Title: Darwinia Post by: cevik on May 05, 2004, 04:08:16 PM If anyone remembers the huge response that the game Uplink got around these parts when it came out (okay not these parts, but whever our little "community" was residing at the time), you might be interested in Darwinia, the new game by the makers of Uplink.
Apparently it's a tron like game where you are a gamer inserted into a network of video games, and you have to lead a squad of men against a viral infection. More information can be found at this fansite. Uplink was interesting and fun, I wonder if these indie developers can do it again. Title: Darwinia Post by: NiX on May 05, 2004, 07:28:23 PM I loved Uplink. I would spend long nights playing that. I still haven't "beaten" it. I'm not that great at the deep hardcore side of games. And my bad memory made for some nasty slip ups with log altering. This new game looks very unique. I like how they went with a basic, yet unique, look. I can't wait to find out more about this. Introversion is a good dev company. They're very involved with the players and aren't tainted by large sums of money.

It's also a novel (http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?userid=ZYw1qNVRWH&isbn=0812566629&itm=6), if you're into alternate history type books. Title: Darwinia Post by: kaid on May 06, 2004, 06:20:29 AM Actually the darwinia book is not an alternate history book history in their world up to our point happened exactally as it is now. Read deeper to see why it looks like an alternate history book.

I was just tossing the B&N description down because I'm too lazy to describe it further this morning. ;) Title: Darwinia Post by: kaid on May 06, 2004, 07:07:38 AM Hehe that and when you find out whats really going on it makes your brain hurt for a second as you shift gears and figure out what is really happening.
