Title: RIP, Maynard G. Krebs
Post by: Jamiko on September 06, 2005, 12:25:55 PM
Bob Denver, forever, thanks to reruns, the most clueless castaway of Gilligan's Island, died at a North Carolina hospital Friday, his agent announced Tuesday. He was 70.

At least he and the Skipper are together again.

I have a strange urge to sacrifice a coconut in memory.

Just haplessly create a panic-inducig situation with your co-workers who struggle to fix it before finding at the "last moment" you're the culprit. Much more comedic, and easier on your knife than coconut sacrifices.

Peace and good journey, Bob.

Glad to see somebody else remembers Dobie Gillis.  I like Bob Denver better as beatnick Maynard than I did screw-up Gilligan.

Good Shit, Maynard.

Yah, but Gilligan was re-run more often for those of us who aren't ancient yet.   Old man.    I didn't even see an episode of Dobie until it was on Nick at Night in my 20s.

I also didn't see Dobie Gillis until almost my 20's. But it was a supremely better show than Gilligan's Island.

Either way, I miss that little beatnik.

I saw it in reruns when I was a kid, after Gilligan hit it big.  I figure that the creators of Scooby Doo must have seen it, because they used the same cast of characters with a dog thrown in.

I refuse to believe film, radio, or television existed before color.

I can't see color, so I refuse to believe it exists.

Next you'll be saying that Top Cat, The Flintstones and others are also ripoffs.

This "no green text" policy we've adopted...I like it.

I never liked that bullshit.  No point in being a sarcastic ass if you are wearing The Sarcastic-Ass Green Foam Cowboy Hat.
