Title: Business Cards
Post by: schild on September 27, 2005, 10:09:50 AM
So, I need some. Should I do it online? If so, where? Or should I find a local place?

Um...Kinkos?

Also, make sure you get them colored in Bone, not Eggshell.

I would do it at a B&M place so you can see and feel the final product before you buy several boxes of them.

I recommend visiting several B&M places (not Kinkos).

Your card displays more than just the information on it.  Make sure that the cards you choose make the stament you want.  Color, scheme, and texture will give the person receiving it a sense of your professionalism.  Go someplace that can give you some samples of their work.  Also shop cost... some places are pricey.

Got an inkjet? I bought some business card software and special, perforated thick paper designed for that software. Wasn't too expensive, and you can print as many as you need instead of like 1,000 or whatever the printer's minimum is.

Here's the software (http://www.decadry.com/en/expub/presentation.asp) I bought. Works great.

You can do better than Kinko's or at-home. Go for a nice linen card stock with thermography. Mmmmmm....thermography. Black-on-black has a look to it, methinks, and matches your effervescent personality.

I have some nice linen-textured avery cardstock that I use.  It works just fine.  Maybe if I was trying to be some fancy, big-firm attorney, I'd go to a printer.  Of course, when you work FOR someone, you generally get your cards for free.

Using an inkjet printer and doing it at home is great if you need them in a pinch, and it's not too bad to drop 10 or 20 bucks on a pack of perfed cards to hold you over until the real printer can get that stuff done for you.

If you can wait, and don't have a budget, I guess go for the printer.

Whats with the business cards?  You becoming some type of professional?

I am just going to assume that you are looking into pursuing some sort of escort service career.

I actually agree with Shockeye about something! Fancy that. Freddie Prinze Jr. is married to Sarah Michelle Gellar and is the son of Freddie Prinze of "Chico and the Man".

Teehee.  I am feeling very anti social due to lack of nicotine.  It is making me very unpleasant, and I want to hurt those I love.  Like Baby Hitler.  Which is offensive evidently.  Here at F13.  Whodathunkit?

I don't see anything wrong with a Hitler avatar.  Sorry.  I guess I'm just not PC enough to be a true F13'er.

Sometimes there is courtesy, sometimes there is political correctness.  There is a difference.

Title: Re: Business Cards
Post by: Cheddar on September 29, 2005, 11:28:56 AM
It was not Hitler, first off.  It was a baby DRESSED as Hitler.  Second, this is F13.net.  There was no nifty Nazi propoganda attached to the image, no racial slurs sprawled across it, nothing of that sort.  It was a BABY.  Dressed as Hitler.

If you find this offensive, and politically incorrect, then perhaps you should evaluate how you perceive things.

Of course there's a difference.  I don't see what courtesy has to do with a baby hitler avatar.  Who's he being discourteous to?  The baby?  Hitler?  I see that Horde baby Hitler all over the place as avatars now.  I don't know if that's the one Cheddar had because I didn't get a chance to see it.  If that's the case, then even much less hard edge boards seem to allow it.  Anyway... I don't make the rules and I'm not a board activist so I probably won't invest much time arguing the point.

I'll just leave you with this thought:

Yes Signe, it was the Horde baby guy.  Shockeye has been a dick ever since I got my kids to flip off Tazel (refer to my sig).  But oh well, his sandbox, his rules.  God I need something to keep my mind off of smoking... I finally put down the cancer stick and its killing me.  Guess I'll go run a couple miles, that should help.

Take a shot of ice-cold vodka and eat a jar of pickles. Spicy garlic dills, specifically. They only have three calories, so you won't hafta worry about getting fat. On second thought, if you have the girls you should refrain from the shot of vodka. Whenever I was having a bad craving I would just eat pickles. Or you could bake a loaf of bread. Or jump some rope. Or eat some pickles.
