You're giving him too much credit.

As to the topic at hand, pop warner coaches are all crazy.  Thank god my parents kept me away from that.  Of course, my soccer coaches had habits of getting red cards (they were JUCO soccer players).  Once it got bad enough that a parent had to be the official coach for the rest of the game while my coach whispered to me as he left "you know the game plan, ignore any actual coaching he tries".

So if we tested the wee tykes for steroids, how many do you think would come back positive?

Youth sports aren't overrated, they just attract some parents whose failed sports lives lead them to try to live vicariously through their children. And in this case, it attracted the criminally retarded.

Yes.  But he's a winner, so isn't that what counts?

Looks a lot like the work of Photoshop.  It's extremely rare that a child could have musculature that developed while staying lean enough to have the "ripped" look.  Color me unconvinced.

The kid, "Little Hercules" has been on TV for the last year or two. He's legit.

And, at least to me, a little sickening.

Google: Richard Sandrak (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Richard+Sandrak&spell=1)

He's very much real. He's even got his own personal line of bodybuilding videos called "Little Hercules" or something.

See... me and pop culture just never cross paths.

If the kid is enjoying himself, I say fine.  If he's a monstrosity created by his parents, that's another matter. It is VERY unusual to see muscle development of this magnitude this young.  I'm guessing he pubed early or has a hormone issue (or is "supplementing").

Thanks for the link.

I thought it was faked too, but because his head looks so big.

Edit:  It's on The Intarweb so it must be true: (http://www.mymultiplesclerosis.co.uk/misc/richardsandrak.html)

However, all was not well. Frank was concerned about the boy's diet, his father, Pavel, was preparing a powdered food supplement which Richard lived off along with vitamin and mineral supplements. Frank demanded to know what was in the supplement but Pavel refused to disclose the ingredients. By this time Richard's body fat was barely 1% a situation that in anyone else could be life threatening. Frank was unhappy with the situation and declined to continue working with the boy.

Frankenchild will inevitably have such fucked up hormones due to the early adoption of steroids that he will become some sort of androgenous supervillian that will crush us all.
