Title: Theme song - a little bit ratty!
Post by: Cheddar on August 22, 2005, 06:08:04 AM
In celebration of getting my Rat guy to level 18, betraying freeport, and all around looking cool, I went through an exhaustive search for his theme song this weekend.  After hours of scouring music across the land I decided on Sepulturas "Ratamahatta."  So what theme songs does everyone else have for their characters?

And do not tell me you do not give your characters theme songs!  I do it so everyone does.  Deal with it.

He knows he's insane and eccentric... we've discussed it numerous times.  I think his short term memory is shot from all the mescaline, though.

Questionable sanity or not, I know one of you dirty heathens does this also.  For me it began during my Arr Pee days.  I found it as a useful tool to stay in character and it sorta stuck.  So enter my world and play with me; what theme song fits your character in your mind?  Does Vivaldi play as you stealthily sneak up and eviscerate a mob with your rogue, or are you the Cleric type who has Welcome to the Jungle playing in your head as you throw out heals left and right?  Come on kids its fun to pretend!

But...but... I did not post any song lyrics!  I cannot be the only one who does this.  I was just curious as to what other people assigned their characters.  I will crawl back into my hole I guess.  Thanks a lot Signe.  No soup for you.

I don't want any of your moldy old chicken or beef soup... I make lovely soup all on my own.

Oh... and sorry about screwing up your post and running over your dog.

Insanity is very endearing and all.. but really, cut it out.

Edit: Love the song choice though.  I think I had that track on a "bizarre" cd mix I made a while ago.

Last night it was at 9 days on the guild chart.

When you do log in Schild please make someone else a high enough rank to handle guild duties.

Also if there are free patron slots could I be made one?  I would like to try doing these writs and getting some status points for the guild.

I have around 70-80 items for my rat boy to turn in.  Should get a pretty amount of SP, plus I want to do guild quests.  That would be the fun.

The roof badly needs redone.  I live in a condo, so the association takes care of that stuff.  Supposedly they were going to replace it in March, then July, and now they say November.

Title: Re: Theme song - a little bit ratty!
Post by: tazelbain on August 23, 2005, 02:19:40 PM
My condo assoc. made us all pitch in 1000 bucks extra to redo the roof and some landscaping around the place.  Makes me wonder what that association fee was for.

Anyway, I don't play EQ[1|2] but it seemed like it had become a taunt Cheddar thread, so I thought I'd pitch in.

No problemo.  Its tough being a follower and keeping up with the pack.  Really its just tough love- everyone loves me and wants me to come play their little games, so they assault my Everquest 2 threads.

But thats ok because I, I will survive.

I never called you any names, except dumbass, which is what I call everyone.  It's more affectionate than anything.

Dumbass.

You called me Mr. Whiskers or something like that in guild chat.  That is not acceptable; remember we are an equal opportunity guild.  Denial is admission of guilt, so please do not deny.

Of course I deny it.  I have never called anyone or anything Mr. Whiskers in my life.  Sheesh... that's like cute or sommat.

Way, way back in Jr high school, when I played gemstone 3, my character had a stuffed puma. My friend had some other stuff animal. You could make them wrestle. My puma (unimaginatively named Pumby) had Orgy's "Blue Monday" as his entrance theme.

That's about as close as I ever got to "theme music."

Our lazy Glorious Leader logged in today and blessed Tuecer and I with guild rights.  We will figure out what to do with whom later tonight I guess.  Signe is getting an immediate demotion due to insubordination; luckily we were not in combat or I would have her executed.

just kidding Signe, hugs????

edit.  The spelling, it eludes me.

I thought the point of having Signe in your guild is so she can  make a thousand low-level alts and then complain when no one groups with her.

I have about 20+ collector items in case anyone is interested.  If so let me know before 9pm EST as I will be nuking them if no one shows interest.  School is the suck tonight so I am skipping out early; sometimes my dedication to education astounds me.

Quote
USAGE NOTE   Asian is now strongly preferred in place of Oriental for persons native to Asia or descended from an Asian people. The usual objection to Oriental—meaning “eastern”—is that it identifies Asian countries and peoples in terms of their location relative to Europe. However, this objection is not generally made of other Eurocentric terms such as Near and Middle Eastern. The real problem with Oriental is more likely its connotations stemming from an earlier era when Europeans viewed the regions east of the Mediterranean as exotic lands full of romance and intrigue, the home of despotic empires and inscrutable customs. At the least these associations can give Oriental a dated feel, and as a noun in contemporary contexts (as in the first Oriental to be elected from the district) it is now widely taken to be offensive. However, Oriental should not be thought of as an ethnic slur to be avoided in all situations. As with Asiatic, its use other than as an ethnonym, in phrases such as Oriental cuisine or Oriental medicine, is not usually considered objectionable.

Edit:  Get out of my head, Shockeye!
