Title: Pirates of the Burning Sea (beta sign up, gameplay video) Post by: Nija on September 22, 2005, 06:16:06 PM Pirates of the Burning Sea (http://www.piratesoftheburningsea.com/) recently released a gameplay video that looks pretty decent. One of the developers is a long time member of the SA forums and he's shared quite a bit of information there. Who knows how it'll end up, but beta is soon.
Few links - Gameplay video (http://www.3dgamers.com/dlselect/games/piratesburningsea/pobs_july_12.zip.html). Shows some combat, a whole lot of the interface, and character creation. Beta sign up (http://www.flyinglab.com/pirates/beta.php). It'll start small, 20-30 players within the next week. Then it'll move up to 500 players, and from then "who knows?" is the quote. Release is aimed for the very end of this year. I filled out the whole beta application, then get to the bottom and they want a dxdiag file. Arrgh! Don't they know that everyone fills these out at work? I am busy PLAYING GAMES when I am on my home box!

Tho as I come into 3 years ago OS-wise, I'm begining to like MS's Remote Desktop too. I've been using VNC longer, tho, basically as long as I've had a computer on an always-on network connection. Maybe I should put that on my beta app... "hobbies: skullduggery" I said on my Beta app. Could add "quickbuggery" or "earbuggery" or "tax evasion". Niche with a new concept... if you guys make me get my hopes up, I'm going to get stabby. Title: Re: Pirates of the Burning Sea (beta sign up, gameplay video) Post by: Velorath on September 23, 2005, 09:09:06 PM I followed the development of this game for a while a couple years back but lost interest after seeing plenty of ship models but hearing next to nothing about the actual gameplay. After reading a bit, I'm still not sure if I should be excited about anything in this game beyond the basic concept. Worth a look, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
